I didn't mind it :) Monospace fonts have a special place in my heart
Luna made her apologies through his tears, but he paid it no mind. Every time she spoke, he felt the vibration of her voice clearly against him. The raven-furred woman created a form of safety for him that he wasn't used to. The more she spoke, the more he pushed closer to her.
From afar, they may have even looked as lovers. His heart, he knew, was broken. Perhaps it had been since even before Aphrodite. He found himself grasping at the affection that his beautiful friend offered him, taking it like a sickly boy might take a piece of bread given. Like such a boy, he did not know when he might be able to feel such vulnerability again, and so he fell into it.

Well, in every way except emotionally, apparently.
The prince sniffed harshly, trying to rid himself of the welling emotions sitting in the form of snot.
Things will get better,
he said, though he didn't really believe it. He said it mostly to make her feel better.
Uhm.. thank you, you know, for just...
He paused, sitting back from her, looking at her.
Being you.
A weak smile.
