He had visited and now was returned. It wasn't the time within either pack for him to stay, he had surmised, though leaving so quickly had driven the parting even deeper.
It didn't cross Gannet's mind that @Terance might have thought him gone, so he didn't seek him out. Instead he went directly to @Ashlar and @Mona to inform them he was back and accept the quiet comfort of their presence.
Then he took some time for a solitary hunt and was now pacing the woods, but he'd already let two birds pass. His mind was a million miles away, racing with questions he hadn't gotten answered.
