erz is coming to visit zephyr and babs! @Hermes @Dionysus

the harlot was no midwife, but she was the resident healer upon the packland. and so she bundled together herbs and a bit of seal-meat into one of haunt's otter-skins.
"@Zephyr," erzulie chuffed at the doorway, having searched long for the new parent. "i be comin' to check on you."
Sobo is totally skippable, this is just an awesome opportunity to get some caregiver experience for him!

In Erzulie's wake trailed Sobo. Surely manman knew he was there behind her, following on legs quickly growing long and lean. He didn't make any real effort to hide himself. Erzulie was simply set on her task and her young son followed diligently behind, carrying a large maple leaf — nonmedicinal and utterly useless — he had picked up somewhere in a weak imitation of his dam.

They went to a place unrecognized, Erzulie with the brisk stride of an engaged physician, Sobo with a clumsier one that failed to convey much dignity. When they reached the mouth of a den, however, some instinct told Sobo to stay back. The smell of milk was rich and sweet. He found saliva pooling around the leaf in his mouth. Manman chased them away from the teat these days, but Sobo found weaning rather difficult. He missed the taste and had to swallow thickly against the smell.

Sobo whined softly, proffering his leaf for his mother to take with her bundle, if she wished. A gift from him to the den's inhabitants, paltry and pointless though it may be. It distracted him from thinking about how nice the milk must taste.
After the life altering event that was birth, things did —surprisingly— return to normalcy. A new normal, but one he couldn’t complain about. Eating and sleeping all against two warm bodies all day wasn’t that bad. He could get used to this simple way of life.

But life wasn’t done with its surprises yet. Hermes felt a subtle vibration, but it did not come from dad nor his brother. The whelp dragged himself in a circle towards the source and proceeded to grunt and cry.
so sorry i had missed this!

as an ex-embryo, the cerluean could faithfully agree with hermes. besides the fact they were not house-trained , they were also the perfect children: waking up to cry ahead of the morning rush, crying when the day got too relaxing, crying just after being soothed from crying, and rotating between the darndest positions to sleep in and operate ( with what little options they had anyway ). soon life would turn out to be some nonsense portmanteau word, responsibility & work.

the world for now was zephyr & hermes and food and the rest is gimcrackery!

kvelled with his work, dionysus was clocked-out before his brother cried like the boy who cried wolf. and if hermes cries, dionysus cries, out of logic of course.

wowww i really dropped the ball on thissss i want to make it up w an updated thread for puppies! we can continue this ofc but i am good to archive since its a month old <3

erzulie heard them stirring within, but without a word from zephyr, she was loathe to enter. instead she only crooned to the inhabitants, and turned to nudge sobo.
"vini. nou pral vizite ankò."
she turned away, unwilling to reside where she had not been asked.
Nothing much happened. Sobo turned his face curiously up to Erzulie's even before manman spoke, but when she did, all his curiosity about the den filtered away. The inhabitants did not wish to be disturbed, and he was eager to show how well-behaved and courteous he was, so Sobo followed his mother away without so much as a second glance back, despite the buzzing intensity of wanting to know what was happening in there.
