A part of Dorminos longed for the adrenaline rush of a good hunt, but the rest of him was too lazy to pursue anything. Well, it wasn't really that he was lazy, but that he was unmotivated; the heat had recently hit the Wilds harder than he'd expected, and still holding onto his thick winter coat wasn't the most convenient thing to deal with. It seemed that most of these wolves had long since shed theirs, trading it in for the shorter fur of a true summer wolf. He'd never been that lucky; each year followed the same miserable pattern.

One good thing that came from the high sun was the theraputic effect that it had on his ankle. It was still sore from the fall he'd taken, but for the most part, Dorminos was able to work through it. He ambled with his limp through the heart of the territory, hoping to come across a lonely packmate.
"You must be the newbie,"

Her comment was warm as she approached, having noticed him in the distance easily by his strikingly pale coat. No others in the pack had had a cloak of white, so he definitely stood out. In truth, Niamh had seen very few wolves in these parts whose pelt was a dead giveaway that they had some arctic heritage, but they were known to travel, and tell amazing stories of the lands that lay buried in snow for most of the year. Colt had mentioned the fact that they had a new wolf amongst them, and he certainly stuck out. He looked warm, with his thick undercoat still making him look plush and soft- and she didn't envy him that. She'd shed horribly- the pregnancy hormones hadn't helped- but had eventually managed to get rid of her dull winter coat and was left with a thin layer of dull gold.

His limp didn't go unnoticed- but she didn't mind too much. Hell, Finley gimped around all the time, and Colt wasn't moving as quickly these days as he had before either, but they both still got along fine. She nodded to him, giving him a congenial smile. She was in a good mood- it did her a lot of good, taking the time to leave the kids with Colt and go out to see other wolves now that she wasn't feeling 100000% overprotective of the kids. "Colt told me about you. I'm Niamh, his mate."
