She watched her footprints appear behind her, fascinated. She recalled the dry earth at the foot of Lamenai and how the hollowed trees made the dens she played in as a pup. She'd heard the yips of pups from Yuèlóng, but was yet to greet any.
As she gazed out to the ocean, she sang:
"Clear as any conscience lies,
The rivet of the Crocodile flies,
Bats adorn the bark of trees
Iguana's tail between the leaves.
But soon sun sets and all comes alive
John crows and jaguars at Lamenai"
