It was almost time, he could feel it. The aspiring Praetor sat down just outside the Bypass, tearing at the flesh of a freshly caught rabbit, silver eyes flashing as the stars twinkled from above. He was always calmer at night when the moon shone down on the living creatures below and the stars glittered across the ink-black pelt that was the sky. He wondered if there was anyone else other than himself that stayed him this late at night, probably not.

Swallowing the last bit of rabbit, he gazed quietly up at the stars, lost in his thoughts. Outside he seemed confident, vain, sure that everything would work out but inside he doubted himself although he would never be able to tell anyone that. They were counting on him and he couldn't fail them, not when their future hasn't even started.

The young Roman had been traveling for sometime now, wondering what was happening back home. Was Atilius the current Alpha? After all he was the oldest and the second most skilled beside him. He hoped that the pack was thriving under the rule of his brothers, or his father if he wasn't dead yet. Somehow the emperors always got murdered by their successor. It was a cruel world, the world of the Romans. The agouti roman sent a quick prayer to Mars, the god of war to guide him to a suitable pack.

He stiffened, a gentle flare of his nostrils brought the scent of an unfamiliar wolf towards him, he paused wondering whether to continue on his path towards the strange male or to just avoid him. But perhaps he was a from a pack, a pack that he could join and start over again. Common sense overruled everything else and slowly made his way towards the stranger. It was a large silver male with bright platinum eyes, sleek fur, long legs and well-muscled.

He seemed to be looking at the stars, quietly the roman approached him. Salve" he said in his native tongue, totally forgetting about the common language in these wilds.

The sterling outrider did not bother to look at the strange wolf that approached until he spoke latin, “Salve" came the word from the other male's mouth. Immediately his bright platinum gaze landed on the agouti male, wondering if he was a roman too. Salve, tu Romanus es?" he spoke in his lightly accented tongue wondering if he was here to join the Bypass. If he was a Roman and wanted to join his pack, he needed to know that just because they shared the same culture, beliefs, traditions and language did not mean he was automatically accepted into the pack.

He curled his tail around his paws elegantly, motioning with a flick of his ears for the loner to do the same too. He wasn't in a mood to fight anyone, it was night and he was tired, he doubted he would be able to fight even a still object. He was probably going to collapse halfway through and that was not a good first impression.

“Salve, tu Romanus es?" came the reply, surprising the agouti roman who had just realized he spoke in the wrong language. He nodded hurriedly, a small smile creeping over his face. Ita enim es tu?" he spoke softly as he sat down, tail thumping once against the ground as he gazed at the other wolf who was probably also a roman. His latin was perfect, it was obvious that it was his native language.

If this wolf was from a pack, he was lucky. It seems to be a good place to start over again, filled with lush grass and verdant hills. And he was getting tired of traveling alone, he yearned for the company of other wolves again and perhaps he would be able to find his new home here. Ecce ego ad te sarcinam si me ad te" he spoke calmly, dipping his head as he did so, showing the respect the other deserved.
<style type="text/css"> r1 {color:#5e6d7c; font-size: 10px;} .r1box {background-color: #ccffffff; width: 500px; margin: auto; background-image: url('http://i.imgur.com/y77SqPt.jpg'); background-repeat: no-repeat; outline: 10px solid #477583;} .r1text {margin: auto; width: 370px; color:#2e5c8a; text-indent: 15px; font-family: rokkit; line-height: 15px; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify; padding-left: 15px; padding-right: 15px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-top: 525px; margin-bottom: 30px;}</style>

Nae ego quoque Romanae" he answered in his native tongue, a bright gleam appearing in his platinum eyes. He hadn't realized how much he missed speaking latin, why did he even stop speaking his native tongue anyways. Was it because English was the common tongue here or because of other stuff. Probably because of both, but he'd left the past behind him now and he was free to speak his native tongue again.

When the other requested to join his pack, dipping his head in respect as he did so, the silver roman analyzed him and sniffed him trying to see if he had any sickness or disease with him. No. So he asked Quid agis molestie? Infirmitates tuas virtutes quae?" he said coolly.

So the other was also a Roman, a brief smile graced the agouti male's lips at his words but did not speak until the next questions were issued. He guessed by now that this wolf was probably the Praetor of the pack, or the Alpha as the wolves of these lands called the leader. Et iumenta, et inedia mori fidus, si opus est, defendere pervenisse. Pugnantis et etiam duas magnus medicus sum. Suspicor enim infirmum est, quomodo meis semper sum velle ad sacrificium meum, et animam meam coniectis odio errare." he said with his head still bowed. He wasn't ashamed of his flaws, everyone had their own and these were his, he was being honest and that was what the Alpha wanted right? That was why he even asked the question.

His gaze drifted to his cream colored paws as he waited for the silver roman's reply hoping that it was a yes. He really wanted a new home, and it was even better that the leader was a roman. But he doubted the silver male would follow the traditional ways, not here in these strange lands where there were no legions or cohorts just random packs scattered all over the places.
<style type="text/css"> r1 {color:#5e6d7c; font-size: 10px;} .r1box {background-color: #ccffffff; width: 500px; margin: auto; background-image: url('http://i.imgur.com/y77SqPt.jpg'); background-repeat: no-repeat; outline: 10px solid #477583;} .r1text {margin: auto; width: 370px; color:#2e5c8a; text-indent: 15px; font-family: rokkit; line-height: 15px; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify; padding-left: 15px; padding-right: 15px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-top: 525px; margin-bottom: 30px;}</style>

The aspiring Praetor smiled slightly at his words, honesty was what he was looking for and the fellow roman had given him what he wanted. Even if it was probably not his fatal flaw, it was better than lying or not speaking at all. And he had showed proper respect even if it wasn't crouching down with his tail tucked between his legs. Ah well, romans had their pride and dignity that they needed to protect.

Quid mihi et tibi sumito familia tua protegat illos, et vitam packmates necessitate. An benevolentia prosequatur facietis eis genus, iurant tu?"

If it was a yes and the wolf pledged loyalty to himself, then the sterling outrider had gotten himself a new member, a roman too, he wondered which god was his patron. After all he was pretty sure most romans had their favourite gods even if he didn't.

“Quid mihi et tibi sumito familia tua protegat illos, et vitam packmates necessitate. An benevolentia prosequatur facietis eis genus, iurant tu?" The agouti male nodded, Etiam vitae meorum testor:" After all, Romans took vows sworn on their lives seriously and if he vow was not upheld, then the person that did not fulfil the conditions of his vow would msot likely be killed. That was the brutal ways of the romans.

He raised his mint-green gaze to look at the sky for a brief moment before saying, Ego Tiberius" he added a moment later feeling the need to state his own name.
<style type="text/css"> r1 {color:#5e6d7c; font-size: 10px;} .r1box {background-color: #ccffffff; width: 500px; margin: auto; background-image: url('http://i.imgur.com/y77SqPt.jpg'); background-repeat: no-repeat; outline: 10px solid #477583;} .r1text {margin: auto; width: 370px; color:#2e5c8a; text-indent: 15px; font-family: rokkit; line-height: 15px; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify; padding-left: 15px; padding-right: 15px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-top: 525px; margin-bottom: 30px;}</style>

The silver wanderer nodded, a faint smile gracing his lips as he spoke, this time in english. "Welcome home, Tiberius. You may speak Latin with me however with your other packmates, please speak English as they do not understand our language. My name is Shadow and my pack will soon be established on these lands. I think you know the meaning of the name Noctisardor, I have named this land and my pack Noctisardor Bypass." he said with a tilt of his head and moved forward to brush his shoulder against Tiberius's one, making sure the other roman now smelled of the Bypass.

"You wanna explore on your own or do you want me to take you on a tour around the territory?" he asked, he was actually exhausted and was in no mood to take the fellow roman on a tour but he didn't want to seem selfish and irresponsible to Tiberius, secretly he was hoping that the agouti roman would choose to explore himself.

He nodded, understanding that most wolves here spoke English, the common tongue in these lands and only a few of those spoke other languages. Not just latin of course, a variety of other cultures, traditions, languages etc. He sent a silent prayer of thanks to his patron god for leading him here to Shadow who apparently was the Praetor of his soon to be pack. And meeting another fellow roman was a relief too, it was great that he wasn't going to be isolated because of his culture and he didn't have to pretend that he wasn't religious.

When Shadow asked him whether or not he wanted a tour, the agouti roman lifted his head up, mint-green gaze bright and shook his head. He knew that Alpha was probably tired and besides he liked to explore by himself. "I'll explore by myself," he spoke, dipping his head as he did so, not knowing how Shadow would react by how he refused his offer.
<style type="text/css"> r1 {color:#5e6d7c; font-size: 10px;} .r1box {background-color: #ccffffff; width: 500px; margin: auto; background-image: url('http://i.imgur.com/y77SqPt.jpg'); background-repeat: no-repeat; outline: 10px solid #477583;} .r1text {margin: auto; width: 370px; color:#2e5c8a; text-indent: 15px; font-family: rokkit; line-height: 15px; font-size: 12px; text-align: justify; padding-left: 15px; padding-right: 15px; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-top: 525px; margin-bottom: 30px;}</style>

He smiled as Tiberius chose to explore by himself, great, that means he could get some sleep before morning came. Rising onto his paws, he gave the agouti roman a friendly nudge on the shoulder before walking off to the Bypass, looking forward to getting some sleep, apparently it had been a good idea to walk off alone in he middle of the night because he gained a new member for the pack. A roman too, the gods had given him nice things but he knew that they were probably going to take something from him soon. They never only gave.

Yawning slightly, he made his way over to his current sleeping spot, wanting to curl up beside Paar and sleep away his responsibilities. The more members he recruited, the more responsibility he had and it wasn't like he was irresponsible, quite the opposite actually, but that didn't mean it was enjoyable. That didn't mean he liked it.
