But she would appear at the moment. She had returned to the island; she knew now what they had to do here. But it seemed someone else wanted this place too, as she caught a dull brown streak further down the land, filling caches of her own. Huā speeds forward, fully intending to scare away an intruder for the first time. It is only then that she squints, recognizing the smudge more and more as she got closer. Was that Ruò? She barely remembered the recluse's name- the girl had been so isolated at home. Then how had she managed to wander up here? 呀,若?
She calls hesitantly as she stands a few yards away. Would the girl even bother to talk to her?
The girl dryly calls her name back, approaching her casually. Huā's brow furrows- the girl was a tad strange. No explanation for being here, nor any eagerness to greet her. Just approaching every part of life with a totally lax attitude.
Knowing that Ruò wasn't one for unnecessary talk, she inquires 你在这里会住跟我们吗?
She figured the girl must know something about the forming group- otherwise why would she be here?
Ying told her. Ying, who had been gone for two- three? days now. Ying, whom she'd searched the lands for with no success. She does not acknowledge Ruò's first comment. She could not talk about Ying now, lest she break down. Instead she would wait for nuvujak to return.
The girl then tells Huā she was hunting for caches. Huā nods at her happily- how pleasant it was to see people working for this already! Huā decides not to say another word, but she was sure her message would be clear when she began to stalk away. Further down the shore sat a couple of seagulls- she figured between the two of them, they'd be able to get something.
rolled in tabletop to see if she would catch one, and she does :)
Ruò followed just behind, but left the lead up to the siren. The beach was not a place where one could hide; there was little cover. When hiding could not be used, speed was necessary.
So after only a moment more of keeping low to the ground, she rises, rushing at a full speed towards the couple. The birds heads swivel to face her- but she's already upon them. Picking the smaller one as her target, she leaps, jaws wrapping around its neck with marvelous speed. It's friend squawks, floating up into the air.
She snapped its neck with one twist of her head, but the second seagull swooped from above, attempting to bite and scratch at her ears. She swings her head back and forth, attempting to shoo it off. But she wondered if somehow, Ruò would be able to take advantage of this- perhaps she could still grab the pest out of the sky.
wrap soon?
Unfortunately, Ruò doesn't have her luck. At least she rids Huā of the pest though, and the mermaid turns to give Ruò and appreciative grin.
谢谢你!
She chirps to her cousin. Lifting the gull she had killed off the ground, its neck drooping lifelessly, she began to head back towards where Ruò had been before. She figures the girl will follow, and coming upon the cache, she drops the prey in. All the while her tail wags as she feels more secure about the stability of the forming pack.
