the mid-morning still holds the chill same as the day before, but without the constant hammering of the salty seabrine chilled from the cold ocean as kharybdis ventures further inland, leaving the shore at his back ( for now ), the chill is more tolerable. even more so in the forest that lines the rocky hill that houses gyrfalcons that screech at each other and at him when they spot him below their circling.

he eyes the stoat he's been trailing for the past couple of minutes, seemingly unaware that it was being stalked by not only predators of the sky but of the land, as well. he risks a glimpse at the sky where a ivory feathered gyrfalcon circles like a vulture waiting for it's meal to die. though kharybdis hopes for his own sake it is he that keeps the falcon at bay from going in for the kill.

seizing the opportunity that is given to him, he lunges at the stoat, trapping it beneath his paws and making quick work of it's death; clamping it tightly betwixt his jaws as he searches for a secluded spot to eat it without having the beady eyes of the disappointed bird(s) upon him.
Elixir was on a high from being allowed to stay in her new home. She had wanted to thank her new found family with some flowers or something to show her gratitude toward them. Her long tail swayed as she walked past the sea lion shores where Huā had recruited her. A smile formed on her face as she trotted proudly.

As she came upon the Gryfalcon area she watched another just up ahead. The ebony woman’s tail dropped as she cautiously waited. The wolf had a stoat in their sight and she was careful not to interrupt. Her floppy ears perked up as they finally took the killer leap. After she was sure they had it dead she approached slowly. “Hello, that was a nice kill!” she exclaimed with a smile. The slender wolfdog stopped a few steps away and cocked her head to the side.

The coloring of this wolf spelt was unlike any other she had seen. Many colors painted this mans pelt like a Picasso piece. It was an immaculate sight for her bloodened eyes.
still in the search of finding a secluded place to eat his meal, the voice as it calls out to him startles him. he peers 'round left and then right before his gaze settles upon the shadow pelaged woman with eyes that looked like they were close to his own color, that spoke the compliment. he peers around for any signs of the gyrfalcon that had been also eyeing his prize before tentatively setting it down on his paws.

he is hungry and does not particularly want to share it nor give it away in any sort of capacity but conditioning means that if he must at least offer it. she is superior to him and it is only right. you want? he asks in his caveman, blunt way of his, wishing desperately he could speak draconian and that these wolves would understand him.

nevertheless, he nudges the stoat towards her a bit, emphasizing his meaning. she could have it, if she wanted.
The peculiar colored man was watching the sky before he settled the kill before him. Elixir cocked her head to the side and then looked up as well. The sky looked angry, like there was a storm of sorts brewing. The clouds hid the sun from warming their pelts. The chill of the sea carried by a rush of the wind cut like a knife through her fur. A small shiver was trickling down her spine. Gyrfalcons kept their Beaty eyes on them.

How chivalrous the man was as he offered her his freshly plucked kill. The wolfdog had thought with her stomach just for a moment and sniffed at his paws.   “No sir, I’m not hungry.” she told him sitting back on her hind end. The mans voice was gruff and his sentence was short and offered no emotion. It was hard for her to read him, which made her nerves uneasy. ” I’m Elixir, and you?” her paws shifted as she asked.
kharybdis resists the urge to move back as she draws nearer to sniff the stoat and then his paws. the only thing that keeps him from skirting back like a skittish kitten is the fact that she is a woman and his upbringing told him that it would be rude. though he let out a loud scoff as she called him "sir"; definitely a title far too formal for him and not one that a woman should ever utter towards him. no. no sir. he tells her, more firmly than he meant, giving his head a shake, as if doing so would aid him in pretending that she hadn't uttered it to him.

kharybdis. he gives him name simply when she asks for it; finding her expectation of information to be comforting in the aftermath of how utterly thrown off ( and possibly insulted ) he'd been when she'd called him 'sir' ( as to which he is still reeling from ).
The man seemed to be disappointed when the word Sir came about in the conversation. No. No sir she repeated in her head. Elixir shook her head in agreement. The man spoke his name. Kharybdis. The name fit him and the way he looked. Kharybdis peaked Elixirs interest at this point. The ears of the dark woman perked up.

“You are quite interesting.” she thought aloud to him. “I just joined a pack not too far from here, do you have a home or a family? The winter is harsh around here.. if you don’t have someone .” her voice became soft as she rose to her feet again.
interesting, she calls him. for a moment, kharybdis struggles with whether to take it as a compliment or not. what was interesting to her was normal among the males — born into or otherwise — of titan spires. the fact that males behaved else wise was appalling to kharybdis but he knew well first hand that the spires was a …rarity. he’d personally usurped the olding man of the bay lerna claims as her own now.

yes. kharybdis replies to her questions of home and family; both of which were very far away. it does not occur to him that she means something more local. the fact that she might’ve been trying to recruit him goes over his head until she clarifies a bit. may be — he drawls, hesitant to commit to anything.

he doesn’t want to end up in a situation where he unsuspectingly followed the lead of another male; maybe in these lands it was entirely unavoidable but …still. he wished to make an informed decision all the same. what pack like? he asks, hoping that his broken, caveman blunt way of speaking is clear enough.
Elixir watched him for a moment as the silence fell between them. She was unsure of why he had less words than in a normal conversation. The shadow moved her paws to shuffle her weight. She had not been in yuelong too long so the thought of bringing someone back was interesting, she wasn’t sure how Huā would react to it.

At last he spoke and elixirs ears perked up to listen. So he did have a family, or maybe he was unsure of what she had meant. The man said maybe and her face was inquisitive. “ it is ran by Huā, our main leader and then Aiolos is kind of her second in command. They are both very sweet.” elixir thought of the easiest words she could find to describe the place. “ it’s among the seas. Very homey. she smiled as she was content with the way she was able to get out the words.
