@Lily

She couldn’t believe it happened and she also didn’t know if it even worked.  Aliac was so scared and she found herself getting lost in her own head filled with thoughts of what if. Her life had been horrible before morningside it’s as if she felt as though she didn’t deserve the kindness that life had given her.

She he felt lost as she wandered around aimlessly trying to find something to occupy her time. To keep herself away from her own mind. Was she even ready to be a mother, only time would tell but she knew that even if she wasn’t she would have to be. The deed was done and there was no turning back from it now.
For Lily, most of these fears had passed. Not because she had somehow miraculously gotten over them, but because she was simply too grumpy to care much about the perils of new motherhood anymore. She was huge and in a horrible mood, to boot. She must be due soon--although she hadn't counted the days--so why the bloody hell were these things still inside her?!

Her stormy expression cleared as she caught sight of Aliac, and she waddled over to her sister-by-matehood, tail wagging in a delighted greeting. Hallo, she called out, feigning her usual chipper self.

The last time she had seen the woman, Sunny had announced their intention to have children. Had they. . .done it? Had it worked? Lily canted her head in silent question, though hiding her true curiosity as she asked, How goes it? I haven't spoken with you in some time.
Aliacs tail wagged in excitement as her sister in law approached, she was bigger then the last time they talked and wondered how far along she was. She missed social interaction dearly and smiled. "Im well just sick I'm afraid." She merely called it that because she knew not of she was pregnant.
Her face morphed from delight to concern. Oh, dear, what's wrong? Lily asked. Have you seen anyone about it? Seabreeze has some healing knowledge, I think. She didn't really know for sure. There was Pema, but she hadn't seen the woman in quite awhile; had she decided to leave, along with her children?

Then again, she remembered the last time she was sick. It turned out not to be sickness at all. Keeping this in mind, Lily relaxed a fraction, though not totally. She was no medic and refused to make a diagnosis one way or the other; to do so would be foolish and potentially put Aliac's life in jeopardy, should she truly be ill and Lily tell her to ignore it.
Aliac sighed and decided to spill everything. “I’ve been nauseous and deer meat makes it worse.” Sadly she hadn’t been able to find a rabbit anywhere but when she did she wasn’t strong enough or fast enough to catch it. “I feel empty I haven’t seen Sunny in weeks.”
Nauseous. That only served to strengthen comparisons between their two illnesses. Her mouth pulled tight in a frown as Aliac described Sunny's absence, but she tried not to look too distressed; she didn't want to overly concern the woman. She had just heard this story before. Too many friends, disappeared without word. . .

I was nauseous at the start of my pregnancy, Lily offered in gentle suggestion, tilting her head. Do you think. . .? She let her voice trail off, knowing Aliac could come to her own conclusion. Would this be her first litter, too? The two of them were around the same age, so perhaps.

Blind leading the blind over here in Elysium.
The young wolf looked away slightly at the floor and immediately she knew. At least she knew that it worked and it set fear in her heart a bit. “I guess it worked.” That’s all she was able to say.
I mean, I don't know for sure, Lily said quickly, alarmed at how apprehensive Aliac looked at the prospect of pregnancy. I'm not a medic or anything. It could just be a coincidence. Probably not, though. 'Tis the season, after all, and Sunny and Aliac were in love. . .right?

Her brow furrowed as she stared at the other, stepping a tiny bit closer to try and read the maelstrom in her eyes. It'll be okay, Aliac, she murmured, blinking slowly. You do love Sunny, right? And the two of you want children? And you do know that you're surrounded by wolves who care about you, who will take care of you--don't you?

But it was easier said than done to relax. Making peace with this situation just took time. At least, it had for her.
It was true she did love Sunny but she couldn’t figure out why she was doubting everything so much. “Yes I do want children.” She couldn’t keep it to herself anymore. “I think I may have met my father about a moon ago I’ve been on edge ever since.”
Her ears perked at this revelation. Really? she asked, for this must be Khali's father too--which would now make him family to Lily. He's around here, somewhere? What happened? What was it like?

She couldn't imagine not having Daddy in her life, ever. To have to meet him later, as an adult. How strange would that be?! She remembered yet again how blessed she had been, to have such an idyllic childhood, and felt a pang for those who never got the chance. Well, her kids would have that and more, she would make sure of it.

I was scared, too, Lily admitted. The fear will pass. You're going to be a brilliant mother; you're so kind.
Aliac sighed. "He claimed to be my father buy something didn't feel right about him something was off. He disappeared after. When we met he barely spoke." Aliac paused as the she wolf finished. Finally she smiled. "Thank you"
How strange, Lily murmured, brows drawing together. Does Khali know? Then again, maybe Khali didn't need to know. He already seemed so tortured by his upbringing that adding another factor might make it worse. 'Course, Lily didn't know for sure. Perhaps he'd be overjoyed.

The smile returned to her face as Aliac gave her thanks. Just being honest, she said warmly. And you'll have us to help you along the way, too. Me, Olive, Seabreeze. . .we're here for you. A cozy little mothers' club. Lily couldn't think of anything finer.
