Jasper had been accepted in the pack. He had still marveled at the beautiful territory, that almost seemed familiar to him. Mostly through the stories his dad had told him about some wetlands he called Broken Antler Fen. When talking with Wraen, he had come to learn that these lands had a different name. Still, even if it was a different wetlands than from the story Jasper liked that he could also experience this type of land himself. He had gotten a tour from Wraen, and was now out to meet new members.

Wraen had told him to speak with @Eljay since he was a medic like his parents were. Jasper still hadn't decided what he liked to do most, or if he wanted to be a healer. It was an admirable job, for certain. He was just not sure if he was graceful and thoughtful enough to be a healer. Jasper also was curious about the other wolves that lead this pack (@Ibis @Teya @Maia), eager to make a friendly impression on them as well. So the male just went to explore and see if he would run into someone, anyone really. He would love to learn more of the wolves he lived with.
He was still very much enjoying the slower pace of life these days. But Tambourine knew he was letting the days get away from him a little bit. He really itched to find @Wraen and spend more time with her. He wondered if it was the increasingly lovely spring weather that made him want to seek her, a thought which made him chuckle under his breath.

When he went looking for the Raven, he came across an unfamiliar younger male. Tambourine's tail twitched side to side as he approached with a warm grin. "Hey there!" he greeted. "I don't think we've met. I'm Tambourine, though you can call me Tam."
Jasper looked up when someone approached him. He was quick to face the other, his tail moving over his hocks as well. His pale eyes took in the male, he seemed older than him. Jasper respectfully lowered his head, after all, he was the one that recently joined. "Hi Tam," he greeted kindly. He stepped closer and took in his scent, just to get used to it and that he could identify it later.

"I'm Jasper," he hummed in return. "It is correct we haven't met. I was recently accepted my Wraen," he explained. "Have you been at this pack for a long time?,' he asked curiously. Perhaps if he had, then the male could tell him more about it these lands.
He introduced himself as Jasper. His palette reminded Tambourine of a few other members, though before he could ask if he was related to anyone else here, he declared he'd only been recently accepted. Tambourine's lips formed a little moue of surprise, though only for an instant. His grin soon returned, his tail beating the air.

"Nope, I'm pretty new myself," he replied. "Welcome! I could take you for a walkabout if you like?"
Jasper was surprised at that, he just assumed this male had been here longer. However, he seemed to be mistaken. No matter. "Well good, then I am not the only new one," Jasper grinned and wagged his tail. "I'd like that. Maybe your favorite place so far?," he asked. Maybe the male had already found a good spot, and he loved to get to know his other wolves better. A favorite spot would be a good start.

"Why did you decide to join Brecheliant?," he asked curiously. He had really stumbled upon the borders really, not really out to find a pack. It was a nice development though. He was really more of a pack wolf than a loner.
Jasper suggested they visit his favorite spot. Tambourine wasn't entirely sure he had one, though he nodded and motioned for his younger cohort to come along as he began to walk. He set a steady, casual pace.

"I've been a traveler most of my life," he replied, "and I finally decided I wanted to settle down. Slow down. I grew up near here, so I decided to come back and scope the scene. I knew Wraen years ago, so who was I to deny fate when I bumped into her here while shopping around?"

He went no more than half a dozen steps before bouncing the question back to Jasper. "How about you? What made you decide to join Break...fastclub?" He chortled at his own joke, always delighting in deliberately butchering the pack's name.
Jasper looked up with surprise on his face. "Really! Same for me!," he offered. "My parents lived as nomads, traveling from pack to pack often exchanging medical knowledge in return for food and a safe spot to sleep," he explained. "Ah yes, that sounds like the way to go."

Jasper had much the same really. "Wraen found me lurking on the borders. This territory looks so much like how my dad described his pack Broken Antler Fen. I am pretty sure there are a lot of other wetlands in the area, but I thought it was nice to appreciate it," he grinned.

Jasper let out a chuckle at the joke. It was a polite chuckle as he didn't get the reference. But he was pretty sure it was a twist on the name of the pack. "Other than that, just finding my way in the world. I was done with traveling and trying to give all the knowledge and believes I've been taught when young a place. Settle down."
Their backgrounds were really very similar, up to and including Wraen recently discovering them lurking at her borders. Speaking of which, Tambourine cocked his head and replied, "But isn't that what this place is called? I swear I've heard someone refer it to it by that name..." He couldn't recall specifics though. "So this may be where your pops lived at some point?" he added, thinking aloud.

As they talked, he kept up his leisurely gait, which led them toward the southern corner of the territory. There was a brief stretch of dry land between the territory's main waterways behind them and a more isolated pond up ahead. He led Jasper toward it, his floppier ear twitching when an early fly buzzed near it.

"I like it here because it tends to be a little quieter and more secluded. I'm a people person but it's nice to have a quiet spot to think, you know?" Tambourine said, pale eyes drifting to Jasper's face.
Jasper stopped walking for a brief moment when the other male thought it was called that before. He then quickly trotted up to him. "That could be. I already found so many things that could be what he talked about," he admitted. "That would be surreal, if this was truly the place where his pack was," he let out as he looked around. "I will ask the other members if they might know, just to confirm." But that would be seriously cool.

Jasper followed him, walking next to him. It was still a surprise that this could be the same territory. "You can always find a crowd," he responded. "My parents used to say that," he chuckled then. "But I guess they were, right." It was easy to find a pack, joining was another step but a crowd could always be found.
Jasper's mentions of his family and their history made Tambourine briefly wonder about his own, though not long enough to really delve into any specifics. Instead, he kept his focus on his new companion's legacy, taking a seat beside the still waters and motioning for Jasper to do the same.

"So did your dad lived here—well, possibly here—before your parents became nomads?" Tambourine wondered, lazily stretching out a paw to dip in the water, stirring it idly with a toe even as his eyes found Jasper's face once more.
Jasper nodded when he looked around. "If it is the same name it must be. It was close to the Caldera he said. Now I think I saw a glimpse of it in the distance," he spoke thoughtfully. Jasper nodded again when the male asked about his parents being nomads. "My parents had been friends for a long time. My dad came here and joined the Redhawk Caldera, I believe he already met my mother then. Eventually he decided to start his own pack named Broken Antler Fen, but after a while it disbanded and he moved back to the Caldera, I believe. He also spoke of Moonspear and BlackFeather Woods," he started.

"My mom and dad only got together at Moonspear. It was all very dramatic, my father thought my mother had died, but then she wasn't and they realized they loved each other," he shook his head. "Anyhow, they went off on their own, both medics, and wanting to see more of the world. Mom thought she was unable to have pups but low and behold then my sister and me were born," he chuckled. "So they joined a pack briefly and decided they liked to spread knowledge of healing. So from a few months old I've been in a lot of packs. They traded their knowledge for food and a place to stay."

"Now I think about it, it has to be this place. The Caldera so close by. I want to visit them one day, the Caldera folk. I couldn't find them last time, but Wraen said they were back. Maybe some wolves of my parents' stories are still alive!"
Jasper seized the invitation to elaborate and Tambourine tilted his head, listening raptly to every word. He only recognized Moonspear's name, though the mentions of the caldera were familiar in a very vague way. Perhaps he'd overheard someone talking about their neighbors to the north. He remembered smelling them on his way here, fully intending to stop there first only to wind up staying with Wraen.

Naturally, the mention of a couple's drama made him think briefly of Larkspur, though the intrusive thought faded into the back of his mind as he focused on Jasper's voice. Tambourine wondered what had made his mother think she couldn't bear young. That was one instance where he imagined she must've been so happy to be proven wrong.

The recollections were all spoken in such a fond voice, it made Tambourine hopeful that Lele and Harps felt this way about their nomadic upbringing. Despite her many vices, Spur had helped a handful of people on their travels too. Tambourine had pitched in when he could. He mused about these parallels, though only for a moment.

"We should go and find out," came his reply to Jasper's speculation. "I'd be happy to go with you, if you wouldn't mind the company."
Jasper was surprised that the male had been interested in joining him. Jasper's tail started to wag, since he liked that the male offered. "Not at all. Thanks for offering," he smiled. He would love to go and meet the Caldera now, but he also had recently arrived.

'How about you and your family?," he asked curiously. Maybe the male also had some stories worth finding out or exploring. "Or a place you would like to visit with company. We could combine it if you like," he offered.
Not only did Jasper accept his offer, he kindly returned it. Tambourine pondered the idea of searching for the remnants of Marauder's Keep. But he truly couldn't remember the location, nor anything about the territory aside from The Crook. It would be neat to revisit the cave someday, though he didn't feel particularly attached to the idea. And there was nowhere else he'd gone that merited a nostalgic visit.

No, his clearest memories had to do with other wolves, not the places they'd spent time together. And as far as he knew, they were long gone, never to be seen or heard from again. He would always recall them fondly, though their features dimmed over time to the point where he could barely even remember the color of Stark's eyes, the sound of Banner's voice or what Silas smelled like. He couldn't remember his own mother at all and though he knew Reek had sired him, he'd really only known the man briefly.

Tambourine shook his head. "Nah, my family's right here," he said with a little smile. "When were you thinking of going?"
memoriesss <3

Jasper thought about the question for a moment. He had only arrived her shortly and didn't want to vanish within the first few days of him joining. "Maybe in a week or later. I wouldn't want to leave here so soon after joining. I can wait. Plus I have a lot of people to meet in the pack yet," he admitted. But the scents alone he had to get used to and which belonged to which wolf.

"Anything you can tell me about some of the pack mates?," he asked curiously. "Maybe something about the leaders and how they rule?" He was curious to meet them. Of course he had met Wraen but that was it, none of the leadership he had met so far.
I'm in if/whenever you wanna post a thread at RHC; just tag me! :)

Jasper reasoned out a timeline and Tambourine merely nodded in acknowledgement. "Sounds like a plan, man," he said. "Whenever you're ready, you know where to find me. Right... here." He laughed as he struck a pose in a beam of sunlight filtering down through the blossoming treetops in a particularly treed area of the fen. "And if I'm not here, you can always shout," he added with a wink as he continued moving.

As for Jasper's latest question, Tambourine replied, "Wraen and Maia strike me as being pretty similar. They're both really rad ladies. So's Teya. She's a lot younger." She was right around Harps's age, he was pretty sure. There was a fondness he couldn't help for that reason, even though she was his superior in a few ways. "I haven't met the fourth yet. Maybe we could seek her out now? I believe her name's Ibis."
Yes! I will! :D

Jasper was glad his plan was approved. He liked this idea. Perfect. "I will. I'm excited to see them," Jasper admitted. The male wondered if they would be familiar with his parents. The other then continued about the leadership of the pack. He was glad to hear that. He had joined a pack he knew little about, so it was always a bit of a guess if it was a match. He felt one would only find out by joining.

"They all sound really friendly." Jasper thought about it for a moment and then decided yes. Because he had nothing to do really. "I like that! Then we can both introduce ourselves," he offered, tail wagging.
I figured we could fade here? :)

"Right on," Tambourine replied when Jasper seemed ready to go along with his plan. He wasn't sure if they'd actually find her, considering the territory was expansive and she was a leader with likely a lot of things on her plate. But the journey was just as important as the destination; it would give him more time to get to know his young comrade.
will wrap it up here!

Jasper hoped he would find some information but if he didn't then perhaps that was okay as well. No siblings stayed together forever. Plus it was nice to get to know himself, and that others would just know him instead of his sister. Though at certain times he missed her. Just the ease of having someone close. One he knew his whole life. Luckily he had made a new friend here so that was good.
