Gone was the home she had left, miles behind her last footsteps still visible in the snow. Her physical home that is, but in her mind there was no home without the burly figure she so loyally followed. They were a menacing duo, both large and intimidating. She might be strong but there was no strength akin to that of the one she felt standing by his side. They were most powerful together, at least to her. That is why she trailed after him like a duckling with full confidence of this next step.

Now they found themselves in a forest that she felt was rather cozy. It had a welcoming mien that other places she'd encountered lacked. One that said: you can stay the night here, you'll be safe. The maple trees spoke with friendliness and it wasn't often that mother nature lied. She had learned from a young age to trust the earth and her signs, and this was a good one.

The she-wolf chuffed to catch her companion's attention. "Frændi, this seems a good place to rest." Her gaze lifted to the boulder of a wolf, she admired for a brief moment his golden eye. Her chest began to kindle with warmth and in a panic, she switched her attention to her own silvery paws, hoping to suppress any emotion beyond that of platonic.
It had been many months since his home had been swept ablaze, all his kinsfolk scattered and any hope to find one another dull, due to the many miles burned between them. Vangard had taken it as a sign, that they had failed Odin and that he was given a chance to start anew, to form a new pack. It was a mighty task, one that would take diligent work and much patience but he accepted it with bravery and a steeled resolve to succeed. Still it pained him deeply that everyone he had known and loved had been lost, nobody else had been given the same chance. So he walked until the pain in his paws outweighed the pain in his heart and he found himself in an entirely new land. He had been wandering aimlessly when his "Tyna félagi" had appeared and a joyous reunion had been given. With the knowledge that Odin had spared them both to start their home anew and ignoring the underlying meaning of why Odin had spared the ex Chief's son and his best female friend to go start anew they had both set off together.

The days had been cold and had been growing more so but together they remained strong, looking for a temporary settling place. He looked to Odi as she suggested they pause where they were and he turned his golden eye toward her, smiling as he always did "Yes félagi, that sounds good" he said nodding approvingly. He noticed her looking down and stepped forward, sharply but not too roughly nipping her ear to grab attention and then stepping back to catch her gaze "Do not ever feel the need to look away from my eyes. You are my best friend, family. You don't need to be so subservient" his voice was firm but gentle as he stared at her, gaze prying at the doors to her soul.

Add intense to his personality lmao
I love it ;P

Her mouth stayed ajar for a moment, unable to explain the innate feeling to heed him like a loyal follower. Odin had created it so he was to become a leader, for some reason the idea of her being equally important to the plan he'd set in place was absent. How was she to voice that her reverence towards him placed the wolf so much higher than her in her mind? She knew exactly how he'd react to such an answer and knew it was best to keep it between herself.

"You coddle me, Vangard." Her eyes finally met with his own, his zealous gaze was impossible to ignore and she studied his two differing orbs, one gold like the sun and the other blue like the open skies the two once gamboled under with little worry about the world around them. She sent him a comforting smile, hoping to skip a supportive lecture. Not because she wouldn't appreciate it, she just didn't want to waste his energy.

"Besides, how are you to know why I adverted my eyes?" The woman teased, "Perhaps you were just too unpleasant to look at." Of course, this was all a jest to ease the tension so thick in the air she could've taken a bite out of it.
Vangard's gaze grew sharp but it retained it's warmth "I coddle no one" he said seriously and smiled "If you have worth, you need a guiding hand to help you grow that, I am that hand. You already proved your worth and that also deserves my respect." He continued to hold her gaze, studying her. She was beautiful and any other man would have been enraptured but not Vangard. He saw her beauty and was oblivious, she was his friend and sure he thought her beautiful but he'd never considered romance. It hadn't quite sank in that they  were chosen to reproduce and that was how they would start his pack anew. Her jest sharpened his gaze and he narrowed his eyes, turning sideways and rippling his muscles, stretching slowly "Oh yes. Years of refined muscle, Definitely repulsive" he said, with full confidence that he would cause a reaction not because she liked him but because who wouldn't swoon?
She couldn't help but feel honored by his compliment, if fur wasn't covering her cheeks a burning red would be seen on them. "Þakka fyrir," she thanked. The she-wolf stretched her front legs forward like a feline and allowed a quiet yawn to escape her maw before settling on the ground. Admiring her companion from below, his muscles perfectly contoured in the moonlight.

She chuckled at his remark, "I'd say," she then shifted her head above her shoulder to seem more innocent and alluring, blinking her eyelashes, obviously mocking the more seductive type of female.  "Besides, we both know I'm the better looking one of us." Again, she spoke far from what she believed was the truth. Everything about Vangard was far more mystifying and captivating than anything she possessed, at least in her opinion.
He snorted and stopped flexing, tail swaying at ease around his hind legs. He could tell she was joking, he wasn't stupid so much as just thick at times. It was the fact that she was joking that brought him up short. She was beautiful, a pure white coat and lovely expressive eyes with a strong body to finish the picture. He gave a sad sort of chuckle and nodded "Yes. You have even me beat there Dúfa" he said, eyes boring into hers again before he once more felt that weird warm sensation spread through his body. It was distracting, it made him want to put off his mission just to stay alone with her. He couldn't allow such silly whims. "How do you feel we should go about this? Finding an area to settle in before we start recruiting would make the most sense, right?" he wanted her opinion since she was his right hand at the moment.
Yes, that seemed like the smartest move. However, it wasn't the logic that made her wish to find a territory as soon as possible. Odi was the opposite of a nomad, no she didn't mind long treks away from home anywhere from weeks to months- hell, even a year! But, finding a land that could be settled on and called home would be the most comforting. She may enjoy journeys though they're always best when she has an abode to return too full of her most treasured wolves. Her home was gone now and she had spent too long without one.

"I would like that very much," She admitted, her grief reflecting clearly amongst her eyes, not hidden behind a veil as they usually were.
As the grief came into her eyes soon his reflected it and he stepped forward, touching his nose to the center of her forehead as was the familiar gesture of their Homeland. "Then that is what we will do" he said decisively. He stepped away from her and exhaled slowly, lifting his gaze toward the darkening sky. Soon the stars would be out as well as the moon and the channels would open that allowed him to communicate freely with the gods. He hoped they would show him what path to take from here as these lands were so new he had no idea where to begin. A sort of fear had begun to blossom in his chest, fear that he would fail to lead Odi to a new Homeland. He swallowed thickly and turned back to her "Tonight I wish to sleep beneath his gaze. Would you join me?" he asked.

We can fade out if you want? Also if she is with him, they're currently in the sunspire!
