Lorelai will post after you! <3 Noir also has permission for minor pp of Lorelai.
Noir had been tasked with escorting Lorelai to the seaside cliffs, where the troubled woman would be meeting her potential mentor. As instructed, the ebon girl stopped at the borders, then let loose a high-pitched howl for
@Erzulie. Lorelai moved closer to Noir, and the girl braced, so as to let the older female lean on her.
"Violante trusts her, little dove," An affectionate nickname was given by the girl, which caused Lorelai to wag her tail gently, relaxing somewhat. Then, she added,
"And Mistress has never been wrong before. The seawoman will take care of you."
Noir can be skipped for now! <3
Lorelai took a deep breath as a sandy wolf approached - she recognized her as Erzulie, from Violante's description of the seawoman. She dipped her head in respect, then said rather breathily, "I'm Lorelai. Violante said I was going to be taught how to heal and care for pups?" She was nervous, and excited, to learn both, but also fearful of being somewhere new.
When given the gesture to sit, Lorelai sat, watching Erzulie with large eyes. When asked about the whelps she carried, she wasn't quite sure what to say. "Well... they weren't planned... but I want to keep then, if that's what you're asking." She wasn't ready for pups yet, but she wouldn't be able to live with herself if she didn't see this through. Then, she asked, "How many babies have you had?" She was hoping her own would be small.
Noir had been silent until now, but when questioned, she answered, "Not by blood. But we are kin, of a sort... I served her in the past, and now I serve her again." She could see why - they were both black wolves, but in the case of her mistress, her beauty was a true gift; Noir's only gift was two black-furred parents.
Fourteen babies... that seemed like... well, a lot. Lorelai gazed at Erzulie with a new sort of respect. She personally couldn't imagine having that many kids. "You must be a great mother, then..." Lorelai said softly, smiling shyly. Then, Erzulie questioned Noir, and the soon-to-be young mother fell quiet again, thinking.
The young wolf racked her brains for questions. It seemed that she had both many, and none, all at the same time, or perhaps her frazzled mind couldn't pick one. Finally, she asked, "Will it hurt? Having my babies?" She assumed that there were herbs that could help. Mainly, she worried about hurting them - be it accidentally or while under the influence of her nightmares. Then, she said, "I'm worried about my nightmares... what if they have them? What if I can't take care of them?" She gave a soft whine, looking to Erzulie. "Is there an herb that can help those?"
The girl smiled graciously to Erzulie, telling her, "The only question I have, madam, is the price of this mentorship. My mistress was also hoping for an alliance - clearly you are a kind and gracious woman. We are in your debt." None of them had knowledge on raising young, or tending to wounds - that had not been the Cruor's forte.
Lorelai whined softly - she didn't want it to hurt. She knew she couldn't back out now, nd she supposed, for her children, she could handle the pain. She'd handled worse throughout her life so far. Nervously, she asked, "What do I do after they're born? I... I know they'll want to nurse, but..." Lorelai trailed off, another whine loosing itself. She wasn't even sure which questions to ask - she supposed she would ask them when the time came. Then, another question, "Will I be home in time to have my babies?" She couldn't imagine having them anywhere but the forest.
The ebon girl smiled toothily, then gave Erzulie a short bow. "I can gather information, not to worry. How... in depth shall I go, madam?" She had done much before under Vex's rule, but she knew things would be different here. Still, she had skills to use - why not use them?
The seawoman's paw atop her own gave Lorelai much comfort - she inhaled deeply, exhaling slowly. "Thank you, Erzulie," she murmured, smiling tentatively. The conversation shifted towards strange wolves on the coast, and Lorelai settled herself down; she had no more questions or concerns, for now.
Noir bowed to the seawoman. "Never fear, madam. I will get your information. It should be said, we had a strange male come to our borders, testing them. My mistress believes he had impure intentions." Another bow, to her, then Lorelai. "I will return with news. Sacrarium thanks you, Erzulie." If nothing else was needed, she would take her leave.
