Athan shook his body, spraying water into the air. The river crossing had not been hard, but the chill of the water was a burden. The water seeped into his bones, drawing the cool from the air along with its own cold. He chattered his teeth, snorting and shaking as he tried to warm himself.
Why had he crossed the river anyway? It seemed illogical, but his whole life was full of illogical, impulsive actions. He supposed that he had initially felt like crossing the river to the Isle, but instantly regretted it as soon as the water's cold hit him. Still shivering, he headed further into the Isle, hoping to warm up away from the water.
