After a tour of what was around, Soleil circled back toward the main area where most wolves would harbor about. A normalicy that she tended to stay around, keeping more closer inside the borders ever since wandering out to Blackfeather Woods, and causing a mental scar of fear. She wouldn't admit to being afraid of going out- but she's horrifed, ok.

"Inna," the lavender one smiled, "what do you think of Kaistleoki?" Not many would be suited to a more plain-home, but she very much preferred it compared to the black woods.
Inna had forgotten how much talking would be involved" when she joined a pack. At least Soleil was kind. Come to think of it, Soleil was the kindest wolf she had ever met. The Count was kind too, letting her into the pack and all, but... Inna was slightly frightened by the all-business way of her. Inna would much rather be alone, listening to birds twitter. But alas, she was part of a pack now.
"Well, it's kind of... exposed. It is harder to sneak up on prey, and I feel vulnerable. But at least there is prey to be had, even if it is sparse." Inna was just being honest, but she did love the night. The stars were visible, and they were beautiful. "What about you?"
"I understand," they had the same thoughts, "you get used to it." She did, and now doesn't notice too much being so out in the open. Their fields are large, and none would be so wise to simply enter it with the borders marked. Deep within, where they lay, "we also have the surrounding areas to hunt in." While not theres, still was used as a hunting ground.

"I enjoy the wolves," she smiled, "a home can be anywhere as long as your family is there."
I'm going to be gone this weekend, please excuse the little break. :)
Inna didn't think she would ever get used to being in such a wide open space. She felt like something was going to attack from above. She was attacked by some sort of eagle while she was wandering a field outside the Teekon Wilds, and though there was no lasting damage, it was one of the scariest things she had been through. But she was even more confused by what Soleil said next. Home is where your family is? "What..what does that mean? The family part, that is. I thought family was just for pups. And then one day your mom leaves you, so you leave and live on your own." Inna's tone wasn't angry, just curious. That was how family worked. It's not... home. Home is when you can defend a piece of territory and call it your own. All your own. But then why did wolves live in packs?
all is good!! don't worry about it!! i take a bit anywho LOL

"You know, I only had my dad who passed away a while ago. I was mainly raised by relatives." Soleil started to explain, "but I felt like an outsider, you know? They weren't family. I didn't feel warm, and comforting with them." She closed her lavender eyes, and pictured herself with her daddy.. A warm man, who despite not taking her, came to visit as much as he could. Soothe words of love, her father, whome sadly was no longer here, "they weren't my home. I was raised there, but I had no love."

Opening up, she smiled warmly at Inna, "you make your family."
"I guess so. I just- don't get why anyone would want a family, is all. It just seems like an extra responsibility. But maybe it's just because I've never really been close to anyone before." Inna hesitated before continuing. "It doesn't bother me, though. I don't mind being alone. I prefer it, actually." Inna realized that Soleil was the closest thing to a friend she ever had. Not that they were friends, but their conversation was different than most. It wasn't riddled with passive aggressive remarks like her discussions with her siblings were. The words spoken were... friendly. "I suppose I'm really just asking what the point of family is. Why would you want to make one?"
"I like wolves." Soleil was still smiling one, despite the lonesome remarks Inna had made. She knew many had different lifestyles, the enjoyment of being alone, but as well as the need of survival.. However she could not know the others reasons why, she preferred that lifestyle, "I like the comfort of being around, conversations such as this, the warmth of someone near me, and the knowing they'll be there after a hard day." Even if she came back from a tough battle, Kaistleoki would still be here.

That's all that Soleil needs.
Soleil's words made a lot of sense to Inna. She was enjoying this conversation, and she wasn't wishing she was somewhere else. If this is what it feels like to be part of a family, I can understand why some wolves crave it. "Thank you. I understand now. I never would have been able to figure this out on my own." Maybe this whole 'pack' thing isn't that bad at all. Maybe I'll make my family, like Soleil said you could. I wonder what else there is to learn. "You said something about making a family- how do you do that? Do you meet a wolf and just know, or is it something that develops gradually?"
"Family in a way, can start like that," she chuckled, "but it is also who you are close to. Family is who you choose- not who is by blood." Some may curse at her for saying, but she believed blood did not mean everything. Some family betrayed each other, but because they are related, does that mean forgiveness? No, it is who you make family..

"Though, it is nice to meet someone too." Someone to sweep you off your feet is nice.
I can't think of anything else to say, want to end it after one last post?

Inna nodded thoughtfully. Maybe someday I will have a family. But it seems like if I do, I have to choose one. Soleil sure is good at talking. In fact, I feel a lot better now. I wonder if being good at talking is a side effect of having a family. "So Kaistleoki is kind of your family now that your dad is gone?"
Could it be my family?
ya!

"It is. And now, so are you." Smiling brightly, Soleil was true to her words. Now that her dearest papa had gone, the family of aunts and uncles were not the warmth she wanted, and now, she is calling Kaistleoki her home. To her, they're all family, despite no blood between them, and she hoped there would be a day they could consider the same.
