forward dated about a week when the pups turn 1 month old :) slightly powerplaying Tuwa's location
There was no way of telling when had the little red sausage that once resembled the size of a potato was now bordering a whooping 6 kilograms. Now the Sveijarn quartet was about to turn a month old, and if mommy and daddy thought things would get easier as the babes grew they were wrong. Soon the little darlings would begin to talk as if the non-stop whining and groaning were not enough.
Today one of the loudest pups sat at the very mouth of the den, her eyes darting from Tuwawi's sleeping body to the exit. If she could only take a peek outside..
ugh but daddy wasn't here and mommy was asleep and honestly Maera was a little scared to go on her own.She was about to take a step back, wanting to get away from the temptation but her mother's snore made her freeze. Her hazel eyes fell upon her mother's heaving sides; she was sound asleep. Suddenly it all clicked in her mind.
She could make a break for it.
The tip of her tail wiggled with excitement as she took a step forward. Then gulping down her fear,Maera spun around and wobbled to the entrance. Once she stood at the fine line that separated the outside from the inside, she shot one last look back before lunging out of her den. Happy little yaps escaping from her lips.
>_> Is it OK to have two? I just love the pups..! And I figure the first one would be concluding soon.
Maera was fast becoming Bazi's favourite of the Sveijarn bunch. She bore striking resemblance to Tuwawi, and a little bit of that fire must have seeped into the pup's skin and travelled to her brain, because the creature that had taken such slow, careful steps was now a real firecracker in the making.
The bright-white Beta was snoozing near the family's den - something she took to doing whenever Njal was away, or when there were no official duties to attend to. Tuwawi was more than equipped to handle the foursome on her own, but they were so
disgustingly adorable that Bazi found it hard to stay away.
The sound of a young, excitable little escapee making a bid for freedom pulled Bazi's ears to attention, but she didn't open her eyes. With her other senses, she judged that something small and naughty was wobbling away from the safety of the den. A low, warning growl rumbled in the older wolf's throat (it was all she could do not to grin) - and came to an abrupt stop. Would Maera come to investigate, or continue on her wobbly way into the wilderness?
of coursee♥ I love Bazi
It was hard to contain herself as she staggered towards a freedom, she would have to learn that yelling at the tops of her lungs wouldn't help her make her getaway go unoticed. There was not an once of discretion in the fiery girl's body, only milk and gasses.
"BAA-AAII!" she screamed as she trampled a little plant growing a few steps from the den. She was about to throw her head back and scream bloody murder against the plant and rip it off the ground with her tiny milk teeth when Bazi's growl extinguished the sound from her throat.
Instinctively she flattened her ears at the sound of an angry wolf. She had learned from mommy and daddy that the low rumble known as growling signified she had done something bad.
Had mommy woken up? A confused whine left her lips as she tried to locate the source. Was Bazi always going to hide just out of her sight when she spoke to her?
Maera's mystified mewl (apart from being a feat of alliteration genius) forced Bazi to choke back a giggle. She opened one eye into a narrow slit, squinting at the confused girl and her trampled plant. It didn't seem to occur to the most Tuwawi-like of the pups to
turn around and investigate - but before Bazi could choose another noise to make, a second, monochromatic little body launched out of the den like a fat, fuzzy bat.. and fell flat on her face.
Bazi's insides twisted themselves into knots with the effort it took to keep the laughter in.
Jökull seemed slightly more aware of her surroundings than her sister. A pair of searching little eyes - defiantly dry despite the fall - fastened on the Beta's squinting face. She could almost feel terror rise in the pup's throat at the sight of her:
I've been discovered! Before the second pup could warn the first, she swiftly pushed herself onto her elbows and blew the loudest, wettest, most impressively fart-like raspberry she possibly muster:
"PRRRRRRLLLLT!"
♥
It was true the little red blob was not yet accustomed with the world around her, she had about as much sense of perception as a nut. Maybe she had missed Bazi completely while she was busy trampling the poor sprout at the mouth of the den, but she had not failed to recognize her sister's body approaching in between tumbles.
At the time of Jökull's fall, Maera's ears rotated like little radars on her cranium, pointing at her sister. She took a step forward and allowed her vocal cords to call out to her sister, half wanting to make sure she was alright and half asking for her to come and help her solve the mystery. But her silver kissed sister had something else written across her face:
fear.
The sole sight of seeing the oldest and boldest of the quartet almost shivering with fear was enough to make the smaller girl wail in terror. Fear was contagious and whatever had scared Jökull so much had to be utterly terrifying. With her heart thumping loudly against her chest and a tear threatening to come out, Maera threw herself at her sister's side.
The girl had not yet realized the whole ruckus was because of Bazi, she was faithfully convinced a monster was towering over their little home. If she had turned to take a look herself, her reaction would be completely different. She would've ran
towards the white Beta rather than
from her --though Bazi's next action prevented her from running any further.
The horrid fart sound that was emitted caused Maera's ears to prick again. Her eyes finally met Bazi's figure and all trace of worry was thrown out and replaced with a filling sense of relief. Her tail rose again and began to pound against her sister's side as a happy squeal erupted from her mouth.
"HAAA!" It was funny how a child could go from such opposite emotions in a matter of seconds.
The noise earned Maera's instant approval. The little girl went from terror to heart-bursting joy in a split second, wagging her tail so hard that it was a miracle of physics that she did not take off and disappear over the mountains.
Her sister wasn't quite so easily charmed, though, and that fact earned her a wry little smile from the white Beta. "You'd better take care of your sister, if you're so brave!" she responded to Jökull's increasingly impressive bursts of noise. "Come on, then, louder! Listen to this! Still on her elbows, Bazi opened her toothy jaws so wide that the hinges creaked, took the biggest breath of her life, and let it out an impossibly loud:
"HAAAAA!"
When her dear silver sister began to mumble the same sounds as her, Maera Sveijarn swayed her head to the side to look at at her face --almost poking her sister's eye with her nose in the process. Her own tiny eyes sparkled with joy as Jökull abandoned her doubts and began to scream, nudging her to do the same.
That was the bossy girl she knew! "HAAAA-AAAOAA!", she hollered as loud as her lungs could allow her. Adding another vowel in the middle of her cry, a sassy touch from the fire kissed girl.
Sadly their duet wasn't as good as Bazi's solo. The snow coated Beta had the advantage of size, her lungs were probably the size of the girl's tummies--which were huge. Their kiddie lungs could never beat her, though that wouldn't stop Jökull from trying;and as long as she kept yelling Maera would too.
Though all that noise threatened to wake the other pups or even worse. Mommy. Surely she wouldn't be as thrilled with their little karaoke contest as they were.
Bazi's ears flattened against Maera's impressively high-pitched squealing. When the noise subsided, she was quick to praise the pup's efforts - "Ooh, impressive!" - before turning her attention just in time to watch Jökull's dramatic preparations, ears quivering in anticipation of a mighty sound.
That was when mum stepped in to cut their game short.
Tuwawi's was sharp enough to shame even Bazi, whose mouth became a black, pursed ring. She flashed a guilty, grinning look at the pups and pushed her hind legs into the air, stretching with a sigh. "You'd better go make it up to your mother!" she chided the two girls, stepping forward to nose each of their sweet little faces. "Obviously it was all your fault, so.."
Posting here again to have Jo exit. Sorry for the wait, you two.
Justified, Jökull whipped around to sneer at the cloud-with-a-mouth. This...this blusterer had gotten both of them into trouble! However, Bazi was apologetic. More so to them than to Tuwawi. The gentle furrow of the snowy woman's brow erased any thoughts of spurned retaliation. Bazi would live to scream another day. For now.
Taken off guard by the Alpha's sudden touch, Jökull feigned disgust. “Omly mam cans kiss meh!” Translation: only mom can kiss me! Feeling like the fun had evaporated due to mom's scold, Jökull turned tail and waddled back into the den with her tail straight up. She brushed up against Maera, but her attention on this situation has thus died off. Now, she felt like cuddling up to mommy and eating...Yeah, she thought. That sounds nice.
