For a brief moment he thought it was one of his brothers calling before realizing it was the voice of a female. The longing for his siblings, not even his full blooded ones, any of his siblings seem to have seeped into his blood and corrupted his brain. He shook the feeling away instead concentrated on the voice, it was familiar, someone he had met before. It took him a moment to realize who it was. The female he had met in Gyrfalcon's Keep. Had she decided to finally join him? A good choice with winter coming up.
The Praetor wondered whether or not approach the scene or let another pack wolf do it. He decided to just approach first, for he knew her and did not want any misunderstandings by his borders. But the female was smart enough not to trespass, hopefully, because if she did, he would have no choice but to chase her away and to him that was a waste of a good wolf.
So the sterling Roman made his way towards the source of the call, silver eyes harsh and cold with a slither of warmth as he neared the female. She stood on four paws, head dipped slightly and tail at her ankles. A small smile appeared on the youth's face, something rare when he was patrolling, and spoke in a soft tone "Solveig."
Saw you had some computer trouble. Did you get it worked out or are you still on the old laptop? :) Also hello!
The sound of a wolf approaching rises over the comforting noise of the woodland, and autumnal birdsong. Soft paws flatten against earth; it is a tell too familiar to the brutish female and one she committed to memory long ago. Her ears pivot forward and track the shadow; no, the true Shadow, as he makes his approach. She is pleased that he has made no attempt to hide himself from her, and it brings her no small comfort that he seems to walk confidently in the footprints of ancient leaders.
The trace of a smile gentles her harsh northern features.
"Shadow," She murmurs fondly and tilts her head, "You are hale, She remarks with a swish of her tail and a kind nod. "I am pleased that you are no idle dreamer." She wasn't one to continue on with compliments for too long; her words, rare as they were, carried enough weight as he might learn in time. "I would join you, if you would have me."
Yo :D Getting it fixed in a week or so, still using my old laptop
"Shadow," Solveig murmured, was that fondness in her voice? A faint smile crossed his Roman features as he canted his head slightly.
"Thank you, Solveig." he replied with a faint hint of warmness in his tone.
"I would join you, if you would have me." she said. He took a step forward, remembering the words they had exchanged in Gyrfalcon's Keep. She had kept her promise, or what he deemed to be a promise to join his pack. He hadn't been sure she would join, thinking she might choose to just wander around as a loner.
"What skills do you have that you will offer to the Bypass?" he asked with a slight tilt of his head. He did not ask her about the slacking part because he sincerely doubted that Solveig would actually do it. She did not seem like the type to slack and laze around, not contributing to pack life.
That's good!
When he took a step forward she did not shrink away in fear. Instead she offered a lower bow of her head out of respect for his newly acquired position (and him, of course). Sure as night and day, he asked her one of the questions she had anticipated. It was common protocol; she couldn't have, and wouldn't have, assumed he knew she was worthy from just one conversation.
Her gaze flickers up to his chin, but no higher. "My birthhome granted me the title of Skjǫldr when I saw my second winter. It means "shield" in this common language." She replies in a factual tone. "I was a defender, but not an instigator. I was called upon to protect our infirm and our young when our home was threatened." One ear twitches back, "My father also taught me what he knew of healing. He was quite adept; I am adequate."
The skin on her nose wrinkles a bit and she shifts her weight around. It is clear she is not used to talking so much.
The smile on his features did not leave as she bowed her head in respect, her gaze flickered up towards him but not too high to be challenging and disrespectful. The Praetor listened as she spoke about her birth place granting her a title that meant shield in English. That she was a defender and she was called upon to protect the young and infirm when their home was threatened. She had a much better story, excuse, something to offer the pack than most. Keen platinum eyes noticed the way she shifted as if not used to talking so much. "Hey, look at me." he said in quietly, gently at her.
He had decided, before she even spoke that she was a welcomed member in his pack. "I expect all members of Noctisardor Bypass to contribute where they can, slackers are not tolerated here." he paused, that was just standard procedure. He was sure though that Solveig would not laze around. "As long as you swear loyalty and allegiance to me and to this family, you are welcomed here, Solveig." Smiling at the female, Shadow turned and left, telling her to take a walk around her new home.
