@Fang

Jace limped down the mountainside his left shoulder hurting like an absolute b***H the slash in his muzzle healing but scarring leaving a permanent white line down the side of his maw giving him a sinister look. The wound on his right shoulder ropy and raw and bald. And all the sides around him where numerous scratches and bites littered the already wounds that he wore.

He sat to his haunches burning pain searing his flesh from the inside out as he moved and the tendon ripped and moved more than it already did. He tried to baby it, but he feared that it would not get better and he would always have this limp. It bothered him to a degree, made him feel like less of a wolf, less of a man, but he shook his head and sat as the sun began to set and the moon took it's place.

The evening was making its slow transition to night, Fang was spending his idle time moving around the territory. Things were calming down, for the most part, he was doing his best to avoid most of the ranks, excluding Red's immediate company.

When his eyes fell on the dark male, limping his way across the mountain side a hint of recognition flashed behind his eyes. He knew this was Jace, by reputation alone. And this was also the sole causality in the recent drama.

He casually trotted up to his alleged Beta, a quick stocktake of the injuries was made and in a rather blunt statement he spoke. Still smarting, hey? Looks like it hurts like a cougar bite. His brazen attitude was a reflection of his recent run-in with Ferdie, as well as the fact that this broken, and sore Beta wasn't much of a threat, were he an opportunistic creature he could probably take him out as it were, however today he was just curious. That was some mess, back there.

Jace was doing his best to stay away from any and all with the exception of his sister and Ferdie, because simply put he didn't want to be bothered. He knew where he stood with most and many blamed him for everything when it wasn't his damn fault. He wouldn't have even left the mountain if Ferdie hadn't kept Leaf, after he told her to run and for a moment the fear for her safety had overrode all other coherent thoughts he could have had, until after it was over and done.

Jace turned feirce blue eyes towards the voice that spoke to him irritation evident in his step and agitation in his eyes. you could say that I've never had the pleasure of a cat's bite. He bluntly put it with slight sarcasm, but his face lifted up in a crooked grin.

Jace stood still staring at him, thought hurt he still painted a imposing figure. He still held himself high and he still knew that he could fight with the best of them, after all he was a brawler by this point. It would hurt like hell and he may lose, but he'd give it his best shot if the other so much as tried to come at him. He waited he knew the other had no real respect for any of them and though it irritated him, he could certainly see why coming from newcomers eyes being tha they had just nearly missed a full on war. Jace sighed Yea it was ,it still is a huge mess. This is only momentary someone is going to cross a line or a border somewhere whether it is on purpose or accidental, it's going to happen this is an uneasy truce I'm afraid. Fang correct? He asked the name of the male in front of him.

His own grin mimicked that of the beta, he dropped his gaze slightly, enough to indicate mild reverence. He had no need yet to dismiss the same opinion of his alpha on Jace. Fang, yes. He added a nod, lowering to his haunches, he let out a long breath.

He mulled over the black males words for a moment. Or there is the internal conflict we're facing. He spoke in a matter of fact tone, a questioning look passed over his features as he tried to glean a reaction from the beta. Fang was planning something in the back of his mind, first he needed to know what sort of character this Jace was. You know? He added.

Jace dipped his muzzle in hello Well then well met Fang, well met indeed. He shifted and moved swiftly to a lying down position not because he wanted to be lower than the other, simply put his body ached and putting weight on his paw was excruciating.

Jace chuckled then a dark bleak chuckle well friend do you speak of the two packs as a whole and this war or do you speak of the internal conflicts we all face everyday, as is the way of the world. Some of us more than others? Jace did not know waht the other was getting at, but Jace had enough conflict in his life he didn't need more, and if he saw the mess that he was on the inside at the thought of Leaf or Bazi it might just sicken the male called Fang.

Fang rolled his shoulders in an offered shrug at the question, the apparent indifference shown by Jace was a good indication he was unaware of much out of the ordinary. His tail gave a little thump in the ground behind him as he chose his next words. Internal conflicts are an everyday battle, I was referring to things a little closer to home. Word is you're history with Ferdie and Swiftcurrent are the reason behind the conflict. I won't pretend to know the intricacies, but it seemed a little more. ..personal, than us being too close. He turned his face away from the beta for a moment looking at nothing in particular.

Turning back to Jace he let out another slight huff. If you'd care to indulge my curiosity there's one thing that, a little unrelated you could shed some light on.

Jace was a knowledgeable man, he was smart and he collected gems of knowledge like they were going out of style. But you ask him about emotions or common sense he'd probably stare at you like you grew another head, it was really that simple. It was one of his flaws and shortcomings. He did not know how to handle emotion fueled situations.

Jace stared at him and spoke softly if a little flinty, I do not deign to know what was going on in Fox's head, but yes I suppose it could have been personal, but I do not think so. Fox is not smart, she is far to stupid a wolf to think things so clearly through like that, but yes I suppose it could be personal. He stared at him for a beat of a moment wondering what he wanted to indulge him in, but he dipped his head and nodded Ask away Fang, I can't promise you'll like my answer but you can ask.

Letting out a small chuckle at the explanation of fox's personality. He had never met the former alpha. Or even seen her. But the description seemed apt. Putting Ferdie and yourself on her enemy list would strike of idiocy, indeed. He regarded the beta once again, there was no signs beyond his irritation that gave fang any reason to pause from his questioning. Admittedly, I don't see eye-to-eye with our alphas last lot of choices, I was dragged into the returning party with. ..the young one, Magpie, and that other female. On our way back I tried to clear the air between Ferdie and myself. He admitted the reasoning behind taking them captive revolved around you in some way. Something about alone time. He chose his words carefully, he had only met Magpie, and did in fact know leafs name but forewent bringing it up. Our conversation ended with some profession of love to Jace Du'andris which I assume is you, unless your names not so common. He offered a casual grin at that, shuffling himself around a little before finishing his questions. How is it, he can make a big deal about caring for you, and running off to attend to you, but stir up a hornets by capturing Magpie and. ..Leaf wasn't it? And after that, turn around and tell me he took her captive for your interests. He rolled his shoulders in another shrug, his tone remained curious, and factual as he tried to figure out this mess here.

jace listened and growled out softly her name is Leaf the other female it is Leaf but I call her Imp Jace listened and was content to stay quiet for the whole thing. What was he talking about alone time unless he meant to talk with him or too make sure he was still here.

I can answer some of that yes I am Jace DuAndris. I do not know why he needed to see me alone other than to tell me of the truce privately because he knew I would not take it well. As for leaf I believe I am or have been or was falling in love with her I don't know how it will go now, but she and I had fought and she told me to go away and like a fool I did. Ferdie knew this and seeing another opportunity than from just taking her captive he took her captive in hopes that she and I would make up and we did. But then he told me I couldn't go back down to the lowlands so I do not know what happens now. he panted slightly at all the words he regurgitated.

Fang visibly winced when Jace explained his history with Leaf, the correcting of his own ignorance, mingled with the history did give the half-breed enough of a conclusion that it did in fact revolve around this black male. Ah, I'd offer my empathy, but I don't see you as needing it. It's strange though He found himself shifting lightly as he looked over the beta once again, trying to see if there aw something he missed. What it could be was anyone's guess. I find it strange that our alpha would complain to me about a broken heart, yet deny you, by his very word, to visit Leaf. A sly grin spread over his features as he returned his gaze to Jace's face. You're going to see this Leaf again right? Encouraging insubordination, with a coy laugh.

Jace looked at him for a moment and then spoke I misspoke Ferdie did not tell me I couldn't see her, he told me to stay in neutral territory and far away from the creek. Ferdie did have a broken heart he was in love with Fox, and she was terrible to him, and he finally broke one day and i was the one to keep him at bay, and i got ostracized for it too. It's a long and complicated story Fang and one that told by each one of us seems different, even though we all were there. He shrugged then he didn't know how to tell him the story or how it happened and he couldn't tell him why, because even he did not know why Ferdie had been so upset if it had just been fox or if it had been othe rreasons, but he did know that Ferdie was a good man under it all and he would not have him treated cruelly for a temper he couldn't control.

Jace chuckled and gave him a grin back if she'd let me i'd walk to the ends of the earth for her. He shifted then.

Fang listened to the beta speak, the fact that it had been Fox that caused this ongoing turmoil managed to surprise him. He shifted himself a little, suddenly uncomfortable. Surrounding himself by females must be a coping mechanism He mumbled, with a chuckle whilst Jace continued.

The last sentence caused a smile to spread over the halfbreeds face. For a moment he had his own feelings echoed in this beast before him. Neutral ground huh? So when's that going to happen? I mean I'm no expert on geography but it seems to be swiftcurrents neutral areas are a bit closer than the edge of the world. The coy smile returning when he spoke.

Jace looked up and grinned I'm not sure if it's that or if he wants to have choices for next year. Ferdie did have a lot of females around lately but sometimes that was just the way it fell. Now if only one red furred imp would come and stay too, but he was fairly certain that if Ferdie added her into his choices he just may flip out completely and totally.

Jace chuckled Well first i have to find a way to get a message to her, may Aryn will take one for me. And then I need to be able to walk without screaming in agony. that male Scimitar for lack of better words he fucked me up pretty damn good. I tore something on the inside so i'm kinda stuck at the moment.

Fang snickered at the small jab at their alpha, His opinions of Ferdie were out for everyone to see, he had no need in pretending to like the large male. His indifference would likely end in a beat-down sooner our later. But until then, he kept up his attitude.

A frown spread over his face at the mention of pain, and injury he was in. By all accounts Jace had it coming, but it was still a hard thing to see someone stripped of their freedom to move. Yeah, he did a good one, but hey, I'm sure it was worth it right. He left the sentence for a moment, thinking of the predicament the beta was in. You know, I travel through the valley often. ..I could pass on a message if I see one of those current wolves. Keep it simple, vague, organise a place you two could meet up. He offered a smile and wink at his words. He didn't think any of the swiftcurrent wolves would be inclined to pass on a message from Jace for Leaf, but Fang found himself empathetic, so one of them might be too.

Jace narrowed his eyes at the snicker but otherwise kept his comment to himself, he couldn't back them up with anything physical right now anyway, so he needed to pick his battles carefully.

Jace looked at him and spoke softly no it was not worth it I acted rashly and without thinking and now I am down for the count if they should try and retaliate or something else. I cannot hunt for the pack, I cannot defend the pack I was foolish and I deserved it, but it was not worth it. Leaf told me I needed to stop this in a manner of speaking I didn't realize what she meant until now. And she was right. It did not good to be hurt when you needed to protect others. It was good to protect yourself too.

Jace laughed outloud at the sheer thought of anyone delivering a message for a sunspire wolf thank you Fang very much, but there is no wolf that will do that without ripping your face off first and I do not wish you to have to fight or even get hurt for me and my selfish desires. So Thank You but no thank you.

So here it was sitting in front of him, it seemed to be desperate exasperation incarnate. Tilting his head at the wounded male he pressed his lips together in a small pout. I'm not going to pretend to know you well or anything, but you don't seem like the sort who would give up on this little wolf just because of cultural differences. The coy smile returned, a slight devious note in his voice.

He looked around them once again as he thought about Jace's situation, thinking back on a phrase he'd heard once, he spoke. You know, you haven't really lost her until you accept failure and give up. Do you think there's a way to see her again?

Jace chuckled a flash of teeth and blue eyes and spoke softly I am not going to give up on my imp, of that Ican promise you, but right now I cannot fight for her in the physical sense so I will sit here and bide my time and think of what to do and how to get her at least to neutral territory closer to the sunspire. Unfortunately though I am fairly certain that Bazi knows how I feel, she may try and deter Leaf.

Jace chuckled again, the Fang he wasn’t very respectful, but he amused the beta male immensely. He shook his head and said quietly I don’t think I know, I just have to figure it out, that’s all.
Letting out a soft tsk, he had to admire the betas resolve, despite his offset opinion of not being capable of doing much now. For the moment he sat quietly looking on the dark beast, broken and bruised. Well, as long as you're not giving up.

The half-breed looked around quickly, having decided he got about as much information as he was able to out of the Beta he began to move. Well Jace, let me know if you need a hand catching your imp. he offered a coy wink before getting up and trotting off. Leaving the black beast to his own devices.
