Lenny's mood had dropped. First the month of rain, then Cupid's death, Yuelong leaving, Yao's absence. It was... a lot. She hadn't been keeping up her patrols like she should have been for the past couple days, even though it was sunny out and she felt like she should probably do so.

For the moment, she sulked, splayed out underneath the shadows of one of the trees toward the edge of the territory.

Maybe she'd do something useful later.
Not to mention, also Miriam's son having gone missing. More attackers known as 'The Saints' being the newest drama to keep them on their toes. It would seem as though it was constantly one thing after another for the forest wolves, and it truly was.

Life here had not been easy, at least on an emotional level even though their bullies remained full and happy. It was odd how Kyr had found such happiness on her travels with Belharra, though struggled for survival and now, surviving, had fallen into such trials emotionally.

She wasnt the only one, however. It wasnt just Kyr who had been making herself scarse this time, but Lenny. Finding her, Vallkyrie rounds to her front, lips pulling to one corner of her mug in grim expression.

Just cant catch a break here can we?
Moonstone eyes flickered upward when Kyr approached, and Lenny sighed, sitting up with more effort than would usually be necessary to do so. A small, humorless smile stretched across her muzzle and she shook her head, glancing back off to the side.

"Doesn't feel like it," she admitted, ears pressing back against her skull. "I... just... am I doing a bad job?" Her voice strained slightly and her head lowered. "I'm supposed to, like, guard this place, right? But now Cupid is dead, just like Mathieu, and the kid is missing, and now Yao's gone too, and I just... I'm supposed to protect everyone but..." But everything bad still happened. Lenny wasn't sure what she was doing wrong.
Your a guardian of our territory. She spoke to her sister with a bit of a snap, as though to yank her back a notch so to realize this was none of her fault. What happen to Cupid was out of anyone's control. A freak accident, same as Mathieu. And Hao wondered off, and Asmoses... She trailed off with a bit of a sigh. Maybe the kid didnt know any better, but how are we supposed to do our jobs and watch all these absent mothers kids too? It sounded harsh, maybe. Miriam certainly didnt mean to get lost in the storms, but given the fact that there were bad storms someone with the right head on their shoulders shouldnt have just wandered out of the territory without finding a pup sitter first. Especially given Mal was already out and Simmik busy taking his place. Now Cupid was gone, and Aibreann distant herself...

It is your job to watch for intruders and mark the border and I'm out hunting. We cant do those things and play pup sitter too. Not to mention, no one is really supposed to be traveling alone but with so little help and so many mouths to feed... She trailed off, her sharp shoulders rolling. They couldnt pull everyone's weight, that was for certain.
Her sister's harsh tone was not expected, but it didn't startle the Archer either. But... she was correct. Perhaps it wasn't Lenny's fault that all of these things were happening. After all, she couldn't possibly keep up with everyone... but it felt like she couldn't keep up with anyone

"That's... true. All of it," she agreed softly, ears swiveling sideways. "It's just hard, when it feels like everything is going wrong and you can't fix any of it."

This was her job, she thought. To keep them safe. How was she supposed to cope when she couldn't even do that much?
Her sister, it had seemed through their growing together, was a more delicate sort. Not when it came to sparring, not at all. Though when it came to her emotions. A heart on her sleeve, very caring and devoted, wilder and more expressive emotions which left her more hurt than her more reserved, cautious sister. Kyr would always find a means to protect her sister's emotions while Lenny protected their physical forms. This, however, Kyr felt she could not fix. But would try.

I know... She mused delicately as she found herself lost for words. She came to settle down under the tree her sister sat under. You know, before the floods when I first came along here, there was destruction from earthquakes that happen here. Caused all kinds of a mess. She was happy that she hadn't been around though all of that, but knew mother nature was ever relentless, weeding out the weak. I'm not sure the winter will be any kinder to us. She admitted then, the grim fact unhidden. She only hoped that she could find enough food for the pack and that all of the pups of @Mal survived it.
