@Hermes <3

a deep pout set over loko's features as he hung from his favored cliff spot. somewhere down below him, in ankyra's great stretch of beach, came the clapping barks of seals.

he knew better than to try to revisit the sound. all the same, his legs were afire with impulse and he felt a restlessness settle over him thick as a swarm.
Despite the many hours of busy work Hermes gave himself each day, he’d always find the time to be his little brother’s guard dog of sorts. Morning, midday or night, @Dionysus was bound to see his face.
Hermes yet to track down his brother today however. After haphazardly marking the borders he’d gone off to the cliffs. There he found Loko; a boy he’d hardly interacted with aside from a pack meeting or two.
Hello, he called. His voice as militant as ever.
loko's studying of the sea below broke. besides him, a boy his own age came close.

loko knew him as hermes and that was where his knowledge ended. how he had come to sapphique's family was a mystery too. he took a moment to study hermes' features: a quahog-shell white, darkened by sepia and black.

so grave was the voice that came from him! loko marveled it, so very different from his own which still cracked with boyish pitch. hello. wanna see some'ting cool?
Hermes wasn’t sure how to carry on the conversation, had this been one for a second. During the brief pause, he fidgeted with his paws. For a moment his mind wandered. He thought Dionysus, where he may be now, and if the boy had seen his brother wandering somewhere. He nearly asked about it, but before the question left his mouth Loko asked a question of his own.
”wanna see some’ting cool?”
His jaw closed slowly, and he looked to his left, then left, until finally he turned back to Loko.  Puzzlement was etched into his features.
Um… yes?
it was good hermes didn't ask about his brother; loko wouldn't have known who the boy was, for he kept mostly to himself these days.

he nearly laughed as hermes looked left, then right -- as if someone else were here! loko's eyes sparkled.

ever since he had discovered this little spot, it was all he could think about. a treasure, all his own. it be dis way. you aren't spooked by the dark, right? loko was already off, casting a glance behind him once before he scurried to the cliffs.
Hermes furrowed his brow as though the question had been an insult. I ain’t scared, he huffed, feeling the need to defend himself. But Loko had already ran off.
Hey, wait for me! Hermes scurried along after him.
hope the slight PP is ok, DM me if it isn't!! <333

loko didn't wait, though he heard hermes' huff and subsequent claim he wasn't scared. of course not, no one ever was -- but just wait, loko thought with a grin.

his speed was nearly breakneck as he headed west to the spot. he was out of breath by the time they got there, and slowed only when he heard hermes' tread behind him. with great showmanship, loko pointed to the snarling hole in the earth and said: lay-dees first.
