all welcome, would like to meet some packmates

she liked it here.  early in the mornings, she would rise to mark the borders.  it took her a while longer on this one than she liked.  her bones ached.  the cold had never bothered her so much.

she powered through.  given enough time, she was able to get started, and she found thoughtless bliss in the labor of the task.
Fennec had not quite gotten the hang of the woods yet, but she was learning. She could travel through a bit faster and with more confidence than she'd had a week ago, but it would take another few weeks before she'd gotten a real feel for it.

The borders were maybe her best known place. She crossed them more than Bronco did, but they both had spent a good deal of time marking off their claim.

But today, when she arrived, she caught the fresh scent of someone she hadn't met yet. It was so tempting to jump on her like she was doing something wrong, just to see if she had a sense of humor, but Fennec withheld temptation. No use scaring off recruits before they'd even really found their feet.

Hey! Mind waiting up? Fennec called when she cocked her ear and determined she'd gotten close enough. You're... Ingrid, right? Bronco had met her a while ago, apparently, and she'd decided to rejoin them now. Let's see what you found, she thought, waiting for a response as she took a careful step forward.

it was a good idea that fennec had not decided to jump ingrid, because unlike her player, ingrid had zero sense of humor.  she stopped in her tracks, her torn ear flicking back in acknowledgement before she turned stiffly towards the woman.

she was blind.  ingrid assumed this was bronco's partner.  she took a moment to sniff. i am ingrid.  you are fennec?  the way the question is directed, it sounds almost like a statement.  i am doing patrol.
Oh, she sounded fun. And by that, the exact opposite. Fennec was immediately interested. The one and only, she replied despite the clear non-questioning tone to the words. Sounds like a blast. I've only done that every other moment this week. She gave a smirk, but took a step forward anyway. At least company might make it a little more interesting?

Her question was a question, but she didn't wait for an answer before noting the direction Ingrid was going and setting off so that they would be patrolling together.

So, Ingrid. Do you believe in ghosts? Totally normal introductory questions. Only the most normal for her, as usual.
though ingrid was thrown off by the woman's energy, she approved of fennec's spirit.  she could tell it was strong.  though she barely knew either of them, she felt inclined towards the pair, and thought them to compliment each other greatly.

it is not fun, she agrees. that is why they call this, 'chore'.  though the line was not meant to be funny, it was delivered with such a cadence that it was almost a joke in and of itself.  the tip of her tail offered a slight wag as she followed behind.

ghosts?  feh.  no.  only stories.  she would think on this for long enough one might be led to think that's all she had to say about it, before she followed with, do you?
I like to keep an open mind, she replied with a slight shrug of one shoulder. What's more interesting, anyway? Dying, or getting to come back and haunt someone you don't like? Fennec smirked, then felt her tail brush a tree. Pausing, she stepped towards it and scratched an itch deep in her side. Useful and it put her scent down, two for one.

She didn't pause long, and if Ingrid didn't notice, she'd only be a few paces behind. I've got a few in mind that could use some of that. Her mind turned to Bronco's hunters and the satisfaction she'd feel driving them all to horrible ends. Things like curses had always been a joke before, but now, finally, Fennec knew what hatred tasted like. Plus, a proper witch can never disappear completely.

Some might find the subject of their own death a little morbid, but Fennec didn't seem to notice.
