The silver wolf was once again pacing at the side of the Creek, his expression impassive as thoughts swirled around inside. Lost in his own world. His paws were wet from the Creek waters when he wandered too close to the edge but he didn't seem to realize it. Didn't seem to care.

Finally one paw slipped and he was shook out of his thoughts. Shit! he muttered as he pulled himself up from the river, shaking the water out of his fur and slumping down tiredly at the edge of the water. Silver gaze on the rising sun, finding it easier to concentrate on his thoughts when staring at the sunrise. Pacing in the dark didn't really help.

A sigh escaped him, life seemed to have taken it upon itself to make his life hard. Lately it seemed like he was on a roller coaster that never seemed to end or slow down, just endless problems that all seemed to involve him in someway. Some he chose to have it involved in his life, for example the Sveijarns leaving but others, he didn't choose for them to be in his life. They just wished for him to have a hard life.

The day was young -- the sun only just beginning to rise in the distance. Sleep evaded him -- instead, his thoughts were upon a certain pale female who had haunted his sleep with alluring dreams. He couldn't quite place why she drew him in so, but there it was. She haunted him, and Scimitar, who had very little experience of wooing women, wasn't sure of what he should really do about it.

She was young. She was beautiful. And unfortunately, she was an Alpha, and by the nature of the wolf, she would be breeding come the time. Already his thoughts had trailed to his competition when the time came -- Shadow being his primary suspect.

It seemed the moment the greyscale male entered his thoughts that he appeared. The beast was pacing -- it would seem sleep and rest eluded him as well. His brows furrowed as he watched him for a moment -- he was rising in the ranks quickly, and despite the red flags that rose in his mind at the simple thought of the silver male sweeping his ivory lady off her paws, he could not find it in himself to dislike the guy.

Announcing his presence with a low bark, the agouti male strode forward, his eyes studying the Gamma with weariness. "You're up early."

"You're up early."

A low bark interrupted his thoughts, he already knew who it was before the agouti male approached him. "Scimitar, how is being Beta treating you?" he said in a greeting, although he said it rather wearily. Tiredness pricked at his pelt as he turned to look at the Beta with steely platinum eyes, tilting his head in a curious manner. "You're up early too." he said before turning around, gaze on the sun.

"What brings you here to see me?" he asked softly, "Or did you just bump into me?" Eyes flickered over to the dark agouti's face as he curled his tail around his paws wondering why was he here. He had interrupted his thoughts and now he couldn't concentrate, he waited for the Beta's reply quietly.

His eyes scoured the other at the weariness in his voice and the mention of his rank. Perhaps Shadow too was one of the ones unimpressed with what was granted him, and in turn, the newly acclaimed Beta cast him a weary glance of his own, choosing not to respond to the question. If the silver male had something to say, it would simply be best to say it so they could move past it.

Instead, another question was brought to him, and the large male’s shoulders lifted in a shrug as his gaze finally moved from the male, glancing at the creek’s edge with rugged fatigue. Whether Bazi preferred the company of Shadow over him was certainly heavy on his mind, but it did not lessen the male’s worth in his opinion. Scimitar was young, but he also knew when it was unfair to hold something over someone.

“Just couldn’t sleep,” was what he offered in turn, his muzzle tilting back in the direction of his companion as his bright aqua eyes settled upon the top of the silver male’s head.

“Just couldn't sleep,” the Beta answered. The gamma shrugged, "Of course, why else would you be out here?" he said with a tilt of his head, a smirk dancing on his lips as usual. His eyes gleamed as he gazed at Scimitar, he knew about Bazi and him but he didn't seem to have made any move. "Is it about Bazi?" his tone amused. "Thats why you couldn't sleep, right?"

He knew he was probably getting on Scimitar's nerves but he didn't really care, after all why should he? He was too wrapped up in his own problems to care about the new Beta but had decided to channel some of his anger and confusion into a sarcastic comment. He continued to gaze at Scimitar as he licked a paw absentmindedly.

Shadow was a mystery to him – his first impression of the male, the silver wolf had been respectful and even humble. Now, a smirk graced his presence and his tone dripped with sarcasm. Once more, it would seem to Scimitar that his newly established rank had irritated yet another.

He ignored the comment about Bazi – instead, his eyes flickered back to the grey male, regarding him with a quiet contemplation. The other had yet to even submit to him, or show respect in any manner, and the agouti male felt himself bristling – though a carefully placed stoical mask would announce nothing to any onlooker. Instead, he lifted himself to uphold his new position, staring blatantly in Shadow’s eyes in challenge. “If you have something to say, Shadow, then now is the time,” he offered then. If Shadow wanted to piss on his rank – now was the opportunity.

But then again, perhaps the foolish boy was nothing but talk.
<style type="text/css"> r1 {color:#5e6d7c; font-size: 10px;} .r1box {background-color: #ccffffff; width: 500px; margin: auto; background-image: url('http://i.imgur.com/y77SqPt.jpg'); background-repeat: no-repeat; outline: 10px solid #477583;} .r1text {margin: auto; width: 370px; color:#2e5c8a; text-indent: 15px; font-family: rokkit; line-height: 15px; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify; padding-left: 15px; padding-right: 15px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-top: 525px; margin-bottom: 30px;}</style>

He gazed into Scimitar's eyes for a moment before his gaze drifted off towards the sun again. He had no time for the Beta's petty challenge. If his plans went the right way, he would no longer follow and he didn't want Scimitar's rank. He didn't need it, as if he wanted the Creek's Beta rank. “If you have something to say, Shadow, then now is the time,”

The ashen male flashed a faint smile towards Scimitar, "Yes." he replied and paused for a moment before continuing. "You are older and you will be a wiser wolf than Bazi. Make sure she doesn't make any bad choices like Fox did, you're probably the only one she would listen to." he said, his tone serious but not disrespectful.

He rose slowly to his paws, he did not mention whether he wanted the Beta rank or not. That was up for Scimitar to decide.

The grey male stared at him directly -- causing the hackles of the regal to bristle beneath not only the scrutiny, but the disrespect. He shifted it however, seemingly not up to challenge, and Scimitar allowed a moment of silence to stretch between the two.

Shadow spoke then -- a statement that could have been taken seriously had the male not been so close to Bazi in age, and thus, hypocritical. He chuffed quietly at this -- Bazi had a mind of her own, and thus far, she had not done much consulting with her Beta.

But it was moot to rise this topic, nor did he find himself too keen on discussing Bazi with the beast before him. "Care to blow off some steam?" His tone was a deep rumble as he shifted his large figure then -- a behemoth in his own right, but that hadn't stopped Shadow's agility from winning their previous spar. Eager to take away soem tension from his own muscles, Scim knew his best bet was the male before him. If nothing else, at least Shadow made a fine sparring partner.

Lowering his chin to protect his nape, Scimitar's ears flattened and his paws widened in stance for better balance. He would allow the silver male the first move, and the decision for a morning fight.
You wanna use the sparring pits or ?
<style type="text/css"> r1 {color:#5e6d7c; font-size: 10px;} .r1box {background-color: #ccffffff; width: 500px; margin: auto; background-image: url('http://i.imgur.com/y77SqPt.jpg'); background-repeat: no-repeat; outline: 10px solid #477583;} .r1text {margin: auto; width: 370px; color:#2e5c8a; text-indent: 15px; font-family: rokkit; line-height: 15px; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify; padding-left: 15px; padding-right: 15px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-top: 525px; margin-bottom: 30px;}</style>

The Beta did not seem to want to discuss Bazi which drew a faint smirk to his lips, to be honest the emotions he was feeling underneath was totally different from his expression. He flung smirks and winks everywhere and anytime and it was nearly impossible to see through his mask unless he lets you and he was most definitely not letting the agouti male see. "Care to blow off some steam?"

He most certainly did not want to fight with the Beta, not because he was a weaker fighter, they were evenly matched, but because he was thinking and when he was deep in his thoughts he did not want to fight but he wasn't going to let Scimitar think he was all words and no action because it was the opposite way around. He knew he was brilliant and he could prove it.

The sterling outrider swished his tail as he flattened his ears and moved his paws to gain better balance. He had the advantage in this fight, although Scimitar was strong and broad he lacked speed, grace and agility that he possessed and he wasn't weak either and he knew that was what made him dangerous.

Scimitar was met with a smirk and silence -- the silver male rising to the challenge with his own stance. Briefly, the agouti male wondered if the other male realized how obnoxious he came off as with each smirk that pressed to his lips, but Scimitar, while many things, was not one to encourage much in words. Instead, he would try to vent some of his frustration toward a sparring partner he knew to be competent.. and with that, a challenge.

Shadow did not seem to want to make the first move, and so the larger male did. HIs jaws gaping looser, he made to slide forward, his ears flat as his muzzle made to release a calculated bite toward his opponents shoulder -- one that would not maim or break flesh, but one that would certainly awaken his senses.

This was what he needed, and as the adrenaline coursed through him, his other thoughts and frustrations were quickly pushed aside.
