the harlot pulled herself from the waters once more.
their treacherous depths had dragged her down; it was by the watchful eye of the loa that she had been able to reemerge. "ou pa yon sirèn," the obsidian coughed weakly to herself in a scold.
she had gone blind beneath the water —
and overwhelmed, erzulie had begun to gasp, and her knowledge of currents burst under the weight of her panic.
shaking, she spat out the last of the seawater and began to shakily groom the ocean from her pelt, blinking rapidly as her eyesight was restored from the same. 
and shocked, she went to seek polar @Aningan, searching for @Solaire and @Arcelia as well — some sense of mortality rapidly ripening at the back of her skull. to see their faces would be an assurance.
Ever lurking, chatting away with the uppik and enjoying the wintry season. The search for Aningan would be a short one, as he maneuvered the land with ease but no aim. But suddenly there came a purpose to his steps as he spied Erzulie ahead, an eagerness to greet her—an eagerness that turned to worry when he was near enough to spy her expression, her shock filling him with concern.

“Are you alright...?” he questioned when near enough to not have to shout, noting then the dampness of her coat. “What happened?” Trying ever so hard in recent months to steer his mind from the negatives, he hoped she’d simply taken a brief dip in low tides.

aningan. he arrived with a wondering look, his expression filled with concern. erzulie, panting, made as if to press her shoulder against the great roundness of his polar frame. "i only be a little old for deep swimmin' is all."
how she wanted to make her voice lighter for his sake; it shook and there remained the rasp of seawater at its back. "how have you been, aningan?" erzulie asked, hoping that the father of her second brood would not ask after her state again.
