The sun had been allusive all day, hidden be the moving clouds. Despite that, the day had turned out quite beautiful. Selamuit had spent most it exploring the territory beneath the glacier. He had gotten carried away, traveling farther than intended but no less welcome. His upbringing taught him a great love for travel and adventure, a love that continued to this day.

As he journeyed however, purpose crossed his path. He noticed a dangling broken branch to the side and paused to inspect the damage. Something had passed through here not to long ago. Sela lowered his head, sniffing the twig. A deer. A tiny deer at that, based on the height of the branch.

Looking closer, Selamuit searched for any indications of which way it might have gone. With a glance over his shoulder, the northern man stepped aside. Indicating for his companion to take a closer look. "You hungry?” He asked with a smirk, his voice low, only audible between the two; should prey linger near by.

Keyni was in no rush to pay Moonglow a visit just yet. Especially bearing in mind that her companion still planned on doing some traveling himself, to look for his siblings. She only wished she could be of more help in tracking them down for him. The day was overcast. Not her most favorite weather, but it was still quite pleasant. There was a hint of spring in the air. The open field was slowly beginning to come to life again, golden strands of grass sprouting through the melting snow.

She was only a few steps behind him, sifting easily through the grasses. Just as he had, she also had picked up the trail of the deer. Her head was low, dark nose above the ground. She popped her head up, keeping her voice at a whispers level. "I am, actually. I haven't had a proper sized meal in ages." Rabbits and mice only stretched so far and got old fast. She took another step and gestured down. By her paws, the grass was spread and bent at unnatural angles. A set of small hoof tracks led away, deeper into the sea of gold.

“Well we shouldn’t keep you waiting then.” He smirked again, following her snout and her gaze to the tracks. With an amused pop of his brow, Sela set off. His experience in the snow obvious, as barely a shift was heard.

Emerald eyes took on a concentrated hue. Selamuit was determined and focused to the task at foot. He hadn’t eaten in some time either, to preoccupied with other things to bother. He was a provider at heart, always more inclined to take care of those around him than worry about his own personal needs.

The snow grew into slush as they headed out of the semi-covered surrounding. A meadow, he noted. The grass was only just peaking through the mucky snow and mud and would be of little use for cover. With the lack of camouflage, the deer would probably see them from far off. Sela predicted this would end in a battle of endurance, as they would mostly likely have to run the deer out of energy before taking it down.

She mirrored his smirk, slightly. "I can wait a little longer. Long enough to bag us this meal, that is." She kept her voice at that same quiet tone as before. The Tundrian had never hunted with Selamuit before. In fact, it had been some time since she had hunted with anyone at all. She had almost gotten used to going after smaller game on her own. Knowing that today, they were targeting something more substantial, well, it thrilled her.

Deliberately, she followed his every move with her eyes. Watching his form, how he conducted himself in creeping further out into the open. Every wolf was different, she knew. Either due to their build and size, or be it their preference of tactics. She smiled to herself, pleased at his soundless step. His alabaster coat though, may serve as a white flag in the golden grasses.

Ducking down low by a few inches, Keyni slinked up alongside him. She used a series of long, rapid strides. The grays, silvers and fawns of her coat broke up her image more in the grass. Despite her heavily furred paws, she moved in relative silence. She grumbled at seeing the tall grasses grow shorter further out. Less cover. "We'll have to tire it out. Where do excel better in? Strength or speed?" She whispered.
