@Malila -- if anyone else from Mereo would like to pop in to check on her or talk they're welcome to but Aquene is going to walk Malila through treating her ^^
Getting her back to the tablinum was a process given her location on the border, but it was done. Leaning weight and very careful stepping. The bleeding had slowed, the wound from the top being a mess of matted fur that had managed to start to clot. Where his bottom teeth had made impact was still bleeding, gravity doing her no favors. Malila was with her, and she did not hesitate to start to walk her through. She did not want to settle on a pelt until after the bleeding was under control. It would just make cleanup harder and Malila would need access to that part of the wound.

“There are cobwebs in the corner, grab a mat of them to press against the underside of my shoulder.” She instructed, being very careful to keep her tone level despite the obvious pain because there was no need for panic. It hurt like a bitch but she was not dying… just, her shoulder was torn to hell. “It will naturally stick and help stop the bleeding. There is a dried grain on the right side of the tablinum near the entrance wrapped in a hide, bring is here. It’s the only grain we currently have stocked. It will help control the bleeding once I take it.” It would cause a burning sensation as blood circulation was restricted, but it would very much do the job it needed to do. They wouldn't be able to treat preventatively for infection or the likes until after they got the mess cleaned up.
i would like tamar to be here! she will defer to malila since the extent of her training is just cleaning wounds <3

the girl was on edge. she ran to inform @Ruenna of what had happened, though she was aware the imperator would inform everyone soon.

aquene, attacked at the borders! she saw malila join the medic at her den. the scent of blood was too heavy. she fluttered to and fro in the clearing before she dashed to find leaves with which to carry water into the tablinum.

she entered to hear her friend's voice tight with pain. she nodded at the younger girl and moved closer, beginning to sponge blood off the worst of the wounds. the herbs she would not touch. she would not take the risk of making a mistake.
Malila was largely silent on their way back to the tablinum, echoing the seriousness of the situation. It reflected her mood perfectly. She was young. She had no actual medical training. And now that she was facing her first real life test, she proved she had the right instincts. No nonsense. No dawdling. Just swift, decisive action.

With stiffly pricked ears, Malila zeroed in on Aquene's every word with startling intensity. She was instant in following directions, sweeping to the said corner and grabbing a lump of cobwebs in her jaws. She set it down, not applying it since she had not been instructed to do so yet. Just as quickly, she fetched the grain wrapped in the hide Aquene described. It was then she noticed Tamar, the woman she had seen at the meeting a while ago. She would have greeted the woman with a gentle nudge, but was in too serious a mood to do so. But she did give her a quick glance, eyes softening briefly.
Not long after they arrived, another presence entered the den. At first on edge, the healer relaxed when she spotted the familiar features of Tamar. The jumpiness accompanied the light shake in her muscles as the adrenaline started to wear off and everything started to sink in. She began to clean off the wound and Aquene winced lightly solely from the pressure but did not complain. Sometimes, it had to feel worse in order to get better, and she did not want to give herself anything for the pain. The only thing that would do her good at this moment was poppy seeds, and while also saving them for a rainy day, she did not want her mind altered or suspended.

Malila brought the grain over, and Aquene nodded to confirm that it was what she had asked for. “It’s Ergot. It will help control the bleeding.” She explained simply, grabbing her own dose before continuing. “Once Tamar finishes cleaning it, press the cobwebs to the wound. It’ll help stop the bleeding and we can apply an anti-infection poultice overtop of them.” They could worry about the top wound in a bit. Either way, Aquene was going to have to hole herself up in the den for a few days at the very least, and favoring the leg for some time was likely in her future as well.
tamar's ears took in the instructions.

each bit of information gathered was one she set aside to ponder later. she focused on gently washing the edges of each laceration, making sure that blood which had dried was also cleansed.

when malila stepped forward tamar would take away the leaves, pressing them to another cut. she would continue this, a lift and a touch, each time that the girl moved from one tearing to another.

quietly she tried to radiate a gentle air for both of them.
She immediately turned back to Aquene, to focus on the task at hand. She hardly seemed to mind the proximity of Tamar, who was busy cleaning up and around the edges of the wounds. She nodded, humming in soft confirmation that the instructions were understood. When Tamar pulled away, Malila stepped in, sweeping up a clump of the cobwebs. She applied gentle but firm pressure to the wound. Shifting her paw in place of her muzzle, she peered towards the experienced healer. "The poultice. What do we need?" She asked, assuming it wasn't already pre-made.
The question came and her brain jumped for a moment before she responded. “Yarrow for infection prevention, lavender to help ease the tension and keep it clean. Try adding some water into the mix so when you grind it against the poultice base of either moss or willowbark that it becomes more paste-like and is easier to keep on the wound. If you use willowbark you might have to use the pads of your paw to place the paste, but with moss you can lay it over the wound and it will soak in.” She instructed again, wincing as she managed to at least take a seat, feeling some of the weight lift off of her shoulder with a soft sigh of relief.

“Scrub pine as well, the needles are tucked near the center, the only fir I have at the moment, wrapped in hide.” She scolded herself for not starting with that with how much weight she’d been putting on the injury just to get back here to the tablinum. She cursed Dimitri silently in her own mind, thankfully more angry than anything with his appearance, though certainly the other emotions would come later.
OOC: Permission to skip Tamar given by Ebony. <3

Malila nodded and turned to collect the herbs Aquene listed. In her chest, her heart thudded rapidly. Adrenaline still pumped through her body from the earlier course of rattling events. But at least her friend was not mortally injured. The Imperator had been there for the attack, and soon, all of Mereo would be on extra high alert.

Diligently, she scooped up the lavender and yarrow. As instructed, she added a small amount of water to the mixture. She chose a clump of moss over willowbark, gently swirling and pressing with her muzzle until the combination of herbs melted into a pasty consistency. Every now and then, she flashed an eye up to her mentor or @Tamar, to ensure she was doing everything correctly. Once the paste had clung nicely to the moss, she brought it over. She was not done, yet. Nosing open the hide, she gathered the scrub pine needles, laying them atop the paste, mixing them in carefully. Afterwards, she took the moss to press it to Aquene's wound.
Her apprentice moved quickly and Aquene was thankful for the woman. She was always thankful for the way the woman made her life easier, but in this moment there was something more about it. She wouldn’t be able to treat her own wounds, and she was thankful to have both women helping her. She watched as the woman mixed the paste, grinding it together. She offered encouraging nods whenever her eyes flashed up. She was doing a fine job.

She brought it over and applied them into the poultice. It would act as a natural numbing agent to take the edge off just as it acted for pain as well when chewed… the difference was topical pain relief versus joint and skeletal pain relief. She winced as the moss was pressed to the wound, allowing herself to ease to the ground solely to take weight off of it. “Very good.” She praised, the adrenaline starting to wear out of her body. “Malila, you were involved in the fray too… are you okay?” She found her attention shifting from herself and her injury to any the other woman might possess with concern. She worried for the others too and made a mental note she should check on them later as well. Stopping or slowing down for something like her own wounds was not in her vocabulary because she truly did make the worst patient.
OOC: Last post for me!

After doing as instructed and letting the moss sit over Aquene's wound, Malila watched her to make sure she was holding up alright. The whole time her heart beat in her chest, the sound pulsing in her ears. It was unlike her to be so eerily silent.

Only when Aquene addressed her, did Malila snap out of her daze. Mismatched eyes found their way to the injured medic's face. "Y-yeah, I'm fine." Physically, at least. She was lucky not to have a mark on her. "I guess I got off easy in that he did not lay a tooth on me." And that's all it was. Pure luck. "If you don't need anything else, then I will be in my den. I need to settle my nerves after today." Her voice refused to falter, despite how rattled she truly was. Then, if not stopped, Malila took her leave.
She dressed the wounds and Aquene tried to let the tension fade from her muscles. Trying to relax was going to be the best thing for her lest she want to feel sore in the morning. In moments like this, she wished Kallik were there. She always felt comfort from his presence.

Malila insisted that she was fine and she hummed softly. She could tell the girl seemed shaken solely from the way she zoned out and remained silent. It was so unlike her… she offered a nod and then watched as Malila took her need, Aquene closing her eyes and simply breathing as her heart started to settle in her chest from the fear and adrenaline.
