Ah, a patch of lavender. Don't mind if I do, Tethys pleasurably conversed inwardly, padding towards the aromatic brush. She melded into the stems, languorously stretching onto her back as if she was taking a bath inside the soft stems. With a wiggle, the black female rolled several times, crushing lavender petals and letting their fragrance seep into her hairs. Never mind a wolf's instinct to roll in different scents and carry them back to the pack- Tethys loved the luxury of smelling good.

She had walked for days to reach this place. Leaving Aeginos had been a split decision; her mother said one thing and Tethys' heart said another. Besides, the bitch had caused enough ruckus between several young males, and so her mother wasn't entirely sad to see her depart. And Teekon wasn't totally exotic. There were still plenty of forests to lurk in and water to swim. The raven female had come across the crisp and decisive movement of Whitefish, and the river beckoned her to practice her innate skill of fishing.

Three weeks have already passed. Nishu told himself he might as well forget his mission but that meant he wouldn't be able to return home. Due to the encounters he had before a new life goal has risen for him. Restoring the faith of Knights was now his new mission. Nearly all the wolves he met believed Knights were just a fairy tale, as if they were just a made up story but Nishu knew the real story.

He was letting the river guide him instead of following the wind. He walked steadly along it's edge thinking about what he would find next. He's been traveling without any real rest which caused him to feel a bit of fatique but he can't stop yet. Continuing without progressing on his goal would never allow him to settle. All he wanted to do now was find some new faces and prove them that Knight exist. He would offer his services as a knight and hopely with that he'll be able to rest better later. Progress to his goal would help him sleep more at ease so that was the new objective.

Nishu looked at his reflection on the river. Still good looking as usual, a pelt as the moon was perfect for him. Grey pretty much everywhere it's a true look of a Knight he thought. He has everything he needed to restore the faith in Knights all he really need to do was find new wolves and begin his mission.

A strange scent entered his nose that moment. It was odd, he couldn't really put a name on it but it was nearby. It felt like it was his duty to go check it out and that he did. He expected to find some kind of flower but instead he saw a glimps of a black wolf and instantly got down. It's was still odd, She smelt like flowers more than a wolf, Which led him to believe that this may be an assassin. Who else would cover their scent? He hesitated on approaching, That black wolf could be a dangerous assassin and it would do no good to engage in combat. He accidently steped on a twig as took a step back. He stood completely still, He never done any training for this. What must he do?

The lavender-pampered wolf had approached the banks of Whitefish, her maw parted to take in the breeze rolling off the river surface. There was little sound of activity anywhere else over the lapping of water, and the pines were unusually still in their stoic nature. Tethys couldn't wait to cross the stream and bound up the bank, keeling through the forest in swift pursuit of shadows. She was bored and hungry, and perhaps her jaunt would scare up some prey. The female had a lack of patience today; fishing would only tire her.

Having smelled the male before he came into her sights caused the ebony canine to smooth her composure in one fell motion. The crackle of a twig furthered alerted her ears. Tethys turned to the direction of the scent, giving her chest a few licks and straightening out her body to steady her legs. Braced on four paws, the wolf was ready for either fight or flirt; either option sparked a glint in her blue eyes.

Hey, handsome. You alone?
Tethys had stepped towards the grayscaled male, her tail lifted and the tip flicking. Her voice rung out with a casual tone, lips curled into a smile.
It was no aggressive posture, more so than one of a relaxed greeting. The male didn't smell of any pack, nor did he come barreling down the river shore with teeth bared. And he was cute, so Tethys would do what she did best.
What ever surprise he had hope to have seem to not be there at all. He should have expected that, sneaking up on an assassin is no easy task. They are just as trained as Knights. The only real difference was the propose behind it. But seeing how this female shown no signs of hostility he immediately rose into a more presentable position. He stood up straight with head held high still quite cautious about this wolf.

The words she used caused even more distrust. He believed was clearly something an assassin would say. The plan of action was to not answer her question. If she didn't know for sure he was alone then that meant she would not engage and play innocent. Yes, he agreed with himself, That's what an assassin would do. He cleared his throat before giving a reply. "That is classified information m'lady. Just to assure you, I was not sneaking up on you. I was just cautiously trying to discover the unusual scent around here. You smell more of flowers, are you trying to cover your own scent?" he said a bit loudly yet calm.

He believed that she would make up some excuse for smelling like some kind of flower. The goal behind all this was the discover her goal. Was she on a mission or was she off duty and just taking the day off? If he could find out who she targeted he might be able to save a life. There would be no point in stopping her here. Stopping her on the job will be much more rewarding and surely it would allow the others who witness understand what Knights are.

Like a feather she drifted into the lip of the river as the male drew closer, swaying with the small current that tugged at her toes. With teeth that glinted in the soft light, Tethys turned away from him briefly to tilt her head back and feel a soft breeze caress under her jawline. Her eyes were narrow slits as she listened, pondering while her skull was focused in another direction.

The male seemed a little wary of her presence as she responded. It's like my own perfume, Tethys dismissed airily, grinning. If I wanted to hide from you, I'd be long gone.

He seemed a little too bulky to be a water-dwelling wolf. With a thick grayish coat and a compact appearance, this stranger seemed the noble hunter sort. Cute, but not her type. What fancy brings you down here?
Nishu watched this black wolf carefully. Turning away could mean the end if he ever suddenly became a target. It was best to keep guard up at all times. There was no doubt that she was smart and charm seem to be one of her useful tools but he isn't going to fall for it.

"What's wrong with your own perfume?" He said questioning her and still believing that she is an assassin. Having more than one wolf smell the same could easily trick others. This perfume must be her favorite if she claims that it's her own perfume.

He continued speaking. "You could be skilled but don't underestimate a Knight, We train hard to be able to master arts such as hunting and tracking." He stopped for a moment thinking of what he is doing here. In truth he was just wondering looking for wolves with the propose of restoring their faith in Knights. It made him wonder if she even knew what Knight were. "I guess you could say I came here to prove myself. The word Knight seemed to be used only in fairy tales, as if no one believed we exist. I suppose you too think Knights are just something from a fairytale." With that said he was curious to know what her reaction will be. An assassin should know about knights right? They are enemies due to the fact one protects and one kills. Surely she knows.

I just like the smell of lavender,
she frivolously replied. There was wariness in this brute's eyes, something Tethys was feeding off of to fuel her flirty but snarky sort of behavior.
Isn't there the scent of something that you prefer? Tethys grinned. Perhaps the smell of honor?

He had launched into a tale of his own career, a story befitting a noble and vibrant past. A knight. She had never heard of such a thing- there were kings, queens, their subordinates... princesses like her who were born to be groomed for the alpha role. But this greyish brown creature was full of humble pride as he recited some sundry beliefs about being a knight. She was charmed.
Tethys' tail lowered, crouching slightly to flick water. Crystal droplets sailed in an arched trajectory as she replied to his little parable.

I've never heard of knights, so some of that was lost on me. But I'm sure you can prove yourself to someone. Blue eyes twinkling with mischief, the female added something else. How can we test how good of a knight you are?
"Smell of.. honor?" he said slowly, needing a bit of time to understand that phrase. Was there some kind of honor with a smell? He wondered if it was possible but he had never heard of honor having some kind of scent. Instead of thinking too long on it he noticed that this wolf was standing in the river. He personally didn't like water due to the fact it makes him heavier thus making traveling harder. Staying dry was better unless training is involved. Still there are some exceptions.

There was a bit of doubt towards the idea that she was an assassin but she was strange. There was an odd feeling towards her. Her words felt like a taunt, at first she said she was sure he can prove that he is a great knight but then said she wants to test that. He felt like he needed to show her what he is capable of wether she really knows about knights or not.

"Testing a Knight doesn't take a few minutes. Devotion, Dedication, and Strength takes time to see. If you want to 'test' then that means I must prove myself to you. I'll temporarily offer myself as your Knight, If that's what it takes to show you what real knights are." He said in a loud proud tone. He kept himself straight as he sat down. This may be just one small step but that gives him the spirit to go along with this. Nishu will not give up if this test really begins, It will be a real warm up but also a real test. But it would be meaningless if she changed her mind.

The male had sat down, and muscles rolled under his thick, beige coat. He was being serious. There was stoicism under his proud, honorable mask as he gazed upon Tethys with steady, silver-rimmed yellow eyes. Her eyes only seemed to glimmer and widen more as he spoke. ...Temporarily offer myself up as your Knight....

Tethys waded out of the river and stood in front of him, her cerulean eyes never once leaving his. They were like the color of a calm sea, glassy smooth, but the murmur of waves shone through. That's a pretty deep commitment you're about to make, Sir.... She left a pause for his name. I run with a pretty unconventional pack. You can forget nobility. How about second class citizenship? The Nereides were no regular clan- females were in control, males were lower than the lowest ranking female. How well would his code of honor work in that situation? I'm Tethys, by the way.
Offering his service got the attention he was looking for. She approached him and kept eye contact. Nishu had never been able to look down or away when someone superior rank looked at him. It was normal, Knights were considered a honor to have. They know that eye contact provides lots of information so it was recommended to always keep eye contact. There was a bonus that Nishu did enjoy, some eyes looked like gems and that made it easier to stare.

"Sir Nishu Inte" he said completeing her first sentence. "A deeper commitment would be for me to pledge myself to you until the day you find a mate. Temperary service is truely nothing compared to that." He was a bit confused about the next part, or perhaps just didn't understand it. "I don't understand what you mean by second class citizenship. A Knight remains a Knight to the master he serves, nothing more nothing less." he said as confident and proudly as ever.

If this was going to lead him to a pack that meant he could prove himself to all wolves there. It's much better than one wolf at a time. This idea made him ready to take this action of being Tethys' temperary Knight. There was no doubt in mind, this was the right path to take or so he believed.

The male proudly met her gaze with his, something Tethys was surprised at. No doubt the Ankyra would never stand for such insolence from a brute, but for now, the ebony female would let it slide. There were some terms and conditions she wanted to lay out, if this was all going to go down.

If you wanted to be truly tested, then I've think you've found the right gal, Tethys spoke with a grin. The Nereides are a female-dominated pack. Males have no rights, and are relegated to little more than soldiers. Forget knight, you'd be a second-hand slave. It'd be more than a test of patience. You might need to tap into those others traits you were talking about.

She slid past him, her black fur brushing against his shoulder as Tethys came to a halt behind him, gazing seawards. But, I'm sure we could make some use of you.
Clearly this service won't be the usual one. Knights serve royalty and are usually the ones called elites and such. Nishu didn't know what kind of rank Tethys had, this meant that for the first time he might need to keep his title hidden to others. He didn't like the idea of being called a slave but this was a temperary service so it made it feel possible to play along.

He thought about what she said as she slightly brushed against him as she slid past. It didn't bother him at all. He got up and turned around still keeping an eye on her. "I was trained to serve only royalty all my life. I'll always be a Knight and I'll prove that I'm great at being one. If it's necessary for me to be called a slave then so be it but to act like one is beyond me." He paused a bit before continuing. "Anyway I'll consider you as royalty and as my master so I'll follow your orders only, most orders are absolute with some exceptions. Know that I'm only yours for the time being. Note that it's up to you to make use of me other wise I'll act on my own for your well being and security." He said basically saying what she should expect from him.

The idea of the pack being female-dominated didn't move him at all. Maybe it's because he had no clue what to really expect. It did give him the idea that he should think before acting. Tethys here already knows that he is a Knight but did he really have to pretend not to be one?

((OOC: What am I getting him into? xD))
ahah if you want to go ahead with this, i'll make this my last post and tag you in another one for the pack ^^

She nodded silently, moving up the hill with a flick of her tail, scanning the forest edge. Thinking for a moment, Tethys opened her lips to respond, a small smile tugging at the edges. I'm sure we can find some way for this to work, then. We'll incorporate my wishes with your little honor code.

With the fall wind beginning to pick up, Tethys trudged up the river hill, glancing over her shoulder. Come, she called as Tethys crested the hill and stared at him. Yes, with his build and obvious loyalty, Inte had his work cut out for him.
"I'll be at your side m'lady" He said honorably. He rushed to her side and then followed her pace. Nishu considered this the begining of his mission. Now he can rest easier knowing that time is no longer being wasted. Even if this is just a temperary he'll do the best he can. Proving himself shouldn't be difficult, All he needed to do was keep watch on Tethys' surroundings and grant her wishes if possible. How hard could it be?

((OOC: Alright, tag away! You know Nishu might end up joining alot of Tethys' threads now. I guess this also means he isn't a loner now. Anyway I think this will be fun for me and perhaps others xD))
