She's drifted by here a couple of times and noticed the pack scent, but paid it no mind before. Now, though, with her grandchildren fast on the way, she is wary of neighbors both near and far. What are they like? What is their temperament? Are there any grudges between the wolves of the mountains and the Melonii?

Megara will not see the next generation born into a land of faces unfamiliar to the old rogue. She will know them all, if only to impart that information to the pups, so they can tread as carefully and intelligently as they can in this new world.

She lets out a low, calm howl at the base of the mountain, where the claim begins, and then stands patiently, the early evening sun gleaming a rich blue-brown off her dark pelt. All the while, her eyes drift up the peak, looking for sentries.
He hears the call, an ever vigilant gargoyle of Moonspear's many secret paths and ridges; it rose and faded, but Revui knew where it originated and wasted no time. He hoped it was someone less wholesome than Bee - the boy yearned for a fight  for something to break him out of yet another monotonous patrol.

As he came crashing out of the tree line he made a point not to slow down, and nearly careened in to the stranger waiting so patiently. He leveled his sharp gaze upon them, filled with a crackling fury, but stopped before any collision. She had been looking for sentries? She'd found something far less regimented.

Revui does not speak, but watches her expectantly. His expression is cold and hard like the mountain; he is impatient, and waits for her to clarify her purpose. Something malevolent in his demeanor gives the impression that he will not wait much longer.
She wasn't far from where the stranger's howl resonated, preferring to spend time near the base of the mountain most days as she waited for the snow to disappear and the spring plants to return. Curious to see who called for an audience and a little concerned it might be someone in need of assistance, she trotted towards the borders. It didn't take long for the dark woman's form to appear in the distance and with it, the form of Revui. Speedy quickened her steps, stopping just inside the borders to stand next to her packmate who, from what she could tell, had not said anything. The unfamiliar wolf didn't look obviously injured, which the healer thought was good, but now she wondered what she might need. Hello, she said pleasantly. Do you need something? she asked inquisitively with a slight tilt of her head. She figured other packmates would join soon having heard the call like she had and with Revui here too, she wasn't too worried about her safety as she waited for the woman to answer.

There was nowhere left to go, nowhere left to run. Panic crept up my throat as I ran into yet another dead end, and realized he had led me here. Turning around, I found him...

Shambles and twiddling twitches was what so many had reduced Moath to. But the hulking nightmare lived on, his unending lumber following behind his Mother as some awful boogeyman brought to the light, would. A massive shadow behind a nimble shade, the awful psychopath lived on.

She had brought him unknowingly to the borders of another pack, and the threads tingled the nares of the beast. Again, it brought to life something innately evil within him, and had she not moved to halt and stopping him with her howl to them, he would have lumbered past her and attempting finding the foods. But ebonyesque amethysts stayed upon his petite Mother, his blank expressing coupling with his dreadful huffs of inhales and exhales, rigid and rough wreckage of sound that almost asked what they were doing here. But he had no mind to ask.

However, grey python of tongue rolled out of a lolling set of jaws, lips shredded from his many encounters with Foods whom had fought back. The serpent, dry from his wheezeful intakes and exhausts through I parted maws, rove over over stained ivories, slithering brusquely over the knives that he had used so many times, knives he hoped to use again, today. Hunger pulled at him, and the salivation began. It pooled obstructively on the end of his unfurled tongue, and ran a telling dribble through the left and right torn scraps of jowls. Turning to the mountain place, the beast hoped he and his Mother would find Food soon.

That they could kill someone, together.

And in silence, he waited.

It did not take long for Hydra to arrive herself, though her own approach was a strange medium between Moonspears medic and its proverbial wrecking ball. She lurked, unseen, for a moment before observing the brute that had come with the stranger. Her eyes lingered on them for a moment, the hunger in her own eyes entirely different from his own; it had nothng to do with the primal need for food, and neither did it have anything to do with lust. The Ostrega was simply a possessive woman, and she saw great use for a mindless machine. It is not hard to miss the blank look upon his countenance, that shifts to a desire for something Hydra would make perfectly clear they would not be victim to—

She knew that look. As she broke through the treeline, she wore the very same. It was the look of a woman who knew how to, who had done it—who could do it herself. Her attention did not divert from the drooling beast of a man, whose size did not worry her (she had taken down beasts of his size before, and now more than ever she was capable of it) but she listened to the woman alongside him who clearly carried his leash.
A loud rustling of trees draws her attention, and she shifts her gaze only to find herself nearly plowed over by a burly wolf. Megara steps back, recovering quickly—though her fur bristles with wary surprise—and casts her indigo gaze over him. It is the boy who was in their forest some time ago, looking weary. And before she can question him, another arrives, a kind-spoken woman who seems more welcoming than the brute before her.

Greetings, miss. I— She doesn't realize until he is almost upon him that Moath has been tracking her. She turns at his approach, eyes wide and then narrowing quickly with disapproval. Megara does not trust her son to be diplomatic, especially not in the state he seems to be in, all but trembling and drooling before her.

With a sigh, she turns again to the woman. And then there is yet another. So she focuses her attention on both women, the darker one looking fiercer than the other, but still not as cold as the boy. I am Meldresi; my family is newly settled. I would like to know, first, why this young man was within our claim a moon or so ago, she begins, dipping her nose to Revui, but I had originally come with the intention to make my neighbors' acquaintance. This is my son, Megara adds, gesturing with a shoulder roll at Moath.

There was nowhere left to go, nowhere left to run. Panic crept up my throat as I ran into yet another dead end, and realized he had led me here. Turning around, I found him...

The brute felt the air shift as they had been approached rather quickly- food from all sides came and sought their meaning for being their, wolves of various colors and possibly even various tastes.
Another drip landed between darkly webbed feet.

There was one who was particularly close to his Mother, and gaze drudged to the glaring male with a spark of staticky ideal in those near hidden orbs. Would he be first?

Energy slid to limbs- a shiny tar forelimb rose in the direction of the angered food-
but his Mother spoke.
The energy held, then released as it dissipated.
The limb dropped.
Should she have chosen to eat the male, she had unknowingly saved him for herself by talking. Nothing was to be done while she spoke.  She would direct him to whom he could claim.

Lethargic gaze slid through their company, the glitter of his gaze skimming idle but voracious over each face. Moath passed over them all. Each only made his stomach clench, urges twisting his belly into a growl. They looked so delicious, delectable, easy to pull apart and inhale. The final female, almost...looked like Family.
the only distance in difference was the jewels of that she harbored.

His stomach halted its protest. But only for a second.
The words of the meeting were near lost on him as he regarded this woman further, even turning his gigantuan body to face hers as his curiousness grew. The dome began a slow tilt to the right as he tried to study the dark food...his mind trying to figure if the dark woman was food or not-food.

And in silence, he waited.

Sith, ya kinda jumped the order, but whatever!
Meg > Moath > Revui > Speedy > Hydra
now, I guess.

The boy watched, tense and eager to charge, but he would not go without a reason. Earlier in his life Revui would have given chase and torn in to the stranger without a moment's thought, but since returning to the mountain he had been changed; now, as Speedy spoke and then Hydra slipped up behind the gathering, Revui would wait for the stranger to instigate something. The boy held back; he kept his attention tuned in to the woman as she introduced herself but physically the leviathan slunk to the back line beside Hydra. He passed the boorish male a glare when he arrived as well, bristling subtly, but regarded him with the same withheld aggression as the other. Should Speedy come under attack, he would rip their faces off.
Her heart rate increased a bit when the large black demon emerged seemingly out of nowhere to stand next the similar-looking woman. The female didn't look aggressive on the surface, but there was an energy there that led the empath to suspect she could be just as malevolent as the creature standing next to her now. Speedy could handle wolves like the woman well-enough; usually politeness and respect got you far, which was something she already offered to anyone who hadn't proven they deserved different. But the man at her side made a chill run down her spine, and everything in her was telling her to get the hell away from him. She spared him a quick look and a cautious smile before returning to the first caller. The last thing she wanted was for Revui to get hurt again, or for there to be some kind of issue on the borders.

Her ear flicked at the sound of Hydra's approach, and relief slowed her heart some. She didn't want there to be a fight, but she hoped the fact that the strangers were now outnumbered would discourage them from causing any trouble. The woman introduced herself as Meldresi, and she nodded in response. At her question, Speedy turned her glance to Revui, a slight question in her eyes. We all find ourselves at the mercy of wanderlust sometimes, she answered first as she looked back to the dark woman. She actually had no idea what he had been doing there, but even if she did, she wouldn't exactly tell them; she didn't like to lie, but she would protect her packmates regardless.

It's nice to meet you. I'm Speedy, she said next, hoping her vague answer would be enough. These are my packmates, the healer finished, a warm smile returning to her face as she spoke.
Though she was surprised to hear Meldresi's words—Revui had trespassed? He could be thick, but she did not think him oblivious to things that did not require to be said—it did not show. Her features were impassable, even as he turned to face her fully. Was she a woman, here, or a weapon? It was relatively clear she was a terrific balance between the two. And what was he?

A weapon. A kindred spirit, in that regard. It was a thought that came to her without the sweetness sentiment could carry, but her eyes flashed with the acknowledgment. But it was not his own hand that stayed the violence that came with such things. She wondered how Meldresi wielded him. Wondered if she was a suitable owner of such a cataclysmic thing. Mercy, indeed—if Revui had trespassed, that was what this woman must have shown him that day. He bore no telltale signs upon him that suggested otherwise. Only when Speedy had finished speaking did Hydra join the conversation.

A pleasure, comes Hydra's own voice at last; it does nothing to diminish her, and her gaze shifts to Meldresi. You are kinder to strangers within your claim than we. Where is it you have settled? It should not happen again, comes her succinct rejoinder.
Megara returns Speedy's smile, though not without a glint of steel in her eyes. Indeed, though wanderlust does not excuse a lapse in good manners, she responds coolly, gaze flickering to the boy before returning again to the woman. I should think my family happy to host our neighbors. . .when first they call for an audience. She dips her head slightly at the introduction, and then turns to the other, who for all the world looked a Melonii, save for her eyes.

In the weald, north of the mountains, she explains, grateful that this woman shows more apology—and willingness to reprimand—than Speedy had. Our claim is fresh enough, but certainly not invisible. One corner of her mouth quirks wryly at that; she knows her grandson and others had been hard at work, making sure their fortress was near-impenetrable.

She lifts her chin, staring up the peak. This is your claim, then? Megara asks almost rhetorically. A lovely, wild place. I will remember it—and your pack—on future expeditions. Not much of those left, she thinks, taking into account her aching bones, but it is at least valuable intel for others of her family that wish to wander. She cuts her stare over to Moath, making sure he is staying civil, in line.

There is something within him that disturbs her greatly, though she knows not what.
my bad, fully unintentional. I’m bad at group thread orders so that helps a lot!

There was nowhere left to go, nowhere left to run. Panic crept up my throat as I ran into yet another dead end, and realized he had led me here. Turning around, I found him...

First, a voice of honey, sounds of a windy pasture in the middle of spring’s most grand of wake-up. Daffodils and tiger lilies danced in this breeze, flowers he knew not names of, but only sights, images, smells. Whomever the woman was that spoke first to Mother, this Speedy, and Moath hadn’t come to register how different she was before a voice with a whip within pulled his sights back to them.

An involuntary swallow kept him from drowning in his own salivation as he regarded who would be known as Hydra. She held less suave inclination in her voice, and though the lessened sense of threat lie in the beguile his Mother possessed, Hydra was not without a command of her own. His skull had rightened, and he was processing what this woman would have been, perhaps, in relation to their own Family. But he felt the tug of his attention,

Mother yet again, spoke.
Whoever the male was besides Hydra had only briefly caught his line of sight as he felt Megara finishing up her reasoning of being here. His stomach riled a protest, loud and angered that it had not been replenished, when in all actuality he had fed earlier on that day. Moath clearly did not need anymore food- but something awful was starving within.

Almost knowing his control was waning, Megara snapped him back once again, the mental prowl recessing back to guard from her soul-snatching glance.

He could do nothing but wait.

And in silence, he waited.

The woman motions at him, references a moment that he barely recalls, and for a moment Revui feels hot under the collar. He doesn't like being singled out by this stranger any more than he does by family, and he has a hard time containing the brief flicker of what the fuck that sweeps across his features. He glances at Hydra and sees nothing change with her, and he emulates that impassive expression as best he can.

He shifts his weight but otherwise remains mute, and gradually his attention drifts across the woman and her beastly companion — seeing a familiar hunger within Moath — and cannot take his attention away from them.
I suppose it doesn't, was all she answered, feeling like Hydra said all that needed to be said on the matter. It seemed that, for now, no harm was done, and hopefully Revui wouldn't make the same mistake again.

The dark woman explained that they had claimed the weald to the north of them. That was the place she had found promise of spring regrowth of some very useful plants, and she thought it was a shame she would not be allowed to explore there once spring was in full force. Luckily there were plenty of other places, and the healer would just have to settle for exploring there instead.

She glanced to the demon, her gaze only resting on him briefly; the look in his eyes caused cold dread to pool in her stomach, and so she quickly returned her attention the other woman. Yes, it will look nice in the spring, she replied first. Maybe there can eventually be an alliance between our packs, Speedy continued. It is not my call to make, but I could always put in a good word. A warm smile spread across her face as she finished speaking. Always seeking to mediate, her hope was that the idea of an alliance was tempting enough to keep peace among the group, but maybe that was just wishful thinking.
Hydra hummed to the other, though did not let slip that they were less inclined to let others into their claim. What was the point? If they could benefit from their kindness, best not to let such fields dry. Neither would Hydra lie, though; she was an honest woman. Hydra nods at the others inquiry; it was her own. She was made from this stone as much as she was made from her fathers seed and her mothers egg. Its teeth were more painful than any wolf that she had faced, and now she had the grace to never stumble so much as once upon it. She was its heir, and did not doubt someday she would take the mantle of Moonspear if she wished to...

Her ear shifted to Revui. She would like for him to lead, too, when he was ready. His teeth were beneficial; she wondered more about this behemoth before her, most interested in how she could tether such a kindred spirit to her. Her eyes lingered upon Megara; likely, this womans life would need to end. He seemed to answer to her. Hydra had enough wisdom to know that endeavoring to do so would do her little favors... and besides that, she rather enjoyed the womans wit.

Speedy suggested an alliance, and at that, Hydra shifted her weight. It was something to consider, but alliances did not come without terms, and Hydra had a feeling that this male before her was not the only of his sort. What would they want? What would it cost? To be sure, it would likely cost the others just as much—Hydra would enjoy seeing this purple-eyed, hungry beast at work.

If we were to create such an alliance, Hydra spoke, cool and collected as ever, what would it be that you and yours expected? She inquired, most curious.
Talk of an alliance surfaces. She is slightly taken aback; her journey here had not been intended to discuss such matters. Megara has forged many an alliance—either through truth or deception—but that was when she had the power to do so. Now, she is a little unsure of her role within the Melonii here. Even if she felt confident enough to make a decision here and now, it would be inappropriate without Damien's input.

That, I believe, is best left up to my nephew, patriarch of our family here, she says coolly, looking at the dark woman. I will broach the topic with him when I return home, and come back with an answer, should I receive one. For now, I merely wanted to meet my neighbors, to know who lives nearby.

Once more, her eyes flash to Moath. There is an energy between him and the burly fae that carries herself like a leader. She does not know whether it is a good one or something more insidious—but she doesn't like it, either way.
final post for me! Just assume Moath is following Megara whenever/wherever~

There was nowhere left to go, nowhere left to run. Panic crept up my throat as I ran into yet another dead end, and realized he had led me here. Turning around, I found him...

The hunger forced him to pull his gaze to a drifted lapse over the other two wolves, and his muscles tensed. He continued to block the urge so long as Mother gave no incline nor command for him to eat the forward party of prey. He would watch them with those empty and voracious dark amethysts, regardless.

And in silence, he waited.
