Again the matriarch found herself tracking the large herd that seemed to sequester itself within her packlands. She did not mind it; it meant more game for her and her family, family she expected to grow come Spring. At least this year there did not seem to be any number of prey lacking, nor did the earth shake unbidden. Both of her litters had faced some sort of strange occurence in their lifetime to understand nature was unpredictable at best, ruthless at worst. Peace, now, though; calm and quiet before the heavy snows she could smell coming. 

Quietly Hydra trekked; her footsteps were muted by the snow from the week prior that had hardened and did not give beneath her weight, gingerly distributed with each stride. An ear flicked as the woman thought she heard a sound belonging to something in her own category, and she was given brief pause as she stilled to heed her surroundings, offering an affable, quiet whuff to any who lingered near to join her.
