His mind wasn’t troubled or nothin- he just felt like walkin. He was so used to @Phex and her patrols, and now that she was busy with her man and their baby-tendin, he wasn’t doin nothin as much as he used to. He occasionally saw @Laroche and all, but he was scarce, while even Cry was proving to be a true shade in his own right. Morgan had been patrollin like he owned the damn place.

But the less folks to bother him, the better, he ‘sposed.

Evenin was comin on down for bed, and he let out a yawn, himself. Today felt like one of them days where he jus’ wanted to curl up next to his woman and stay there till the sun came back up. Crossing back over the first river, that’s what he reckoned he’d do.

@Cadeau
Cadeau was feeling nervous the closer the two of them went deeper into pack territory. There had been leads of a pack called Shadewood that inhabited this part of the forest. It would be the first time she would be formally encountering a pack wolf since starting her little road trip with Illidan. Though he seemed to think her dog born heritage wouldn't cause an issue, she was thinking otherwise as she walk at his side. Cadeau masked her edginess behind a deep sigh to calm the butterflies in her stomach.

"Is this the right place, Illidan?" Cadeau asked him, unable to stomach silence right now. Both eager and anxious she let her eyes jump about. The scent of a stranger wolf was strong, she knew she need not ask. She just wanted some reassurance, as embarrassed as she was to need it.

@Illidan
Phex was returning from a short trip out. Naturally, she'd sunk half way down -- not very far -- in a fen that hadn't tasted very good. Not that she intended on getting the slime in her mouth.
She wandered, drenched and not unlike a swamp creature back home.
She hoped Laroche was there. She wanted to get clean and be warm.

She then happened across Morgan, out on a walk it seemed. She bounded to him, her shoulder giving her no grief but would give her a little scar. It was mostly healed by now, just the remains of a scab lay there.  "Hey Morgan!"  Cheerful despite her appearance. She looked just behind him, spotting two figures, "Are you walking away from them or are they following you?" She asked a bit quieter. She didn't want anything bad to be happening to her Family. She was sure her lesson with Issun would prove useful one day.
Possibly.

A voice he ain’t recognize care before one that he did. A twitch of spruce brown ears over a ruffled skull donned his awareness to the situation. Phex came over as he stuck champagne golds on a wolf and not too wolf wolf? Damn man couldn’t be telling the difference nowadays. Folk runnin round here with two color eyes and he saw some fella with a whole half his body one color and the other side was another- wolves ain’t even looking like right wolves no more.

What in sam’s hell happen’d ta you, gur-“ goddamn mess she was carryin round on her lil spunky ass. Laroche would have one hell of a time trying to clean up after her. But there was them two wolves he needed to mind, and thanks to Phex, the rustler turned back to the nearing  bodies. “Look here, you stay right on behind me and don’t be throwin yerself out there like some kinda coon hound. Lemme figure this out.” The words were directed to the tricolor little Sister of his, while his stare was stuck on the nearing pair.

Whas yer bisness here,” his baritones boomed out. Though it was a question, it seemed more of a demand.

it was probably the furthest that he’d traveled from his home. the ghost had thought he might venture out to touch every piece of the land that surrounded them. his goal had been to know their surroundings well enough that he could have traversed it without his eyesight. in all the mess of their meeting and the plans they had made, illidan and cadeau had ventured a great many miles down the coast. it was not until he was snapped from his trance that he realized they might have been trespassing in another pack’s territory.

the baritone pulled him from his thoughts and the lean-limbed creature stiffened abruptly. he glanced to cadeau and then to the stranger who had stopped them. his jaw clenched tightly as he thought of what he might need to say in order to excuse them from the scenario. “i… i think we got lost. we don’t mean any harm,” illidan said to the strangers – his hawkish gaze was keen on the man with the booming voice. instinctively, illidan made sure to keep his frame in front of cadeau. he did not want her to receive the brunt of any force that would be directed at them.
Cadeau couldn't help the reaction she had at the arrival of the stranger, her brown eyes leaping between the male and female wolves. They were much bigger than she was and it was intimidating thinking how easily she could be snapped in half by their weight alone. She'd made it her goal lately to keep away from wolves and being so close like this left her edgy. Her lips twitched, torn between exposing her teeth to make them back off or smile politely in hopes of seeming friendly.

In the end she did neither as she worried she could cross wires and make the situation worse, she stuck closer to Illidan by stepping to his side. She trusted he would know what to do, he was a wolf after all. He seemed to try and come up with a way to defuse the other male wolf, telling him that they were lost. Cadeau peeked her head over his shoulder since Illidan had become a wall between her and the two strangers. She wasn't too keen of having Illidan play meat shield if something broke out.

Cadeau took in a steady breath and pushed passed her companion with a light nudge to his frame. "We aren't here to cause mischief," Cadeau said, taking a demure stance by lowering her head and tail. Looking small was a good way of coming across as non threatening, Cadeau spared the stranger a waned kind smile. "I'm Cadeau and this guy is my friend Illidan."  She gestured to herself and then the dark colored Illidan. Perhaps names would make them seem less shady, it had certainly helped her feel better when confronted with a stranger.

There, that seemed civil enough she hoped, even if her heart was beating a mile a minute and her stomach was in knots being this close to these stranger wolves. Cadeau hoped there wouldn't be a fight. Her stance was weary, prepared to defend herself and Illidan should the need arise. She wouldn't be a pushover.
She giggled softly, the sound flitting and childlike. She shook herself thoroughly, probably splattering Morgan but, if she needed to run she couldn't be carrying a swamp around on her could she. Besides, the water clinging to her fur made her chilly. She hoped as soon as she jumped into a lake or some clean water she could then go to Laroche and cuddle. Her tail waved at the thought. It also put her in a mood to incline to Morgan's instruction; whatever a coon hound was.

She peered from around his shoulder.
The strangers looked strange, as she supposed any stranger would; yet these were different. One was white with a black face like some sort of floating head whilst the other was pretty and very small. Phex tilted her head, surely they were about the same height. Perhaps Phex were taller! She wanted to run and greet them, wanted to talk to them and wonder where they came from.
Besides, they were lost and Phex was a scout.

The girl stepped out from around Morgan, taking a few steps forward so she wouldn't have to shout like some sort of caveman. She didn't miss the mistrust in the pairs gazes but hoped they were friendly enough. "I'm Phex," she grinned, easy going as usual, "and this is Morgan. Are you looking for somewhere?" Her head tilted, ears cupped inquisitively. She wanted to help them but she also didn't want to be a coon hound nor a threat.

Big old rugged him had really nothing more to offer em other than, “Well, thas nice, but-“ before Phex thought to peek around him and offer both her name up along with his own like some kind of free meal ticket. ALONG with a sneaky offer to settling. They didn’t even explain themselves other that ‘they think they got lost’. A huff was all he could throw out there before turning to Phex with a hellova disappointed face, before turning back to the duo. There was gone be some words exchanged once they got back home.

Well if y’all got some kinda arrangement already, should we know where it miht be, could point you two the way ther’. If not then well we’ll go from there.” They might not even been lookin for no homes, and Phex jus throwing all a’ Shadewood at em!

the wildling wasn’t certain how well he could do at defending both of them against two attackers. he knew that he would be willing to take the brunt of whatever might come their way. after all, he was leading their expedition into the unknown. it had been his idea to venture out in search of packs that would accept a halfling in their ranks. perhaps he had pulled her along on a mission that was nothing more than ignorant hopefulness. it was safe to assume that illidan did not know enough about the world to be marching around a complete stranger in hopes that she might find a home for herself.

“cadeau is interested to know what packs look for in their members. maybe you could tell us about your own pack and what you like to see in your recruits?” illidan attempted with a thoughtful smile toward the man with the strange way of speaking. he wondered if it would be helpful to ask things about their home before trying to skirt away from the whole thing. besides, that was why they’d gone on the crazy journey to begin with, wasn’t it?
The girl seemed friendly so that was a relief to Cadeau who met her eyes, politely smiling. "Its nice to meet you Phex and mister Morgan." She turned her gaze to the male, who Cadeau decided was the one they needed to keep their focus on to convince them they were of no harm. It seemed easier now with Phex here, Cadeau hoped the young bitch would calm any flames that could break out proceding here. "We do have an arrangement, he's my escort," Cadeau affirmed with a nod, keeping her voice leveled and respectful.

She stopped talking when Illidan spoke up, giving him her attention for a moment before turning back to the pack wolves. Cadeau appreated Illidan didn't bring her heritage up into the equation. "What he said," Cadeau said to confirm the statement, a small smile on her tan face. Her tail curled along her back like a husky as she let herself relax.
Phex shrunk back a little at morgans look. So she'd fucked up. Or was he just being grumpy again? She knew it happened with old men like him, as they get older they get grumpier. Was he even old though? He seemed younger than Laroche even. Ah well, he should act his age.

She ducked behind the grump-bag again, letting him do the talking. However, being the free spirit she was, she peeked around his other side and pulled a face at him, hoping to make the two others laugh. She felt Morgan needed to relax, like damn. She wasn't going to offer up more information, because apparently, their names were too sensitive for grump-bag. She understood why about the pack logistics and all that noise, but not this. It's not like they were murderers, right? Was Morgan a murderer? Was he even one of them terrorizers, perhaps that's how he knows so much! Damn. Phex was smart as hell.

She had wilted under his glare- good. Might shut her up for a while while he figured out how to get them outta this mess. He tipped his layered brim to the both of em, subtle return of greeting.
Thank ya fer yer clearin’ up ‘a bit-“ he began, completely unaware of the snotty raspberry the Phex was unleashing at full force on his ass. “Dunno how our Keep Watcher gone take to her- but seems he rustle up all kindsa folks. Could ask him and let y’all know once we find out. Where y’all holed up at?

Graceless golds eyed her tail, the weird curly thing arching over her back like some kinda bored snake. It was up high, and it irked him. Clearly she wasn’t much more wolf than Phex’s naive ass attitude about everything- but maybe she had more sense to her than the piebald. Hell, if he could trade the two-

The Outlaw’s gaze slid to Laroche’s girl.
what a damn dream that would be.

the woman grew quiet and moved behind the man, which was something of a shame. she had been the one that had made illidan feel more at ease than the other. she did what she could to make comedic faces behind the back of her companion. the ghost did nothing to give away her joking attempts. instead, he fixed his sharp yellow gaze on the features of the man who was speaking. he seemed to know a language that illidan did not. at least, it was similar but the words that were used sounded nothing like what he’d heard before.

“well i’m from a place on the coast called rusalka. i’m the beta over there… and i met cadeau on one of my scouting trips. told her that i’d help her find a place that she likes to call home,” illidan answered as best as he could. then, he turned his sights toward cadeau and canted his head just slightly to the left. he wanted to know if she thought he’d answered that well enough or if she understood morgan better than he did.
Cadeau felt Morgan's eyes on her tail and quickly she dropped the troublesome thing, embarrassed as she did so. She looked to Illidan again as he spoke, giving further detail on himself and the circumstances of their encounter. She wondered how to explain her own history as it were, Cadeau made a thoughtful face. She caught her companion's eye and offered him a smile to show she thought his words just fine.

Cadeau turned her attention back to Morgan and Phex, feeling some sympathy for the girl that her face making had been caught red handed now. "I'm a drifter to these parts," Cadeau decided to say. "So its all new to me but I think with some elbow grease I could be useful to a wolf pack. I have a knowledge of basic herb care, in fact. Chewing willow bark for example cures aches and pains and..." She caught her tongue to stop herself from rambling, smiling sheepishly. "But yeah, Illidan has been showing me the ropes for other stuff too."

"We are settled temporarily outside the boundary of your pack if your leader wants to find us, theres a broken tree and stream."
Cadeau chanced a glance at Illidan in hopes she wasn't spewing idiot out every orfice of her being. I talked too much, didn't I? Her face practically said.
Phex shivered -- she wasn't sure if it was just with cold. Morgan's exterior was pretty chilly. She wondered if poor Velvet could warm whatever she saw inside him. Good luck to her anyway.
She pulled herself up beside her Family, giving him a soft shoulder bump. She'd been a snotty child to him recently -- it was no wonder he was fed up with her. Perhaps she'd prove her usefulness to him. Hunting. He'd value hunting, right?

She smiled to the traveling pair, wondering if Illidan would have the same reaction to Cadeau talking as Morgan had to Phex. Men, huh. Wanting to be keeping all these secrets and stuff like it's a game of Cluedo. Her ears perked, she knew where they were talking about. If Morgan ever got his butt out - which he was admittedly -- he'd know too. Awesome! Ah wait, the last trip she'd had with the man had ended with her being an ass. Only because he thought her lesser than what she was -- he still did by the look he slid to her like a look through a peephole.
He was family better than the ones bound to her by blood, at least.

Morgan took the bump Phex put on him, and he didn’t shy from it, giving her permission to get a bit closer on him if she was cold. Well not all up on him, but close enough to dry up some of that stank swamp mess water she dredged her goofy ass through. He wasn’t fond of her antics, but she reminded him so much of a member he ran with in the posse prior- immature, but quite the little sister reminder. He wouldn’t be smiling doin it, but he’d take blows for the lil piebald pain in his ass.

Keeping his sights on the pair ahead, the southwesterner listened to what it was they had to say. He didn’t know if Cry had the time ta show a new girl how ta exactleh ‘fit in’ in their society- but it sure as Hell seems to be his most favorite thing with baffling them all with, taking in all the strangers who ain’t got no place ta go. And this Illidian fella seemed to be stickin his own neck and posse name out for her- took balls. He nodded appraisingly at Illidian, appreciating the coy’s grit. Well, he wouldn’t know that, but less hostility hung in his guarded golds with this shabackle.

Bring himself back to Cadeau, he offered a lil nod to her too as he addressed her. “Gone keep that in mind. We’re headin’ back home anyways- gone let the man know he’s got a lookin’ over ta do on ya.”

He felt the tense beef on his back and shoulders alleviate a bit. Less stressed, he atleast was grateful they weren’t exactly at tha borders a’howlin away and scarin away all the game. But comin’ across em creepin round didn’t hold back any untrusting feelings too much. He’d have ta remember this Illidian and Cadeau- might make fer allies, one day.

cadeau did well in her response to the duo. illidan listened to her and when she turned to look at him with her sheepish expression and a look that seemed to ask if she'd said too much, he offered her the softest curling of his lips in a smile and a very subtle nod of his head. she had done well for herself. she had been able to offer a sales pitch to these wolves without fumbling over her words or getting hooked on the idea that she wasn't full wolf. it was good to hear her that way.

“do you think your guys' pack would accept someone like cadeau if she were to request to speak to your leader?” illidan asked of the man. his gaze latched to the other's with a strange intensity. in truth, he wanted the two to be honest, but he did not want them to hurt her feelings. that much was evident in his stance and the expression on his face. speak your mind, but be careful what it has to say... the young ghost only wanted to give hope to his friend so that she did not fret so much about her future.
Cadeau kept her mouth shut when Morgan began to speak again, talking how he would keep her tidbits in mind when he took up their request to their pack leader. She felt oddly winded and Cadeau mentally blamed it on shakey nerves more so than her literally feeling ill.

"Okay, thank you," Cadeau told the male wolf with a polite nod of her head, giving a smile. She turned her attention to her traveling companion when he asked Morgan a question, causing her to look at Morgan with shameless curiosity over what the response could be.
O fehk skip me in the future damn

She observed, curious. Watching both and wondering how they looked the way they did. She wanted to tell Cadeau to come home and they could play together and do work, just like Morgan would like.
Either way, she hoped that she could make new friends out of this.
Yes, plural, friends.
Morgan needed to lighten up and could probably do with having people outside of the Keep to mingle with. Socialize and stuff. Wolf things, not moody ogre things. Though, she looked more like an ogre than him right now.
