Merrick had mentioned marking the border to Skoll before, telling him to do it as it is the only place one can enter the pack's borders. If they were protective and guarded this place, then there was a chance that other wolves would stay off and leave them alone more. Not that many bothered Ursus anyway - as far as he was aware, there'd only been a few wolves not interested here and there. Which made sense since the pack was literally surrounded by rocks.

He took to going alone this time, but surely would bring other members eventually, or one could show up themselves. He'd just mention it to the others later on, not sure if Merrick told anyone else yet. Skoll had taken the job since it seemed easy enough, just keep the place marked and make sure no one got too close to the pack.

Stalking through, Skoll made sure to toss his scent onto various things in the place. He had to talk to the others later on about it, maybe gather a couple of the well off wolves. Especially if a fight broke out because of it, even if this place wasn't claimed by a pack, Ursus would have control starting now.
