the sound of insistent yapping drew her near. not overly hungry, kacia aimed to only disrupt. like a fire in the middle of a home, she tore through the fox's den site while snapping at the heels of fleeing children. again and again she went about chasing the fox kits while the eerie sound teeth clacking against each other rang loudly in her ears.

eventually the game grew stale, and she pulled away to go lap at the water of a nearby stream. it was quiet for a time until her little playthings decided to retaliate in the form of spitting insults. an uninterested huff was only offered in return as she spun on her heels and made way for the looming walls of the valley that rest in the distance.

He had intended to go out for a hunt- maybe bring some fox meat home for the pregnant @Astara , who surely could use the meal... but the loud noises of the foxes seemed even worse today, and he wondered whether something was afoot in the forest. Toad followed the noises, but as he got closer they seemed to quiet down- piquing his curiosity further.

It was then that he caught sight of her, up ahead.

A deer-like girl, admittedly pretty in an aesthetic sense, though Toad felt no draw towards her. He paused, watching her like a creep for a moment before he realized what direction she was headed- towards the valley from whence he came. Toad began to move then, slipping through the trees to intercept her where he could. The stranger would only be offered silence, though his gaze would read where do you think you're going?, as his tail lashed behind him.
