He had been keeping busy lately; hunting when able and throwing whatever was caught into the caches all the while venturing out to look for any evidence of his family and still there was nothing. So today he kept to himself and took a patrol.
The constable was still advised to take it easy, but as days passed and her leg healed, she couldn't help but find the need to stretch, to work her muscles and keep her body strengthened. Speedy informed her that soon she would be able to perform her duties freely as long as she took it easy, something she looked forward to deeply.

Today her legs carried her to the borders. Rarely has she ever found a danger at the edge of the territory that required her to act, so she was willing to take the risk today. It wasn't long until Akida's form came into view, also moving along the edges of their land. Akida. Ira gave a nod as she caught up, moving to fall in sync for the dark man. How has your settling gone? Are you adjusting well?
The borders were silent today it had seemed and the man was just strolling alongside the border when he heard his name called and he noticed the woman that had allowed him to stay within her pack. "Evening Ms. Ira, I am settling in well thank you. Just getting adjusted to the borders."
She was pleased to hear he was settling. Surely he would want to seek out his family eventually, but winter was always a hard time to travel. Ideally, she would have sought out her own family by now to update them of the events that occurred and...let them know they were ok. Hieronymous was a blessing for her worried mind, ensuring that they were doing alright. They felt the effects of the quakes, but luckily no one was harmed.

That's good. I know some are hesitant to be here with the lack of shelter, but our options truly are pressed right now. Yes, on one side they had large mountains, too much for herself and potentially the pups or weaker members, the other side a river. This was close to home, and until the snow cleared....it was home. Her gaze scanned the empty plains ahead for any stray wolves. On the bright side, it was easy to see any threats coming their way.
In reality Akida almost had forgotten how hard it was to care for so many, when his decisions meant so much and to be frank he sometimes missed it but at the same time he knew he wouldn't be able to do it again. So he was sympathetic to her in this time. "I understand and I'm sure things will begin to get better soon. " all he really had left was his optimism. "I will most likely be venturing a bit farther into the surrounding territories for prey as well as taking a visit to I believe my son in law spoke of a pack called Easthollow so maybe they sought out shelter there." He knew he had to at least try.
Akida acted as a light of hope, the potential of things getting better was becoming more and more likely. Even some prey had started to return to the area, although it was still scarce. All they had to do was make it to spring... Admittedly, she missed the forest of their first location. Patrolling had been so much more interesting then when you actually had to look at your surroundings. Now with the snow and fields, Kaistleoki just felt barren.

Ira had forgotten how open she felt in Easthollow, let alone how long it took her to adjust to the rolling fields with bison, but they had survived so they shall too. I appreciate it Akida. If you can provide some food for Speedy, she surely needs it most right now. The healer had done so much for her and Evergreen and on top of that, she still had her kids, sacrificing her meals for their sake. If anyone deserved it, it was Speedy. I know the way to Easthollow well, I spent a long time there. They were in an alliance with Elysium, it's possible your family did retreat to a near by pack.
It seemed the words he spoke boosted the woman's spirits and that's really all the man could really ask for. When she spoke of the female he took her name into account and would be sure to bring his next kill to her. "I will definitely bring her my next catch and if there is anything else needed of me feel free to let me know." He wanted to help as much as he could. They had taken him in when they were already struggling and for that he would be eternally grateful.

He listened to the rest of what the woman spoke of and she was aware of Easthollow and he couldn't be more pleased. "Which direction is it in? Just so I have a general idea of where I'm going." The last thing the male wanted to do was go the wrong direction and get lost again.
She walked slowly as the man spoke happy to hear that their healer would be getting something for her hard work. Of course. Pausing, Ira glanced to the mountains and gestured with her muzzle. Beyond the mountain range, southeast. Their tall stones sit atop a hill marking their land, it's hard to miss. My father and his mate run the pack, you can call for either Valette or Greyback.
He smiled and took in all of the information that she was giving him on how to get to East hollow where hopefully his family were there safe and well. "Thank you very much miss, I won't be long." He stated simply
The Count gave a swift nod as Akida announced his departure. Stay safe, the mountains can be dangerous Ira would wait a moment to watch the man depart before going back to her makeshift den to rest.
