@Taikon is gone, and Zephyr is baffled. He hasn't heard a word from him or @Takiyok about a departure — and the latter is still here with her niece, so he assumes Taikon will be coming back. Irritated by the thought of being left out of whatever arrangements they've made, he seeks the pale warrior who remains, intent on questioning her.

She spent most of her time patrolling. At night, she kept her niece company and provided her comfort, but Taktuq kept to herself mostly during the day, and Taki needed other things to distract her from her worries over Taikon's trip.

She moved slowly and with purpose, stopping every so often to inspect something. The presence of another pulled her from her work, though, and she slowed to a stop. She turned and saw Zephyr approaching. Taki dipped her head in greeting as he moved closer. Zephyr, she added. Then she was silent, waiting for him to return the greeting if he wished.
