hoping for an @Aquene before she 'pops' <3

he had never thought he would do this. seek how to...heal. to tend. but he was aware the medicus was about to be a mother herself and he felt emboldened by a frenzy to tend to @Towhee.

what if she needed something while the healer was too busy with her own children?

when the healer was gone?

so he hoped to come make a trade. a plump pheasant hung from his jaws, a soft greeting rumble as he neared wherever she seemed to be at this moment. resting likely, if he had to base off of towhee's own state of being.
Aquene had been resting when the other Russian arrived, but the pheasant in his jaws and the rumble had caused her to stir with confusion. She’d been having pangs on and off and she knew that at any moment she could go into labor. The date was fast approaching, and she felt much better about it knowing that Qiao would oversee her birthing experience and that her husband was going to be right there with her. He had returned and he would not leave her side until at least after their children were born.

It was crazy how quickly both of them had been able to accept that they were going to have children after originally planning on… well… not having children. “Максим? Входите. Что-то не так?” The native tongue slipped easily from her maw.
I'm on mobile at work so just assume the italics are Russian pls ;;

she looked positively pregnant. which was, duh, obviously. except it made him realize that towhee may have not been at the end of all of this just yet.

he would set down the pheasant within her reach before he spoke

everything is okay. he sought to reassure first, before he settled down onto his rear. i was...actually hoping you might teach me. if it is not too much to ask. i wish to be prepared with towhee — and others if absolutely needed.
She took the pheasant with a grateful expression on her features when it was set within her reach. To be honest, she had assumed that he was merely passing by and that the pheasant was for Towhee… but it appeared she was mistaken and she would never turn down food, especially not this late in the game. He reassured her that everything was fine and she felt relief. She didn’t know if she could possibly muster the energy right now to leave the den much less deal with any kind of medical emergency.

Her ears perked up and her head tilted to the side when he inquired about healing. "Об исцелении?" She had never known that he had an interest. He started to explain and she hummed softly before nodding. "Конечно... если вы хотите учиться, то я буду более чем счастлив учить." It actively offered her a solution to her dilemma of uncertainty around leaving… if he learned to heal, he could double his duties of being a soldier with healing duties. She could answer calls, but he could handle the day to day stuff at the very least.
she was very kind. never had he thought her mean, but he knew he had been bullheadedly boyish in the earlier spring. eyes heavy upon any good face. now he was softened, a future already laid before him in the curves of towhee.

i know you need to take it easy, so i am happy to do the hardwork of learning. this said with a likely misplaced kindness. he had come to learn that most did not take kindly to the men waltzing in with a take it easy line, but he only said such out of respect for her current state.

where do we start?
She listened to his next words and raised an eyebrow at him. Perhaps Kallik had told him such foolish things. “Чепуха, уверяю вас, я вполне в порядке, чтобы преподавать в моем нынешнем состоянии… кроме беготни к таблинуму, ничего из того, что мы делаем, не будет интенсивным. Даже тогда я держу здесь небольшое хранилище трав на случай чрезвычайных ситуаций, которых более чем достаточно для начала.” She assured him, gently but sternly correcting the misplaced kindness on her condition. She was going to be more than fine. She was already taking it easy and it was threatening to drive her mad.

The next question cause a hum. “Ну, это зависит от тебя, Максим. С какого исцеления вы хотите начать? Есть боевые ранения и травмы, или, возможно, более физические недуги, внутренние… и затем, конечно, уход за беременными и уход за щенками.” The three branches worked in unison, but it worked best to simply go one at a time.
he should have known better, truthfully. and he showed this with an apologetic, meek smile to her. a respectful nod of his head for good measure. nonsense, maxim, do not fret over heavily pregnant women!

i know it is odd, but i had hopes of learning about...the pregnancy. and child care. he imagined everything would be fine with an experienced mother of his children, but it did not mean he should not figure some things out too.
She did not find the request all that odd, and so with it came a soft smile on her features, fluttering back to the common in the process. “Also nonsense. It is not unusual, especially given how your wife is expecting a litter of her own.” She stated in a way meant to soothe any anxiety he might have about learning.

“Pregnancy is a beautiful thing… in your wife’s case, she has had some side effects, yes? The body changes much when it comes to bearing children. It can come with mood swings, or more physical symptoms like vomiting and peeing a lot. It’s because the children are shifting around while they develop, and sometimes they kick things… it doesn’t hurt the body, but it can cause some unpleasantries… in your wife’s case, she also had what she affectionately called ‘nip drip’… she started to lactate before your children arrived. I gave her an herb called peppermint to help, but her case was quite severe so she helped nurse the Lady Ruenna’s children.” She figured that which related to his wife's case would be easier to start with.
