At Alys' urging, Kailoh was immediately on his feet, surveying their surroundings. He automatically turned his nose towards the sky, searching for any dangers. It was then that a new scent hit him, one foreign, but somehow familiar. Kailoh had never had the opportunity to be among a female in heat. A flame lit inside of him then, burning him from the inside out. He knew one thing and one thing only, he needed her in a way he had never needed anyone before. He turned to Alys, beckoning her closer to him.
Despite her thick winter coat, she was shivering, although it was not necessarily because of the cold. No, she was feeling anxious, and her body screamed for one thing - him. Alys whimpered softly, nuzzling his neck, nipping gently at his throat. "I... I'm nervous," she admitted. She'd never done this before. Her bright sunny eyes met his amber ones. "But... I think I love you," she added, breaking her own tension with a soft laugh and a silly grin.
Kailoh never felt such a strong pull to anyone before, wolf or otherwise. He had no doubt in his mind that he loved her too. He nibbled her ear before whispering, "You have my heart, should I wander, it will always find it's way home to you." He was prepared to let his body lead from there, should she allow him.

Alys smirked softly at his words, and she nudged him hard with her shoulder in play. "You'd better not wander," she warned him softly. He moved closer to her, and she lowered her gaze, feeling herself flush. She knew she was getting stuck in her own head, letting her anxiety overtake her. She took a long, deep breath, then gazed out through the forest. "Wait," she told him, grinning apologetically. "It... it has to be the right place." And she knew just where she wanted to go. She took them south, towards the falls and the spring. It remained mercifully unfrozen thanks to the falls above them. Finally, she stopped. "Here. Isn't it the perfect spot?" Alys moved closer to her mate, pressing her body against his. She looked up at him, then murmured, "Take me, Kailoh."

Rolling over lazily, Kailoh gazed wonderingly at Alys. His eyes couldn't help but linger on her abdomen and the life that may be forming there. Before he drifted off to sleep he was able to mutter to his mate, "
I love you, Alys."
