East side of the Sleeping Guardians. Could work for any trades o: I'm going for Caretaker, Outrider and Warden or Warrior.

Shadow's words replayed in his mind. He'd spoken of responsibility and that Swiftcurrent Creek wasn't a place that he could just laze around, have a meal and stroll merrily on with his life. Elijah knew that from the start. He'd grown up in a pack – knew that he had to play his role and push his weight and a bit extra even. So he had been a touch annoyed, spoken to as if he were an ignorant pup that'd never been within pack life before. The male had every right to be cautious, he knew that.
If Eli was in Shadow's paws, he probably would have done the same. That was probably why it was so frustrating.
Eli pulled a pout on his lips. Dark tipped ears were flattened back as he marched forward, his nose leading him around the unfamiliar territory. The agouti tank of a wolf was trying to distract his mind away, and gradually, began to fixate on his new home. Ears flicked forward abruptly, head tilting as the ground started to fall. The Creek was ahead of him, with the same rocky dip repeating on the other side surrounded by lush trees. The slight morning breeze aided in giving him an excited shiver. He's never seen a place quite like this. Eli stood on the eastern rise, looking downwards at the steep slope in wonderment if it'd be safe to trek down.

I wanted to leave this open for others so it doesn't seem like I'm hogging it but Shadow was like 'nope' so yeah. Outrider thread? BTW, your table is gorgeous! :O

The silver wanderer had been thinking about the newcomer, Elijah, wondering what trades he would go for. Today he was up for some exploring, so if the youthful agouti was up for it, they could go do some exploring together. He had been thinking about going near the sea again, and he would do that if he was alone but today, just to be nice, he decided to ask the newcomer.

He trotted to the Creek edge and lapped up some water before a shape on one of the Sleeping Guardians. He crossed the Creek, shaking his fur dry before ascending the Sleeping Guardian. His gaze caught a flash of agouti fur and the scent of Elijah. Good. He didn't need to send out a summoning howl.

Hey, you. Elijah. he barked and made his way over to the newcomer wondering how he was going to react now.

Bwha! I don't mind at all. :D We were gonna have a thread w/ 'em anyhow and Outrider sounds good. Thank you though! Yours is as well * o*

It must be safe, then.
The sound of splashing water alerted him. At first he wondered if it was a pack member he hadn't met yet... There was also a sliver of worry that, perhaps, a stranger had somehow snuck through their Creek. But his blue eyes landed on an acquainted figure instead. Shadow. Ears flicked back, his posture casual – submissive as the silver male was a higher rank than him.
He wouldn't lie, he wasn't exactly bouncing off the walls in excitement to see him. First impressions typically meant a lot to Eli, but since he was a pack mate of his now, part of him hoped that with him obviously no longer being a threat that Shadow would calm... that he wouldn't be quite so grumpy. Perhaps he was just one of those overly serious wolves? Eli was about to find out.
“Hey, Shadow!” The agouti male stayed where he was, reclining down to sit on his haunches with the slight tilt of his head. “What's up?”

“Hey, Shadow!” said Elijah, ears tilting back. "What's up?” The silver wolf hid a smirk. You will address me politely and respectfully. he growled, hiding his amusement but he could not keep the facade up for long. After a moment, he touched his nose to the younger male's forehead and laughed. Just kidding.

He sat down next to Elijah, his posture confident and turned his icy platinum gaze onto the newcomer. So, Eli. What trades are you working towards? Warden, the ones that act as a defend systen, warrior, those that fight, outrider, the ones that act as ambassadors, recruiters and exploreres. Gamekeeper, the hunters.... I'm an Outrider.

He tilted his head slightly as he gazed at the agouti male thoughtfully, awaiting his answer.

<style type="text/css">.Shadow{width:400px; margin:0px auto; padding:250px 25px 20px 20px; border:3px double #fff; background-image:url('http://i62.tinypic.com/2v29shw.png'); background-position: top; background-color:#1e6b3f; background-repeat:no-repeat; text-align:justify;} .Shadow-in {width: 385px; padding: 10px; background-color: rgba(255,255,255,0.35); text-align: justify;} .Shadow q {color:#bad2ca; font:13px/2 georgia bold;} .Shadow p {text-indent:30px; color:#2e3f3f; font:11px/2 verdana; margin:0px;}</style>
“You will address me politely and respectfully.”
Oh. Shit. He screwed up, didn't he? Eli's face scrunched, disgruntled by the exchange as the silver male smirked at him. What a jerk. He knew he could get away with it, too, as he was a higher rank than him. The agouti male puffed the right side of his cheek, becoming tense. He ducked his head, offering an apologetic smile, lips parting about to correct himself when the lad reached forward, booping his nose to Eli's forehead with a laugh and uttering a “just kidding”.
“I think you're trying to give me a heart attack and it's not nice,” he whined with a heavy pout on his lips. It, however, quickly turned into a cheeky smile – glad that Shadow was just joking with him and he hadn't been serious about this whole “you must kiss the ground I walk on or I will tear you a new one”. Shadow took a seat next to him, Eli brought it upon himself to inch closer, nudging his shoulder with his pack mate's and wagging his tail.
“Hmm,” he paused. Eli had thought seriously about what sort of trade he'd be going for, so he wasn't quite sure why he subconsciously paused. “I want to become a Caretaker and Outrider... maybe a Warden or Warrior too, but my main focus for now is the first two. I'm pretty good with taking care of pups and entertaining others... and exploring is my hobby.”
“In my old pack I would tell my Ma that I was heading out and explore for days at a time. Sometimes ended up meeting folk while I was out that needed a home.”
Thus, Eli met many that became friends. He validated that they'd make a good pack member and invited them to come home with him. Of course, his Alpha had to approve of them joining and he was very good about going to her first.

“I think you're trying to give me a heart attack and it's not nice,”

The silver outrider smiled as the pout the younger male had turned into a cheeky grin. He did not object when Eli nudged his shoulders to his own and wagged his tail, sometimes he did like to have a bit of fun. He wasn't all serious. He waited patiently as the younger male paused in his answer.

The ashen wanderer's face remained thoughtful as Elijah spoke, tilting his head as he listened. Outrider. That word alone brought a smile to his lips but he waited until the younger male had finished. Good. I'm going for a bit of adventuring, exploring and I wish that you come with me. it was also a test for him. I'm thinking about exploring the area around the coast and the sea, maybe even the islands. If that's alright with you.

He waited patiently for his answer.

<style type="text/css">.Shadow{width:400px; margin:0px auto; padding:250px 25px 20px 20px; border:3px double #fff; background-image:url('http://i62.tinypic.com/2v29shw.png'); background-position: top; background-color:#1e6b3f; background-repeat:no-repeat; text-align:justify;} .Shadow-in {width: 385px; padding: 10px; background-color: rgba(255,255,255,0.35); text-align: justify;} .Shadow q {color:#bad2ca; font:13px/2 georgia bold;} .Shadow p {text-indent:30px; color:#2e3f3f; font:11px/2 verdana; margin:0px;}</style>
Since it would take about a week give or take (probably longer as Eli would like to explore the territories he comes across) to get to Sequoia Coast, would you be up for having multiple threads? :) I was thinking... Mount Apikuni -> Northstar Vale -> Porcupine Ridge -> Blacktail Deer Plateau (Borders/possibly checking in with them if it makes sense to?) -> Ravensblood Forest. We don't have to do all of them if you don't wanna, but it would help both their Outrider trades. :D

He seemed to have piqued Shadow's interest the moment he spoke up about the position of Outrider. Of course, he thought that a serious guy like him would be pleased to hear him wanting to follow in his footsteps so to speak. Or maybe he was just glad that Eli was thinking things through and wasn't so much of a numbskull as he thought? Who knew. With Shadow happy, Elijah was happy... simple as that. A broad grin curved on his lips at the silver male's smile.
He wanted to take him on an adventuring trip, and maybe... just maybe Elijah decided that he got some brownie points for that. Blue eyes widened a tad, excitement evident in his expression. Exploration trips were one way to win the agouti male over!
“Never been to the sea,” he murmured – his tail wagging a touch faster. From others, he's heard stories about the salty smell in the air, the sand between toes and the crashing waves. It was exciting to think that he may be able to see it for himself soon! “How long will it take?”

That'll be awesome! :) Yeah, sure.

The silver wanderer tilted his head as he thought, alone it was faster as he didn't stop by but with Elijah. Probably a week or more. Probably a week or more for both of us. Are you still up to it? It'll help with your Outrider trade. he said. He smirked. But I wouldn't blame you if you chicken out. it was a test after all, to make up for the unasked questions when they first met.

He turned his gaze to the faraway horizon, wondering whether the new recruit had the guts to go with him or not. They would be alone, without the protection of the pack. Traveling alone was faster and easier but together... More hunts to feed themselves and more time to travel.

<style type="text/css">.Shadow{width:400px; margin:0px auto; padding:250px 25px 20px 20px; border:3px double #fff; background-image:url('http://i62.tinypic.com/2v29shw.png'); background-position: top; background-color:#1e6b3f; background-repeat:no-repeat; text-align:justify;} .Shadow-in {width: 385px; padding: 10px; background-color: rgba(255,255,255,0.35); text-align: justify;} .Shadow q {color:#bad2ca; font:13px/2 georgia bold;} .Shadow p {text-indent:30px; color:#2e3f3f; font:11px/2 verdana; margin:0px;}</style>
Sweet :D

A week or more. It would be a true adventure then, and he'd be stuck with the guy that'd left him on his own the moment he was pronounced a member of Swiftcurrent Creek. Surely, Shadow seemed like a good guy now, but... what would happen if he left him stranded somewhere else? Eli trusted himself to get out of that pickle, however, so he decided that seeing the ocean would be worth tolerating Shadow.
“Nah,” he blurted out. He wasn't gonna chicken out! “I'll go. I wanted to explore more of the area anyhow.” The Pi beamed widely, shifting before he stood up slowly – observing the ranked male for his reaction. Thankfully with two wolves, they could likely catch something more than a duck to share, and assuming Shadow knew these territories better than Eli... he'd know where to go.
“Anything we should do before we set out?” Other than let the rest of the pack know that they'd be down by two for a week.

We'll get this up to 10 post and fade.

The silver wanderer smiled and rose to his paws, his gaze on the horizon as he answered the younger male. Good. We'll need to grab something to eat before going. Come with me, we'll get something at the pack cache. And make sure you remember this place well, it will be your home for sometime. If you choose not to leave.

Many others that had joined the Creek had chose to leave it as soon as they came. Hopefully Elijah wouldn't be one of them, they wouldn't have any loyal wolves left if each came and left. How were they to have a future?

He shook that thought away and began descending down the Sleeping Guardian, tail flicking, inviting Elijah to follow.

<style type="text/css">.Shadow{width:400px; margin:0px auto; padding:250px 25px 20px 20px; border:3px double #fff; background-image:url('http://i62.tinypic.com/2v29shw.png'); background-position: top; background-color:#1e6b3f; background-repeat:no-repeat; text-align:justify;} .Shadow-in {width: 385px; padding: 10px; background-color: rgba(255,255,255,0.35); text-align: justify;} .Shadow q {color:#bad2ca; font:13px/2 georgia bold;} .Shadow p {text-indent:30px; color:#2e3f3f; font:11px/2 verdana; margin:0px;}</style>
Should be at 11 posts now! :D Exit Eli.

His head nodded immediately – agreeing that filling their stomachs before they headed off was a wise idea. Otherwise they'd need to hunt soon, and that wasn't the greatest start to their little trip. Elijah waited for Shadow to take the lead, following after him as Shadow flicked his tail. They were descending down the side of one of the Sleeping Guardians. Ears perked with blue eyes scanning their location. He wanted to make sure he'd be able to find the pack's cache on his own, and was grateful that Shadow decided to escort him there this time.

I'll conclude this and get this archived. Exit Shadow.

Elijah would be a good recruit if he proved himself in this trip. He needed to see his skills, what he was good at and what he was bad at. A smile curved up his lips as he remembered his first exploring trip with Bazi. Oh how awkward was it. Hopefully this one would be different though awkwardness around Eli seemed almost impossible.

He made his way towards the pack's cache, the route of their travel forming in his mind. But this time they would explore the places they had gone to. When on his own, he did not linger for long but he planned to explore, not just travel.
