@Caiaphas :)

Huā took her time as she paced lightly beside the unfamiliar river in the direction of the sea. The strong, chaotic winds were troublesome- they threatened to knock her small frame over- and yet- she had no desire to head inland towards calmer weather. Even though the ocean and the air and the sky seemed angry here, Huā was drawn to the water like a child to a candy shop. Heading into the forest for too long would bother her- restricting her view of the sky or the sea. So, despite the winds, she kept heading in this direction. In the distance she could see the unusually gigantic waves as they rose up, and then crashed, back into the rest of the water.

At this time it seemed the coast was somewhat devoid of wolves. 他们觉得这里不安全...? She wondered to herself with a snicker. What she was perhaps too oblivious to realize was that, it was, in fact, quite dangerous here. The wind and water that she saw as her friends could quickly become her enemies at any time if Mother Nature decided to let loose. But rather than being cautious enough to head inland- she instead enjoyed the peace. Without other wolves nearby she could relax without being disturbed from her concentration on nature and alone time.
hope you don't mind, but I've been wanting one too so why not all combo! Feel free to not notice her

I can't read hover text but she wouldn't understand it anyway <3

With the ongoing hunger, Rosalyn had continued to lose weight.  Combined with her scars and the lackluster treatment her coat now boasted, she'd taken on an almost feral aspect, affected with a dull apathy as weeks trailed with no trace.

What little food she did find, she shared with @Cam, provided the boy still trailed after her.  He was not her own but, as with Fennec, he was company.  She did not chase him away, regardless of the toll it took sharing.  She was not a wolf who enjoyed prolonged solitude.

That did not mean she wished to extend her circle further, however.  She was flitting along the coast when she spotted the other woman, and paused, her single sharp golden eye reading intently.  It did not appear that she had anything worth taking, though.  Disappointed, Rosalyn made to slip away, wraithlike as she'd appeared in the first place.
he followed after rosalyn. what else could he do? he didn't see any way of locating his family in the near future, and besides, he'd grown a kind of fondness toward the woman. she shared her food with him, for which he was grateful. if it was fish, he gobbled it down readily. land animals, well. . .he was reluctant, but also starving. and there didn't seem to be much prey to choose from, these calamitous days.

cam, too, was thinner than usual, which was something given his frame was wiry to begin with. his coat was dull and unkempt, and he kept quiet throughout most of the journey, merely taking in his surroundings and trying to glean some interest from the little things, rather than focusing on what he'd lost.

the coast was different than before. debris littered the shores, standing water was abundant, and the smell of dead and rotting things permeated the air. cam was just about to ask rosalyn what on earth had happened here when he spotted the slender brown woman nearby, walking along the engorged river. his ears shoved forward, nostrils flaring as he tried to pick up her scent.

she didn't look familiar, but maybe she knew something about either his or his companion's family. he glanced shyly toward rosalyn, wondering what she thought of approaching the stranger—a direction she didn't seem to be too keen on at the moment.
okkk soooo i didnt realize that lauren just wanted me to move on w this thread w/o her but I had been waiting on her cuz I misunderstood. im super rusty on rp etiquette rn T.T I wanna apologize for making yall wait SO long and I promise that I will be replying within 1-2 days from now on--- I'm so sorry ; __ ;

Huā's ears twitched backward as she heard the slightest noise of approach behind her. She continued her slow walk, debating whether to turn. She was not one who particularly enjoyed company in her times of relaxation, but her curiosity got the best of her.

She swung her charcoal head backwars to look. Two strangers, together in silence. They juxtaposed eachother in an intriguing way- both looking as dull and unkempt as Huā, but the boy had something of a feline elegance to his figure, while the woman looked rough around the edges, face and ears scarred and tattered. But the two seemed to be together- that is how it appeared to Huā.

The woman already seemed disinterested in her, and she was prepared to return to her walk, but the younger boy seemed intrigued. Her blue-green eyes stared at him, expressionless. She wanted to watch them leave before she continued- but with the boy's nose twitching like crazy attempting to catch her scent, she wondered if an interaction would arise.
They were seen before she could leave, most likely due to Cam's approach behind her.  Rosalyn felt an irrational brush of irritation at the surmised delay (though it had not even occurred yet).  She did pause, however, casting one more look.

Cam's question was wordless, but Rosalyn answered it vocally, not bothering to keep her voice down.  She has nothing for us.

But almost immediately, a thought occurred.  Unless you know what became of Rusalka?  Or the willows?  She didn't even bother with an introduction, asking her questions abruptly and with obvious impatience.
she has nothing for us—how could she tell with just a glance? cam looked back at the woman, eyes narrowed. before he could speak, rosalyn had cut in, asking about rusalka and the willows.

elysium, he clarified in a small voice, then fell silent, waiting for the other to respond.

in the meantime, he got lost in her eyes. they looked like the ocean, but brighter. like sunlight on the waves. he continued to stare at her in the moments that passed, not realizing how awkward he must appear.
When Rosalyn decided that Huā had "nothing for them", the unkempt lady was ready to continue on her merry way. She was partway through turning back around already, when suddenly the raggedy stranger spoke again. Spoke of things which Huā had no idea about, and spoke with some hurry and impatience. Rusalka... the willows... And then, the boy added a comment of his own- Elysium. His innocently childsh gaze bore into her own as if in some trance. Why was he staring at her like that? 他没有大脑吗? She wondered silently to herself with an internal chuckle.

Anyway, the slew of words they threw to her were meaningless in her eyes. "What you speak, I don't know. You were right first. I have nothing for you." She had grown impatient herself, by this couple of strangers disturbing her walk with their presence. Only looking for information to benefit them. How typical. And then, in response to their strange words of the common language which she could not understand, she threw out her own words which she knew would be indecipherable to their ears. "再见, 老太太. 再见, 宝宝." Despite this comment, she remained still, her sharp gaze cutting into them as if prompting them to leave without her words.
always mobile so can't read hover!! Let me know if I ever assume wrong tone ^^

It was no surprise when she confirmed it.  Rosalyn felt only the barest hint of disappointment.  A reminder, though, on his family's name, had in fact been necessary.  She'd forgotten it.  Elysium.

She turned to leave immediately, then hesitated.  There were no further words needed from her.  At one time, she might have bandied with this woman, but currently she just felt empty.  She had nothing for her either, so perhaps the trade was fair after all.  Cam seemed interested, intently so, and that was her only reason for stopping.

if you two want to go a few rounds feel free to skip me! I'll jump in as wanted
she didn't know. cam sighed, staring toward rosalyn, before a stream of words he didn't recognize came from her lips. the boy gaped at her once more, transfixed now not by her eyes but by her speech. what did it mean? what had she said? did it even matter?

he opened his mouth to reply and then shut it once more, feeling self-conscious. he didn't really have anything to offer her, either.

okay, cam responded blankly, a little mournfully, and then began to move closer to rosalyn again. he just wanted answers, someone who knew the truth. apparently, they would have to wait for that.
dw dw lol! she just like bye old woman bye little kid lol! I dont see this thread going anywhere haha so i think unless anything happens, my next post may be my last(?) :P

The dark woman made to leave again, but hesitated. Meanwhile, the boy only stared more, seemingly shaken by her foreign words. A sneaky little grin crept onto the girl's face at his expression. Then she spoke loudly, as if calling across the sands, wondering if his eyes could widen bigger, if his jaw could drop lower. "什么, 怎么了? 难道你不说中文吗? 太伤心了...现在我们不可以聊天儿这个Rusalka, 这个Elysium..." She smirked to herself, wondering what further effect her words may have on the precious little kid. Surely it sounded like babbling to them, but she had dropped a bit of their own babbling in there, so maybe they'd be intrigued.
for if you cant hover, heres the trans of what she said here lol: What, what's wrong? Can't you speak my language? How unfortunate... now we can't chat about this Rusalka, this Elysium...
