maybe someone from Sacrarium? <3. Decided to toss a little wrench to push her into tryin a pack out! (She isn't dead but isn't breathing either)

For a while, Fennec had fully embraced the freedom the shore offered. She wasn't sure why but there was something healing about the water and even, yes, the sand. Unfortunately the ocean was a dangerous place, and Fennec's luck had a way of running out on her.

Even if she could see, Fennec never would have known to recognize the warning signs. The riptide had her before she knew what was happening and had pulled her under, carrying her further and further out into the depths. She tried to struggle and didn't know any better - her struggles were directly against the current and ended up being meaningless.

She breathed in salt and, after a while, the water was free to take her where it wanted. Fortunately it drove her to a nearby beach and Fennec's body bobbed to the surface, moving with the incoming tide but showing no other signs of life.
They had been on patrol, Vagabond and Violante, and had followed the river out of their territory. It was here that Violante spotted it — a dark shape on the water being pushed and pulled by the tide. All she could do was give Vagabond a look before she bolted for the sea; it was unlikely a three-legged wolf could save another from drowning.

The tide sucked her in, but her time patrolling, endlessly working, had hardened her body. She could fight the sea, for now. She made it to the half-drowned wolf and grabbed her roughly by the scruff, pulling them both closer to the shore.

Once closer to the shallows, she rasped, "Help me get her on dry land. She's not responsive."
Gently taking the stranger into his own grasp Vagabond quickly helped to drag her onto the shore. It was a bit awkward trying to balance the weight but he had found a way and soon they were all on the shore. "My love, would you believe it if I told you I've briefly met this wolf recently?"
It was lucky that Fennec was light because she was dead weight as they dragged her out and onto the sand. Her jaws hung slack and open and her tongue lolled partially out, but her sides didn't move. She'd inhaled too much water for her lungs to even know what to do with air anymore. The only sign that she was even still alive was her heartbeat.

If she didn't get a reboot soon, though, it was unclear how long even that would last.

If you want to pp her and/or skip me feel free <3 otherwise I don't mind popping in each round with somethin
When they were on the sand, Vagabond mentioned knowing the female — it didn't matter much in that moment, though, because the female wasn't breathing. "Shit." Violante cast a frenzied gaze to her mate before she moved to stand above Fennec's limp body. Panicked, she made sure the other wolf's airways were open before she began to jump onto her chest, forepaws thudding dully with each beat. She'd never done this before, but she'd seen her father revive a boy who'd nearly drowned in a river. And then, though she detested doing it, Violante gently closed Fennec's mouth, gripped her about the nose, and blew as much air as she could into the other female. She would repeat this until the other woke, or until her own body gave out.
While Violante went to work trying to bring life back to the female Vagabond was brought back to the meeting he had with the stranger wolf. "She is a loner, but she was supposed to be traveling with another." He felt useless, and it frustrated him. Where was this women's companion and how on earth had she found herself nearly dead in the ocean in the first place?
In the meantime, Fennec was having a pretty magnificent dream. Killdeer was there, but he was younger, the age he was before he left home. They were playing a game of tag and, somehow, she knew this place without any doubt. Her mind had created it, so it did make sense that she wouldn't need to guess where things were. They were completely alone in this place.

The scene flickered. Fennec convulsed on the sand and choked as she tried to take in air. At first she couldn't manage much more than a strangled gurgle, but as Violante pounded on her chest, she coughed up a few mouthfuls of seawater.

Killdeer didn't come back and now her throat and lungs burned. Where was she?
A loner, with a friend nowhere to be seen. Another pound, and the half-drowned woman coughed up water; Violante quickly retreated a pace or two. She was breathing, and her eyes were open. They were clouded, milky, even — Violante wondered if she was blind. The Vicera told her gently, "Hello there — we found you in the water. You weren't breathing," her own breath hitched slightly, and she cleared her throat. "How are you feeling? I have a medic who should see you, but she cannot travel here." As unfortunate as it was to have a medic who could not leave her home, Violante was still incredibly grateful to have Lorelai as part of Sacrarium; she would know what to do from here.
"Hey, my name is Vagabond, I was patrolling with Violante, I'm not sure if you remember me from the other day." He wanted to make sure she knew he was there too so she wouldn't be startled. Hell, maybe even take comfort from a friendly....voice? He didn't want to overwhelm her though, and would keep his distance for now.
There were two of them? She thought so at least, and she stiffened as she heaved and tried to catch her breath. Everything was too fuzzed around the edges for her to catch Violante's initial words completely. She tuned in on medic and then realized, when the other voice joined, that she recognized it.

Her throat was too raw and she let out a croak before coughing more. Instead of confirming or introducing herself, she just nodded. It was a little unnatural for her and wasn't how she usually operated, but she hoped the visual cue meant something to them and that she'd done it correctly.
<3 This is the last from me!

Her throat must have been raw from all the saltwater, but Violante was lucky enough to have never experienced it herself. Still, she nodded, so Violante helped get her back on her paws, and then she said, "Alright, we'll get you settled, and once you see Lorelai, you can rest." She imagined the other female must be exhausted. "Let's get a den set up for her once we get home; Noir can gather what we need..." Violante then turned, to lead her odd part home.
skipping with permission! Wrapping this up <3

Fennec allowed them to lead her to their home. She would take advantage of their hospitality for as long as it took to get her feet under her again, but as soon as she was able, Fennec would disappear from their midst without a word of farewell.

This disappearance would take her from both their boundaries and the wilds altogether. Where she was headed, she wasn't sure, but wherever it was - Fennec would be no more. Her name, her past, all of it would disappear with her, left abandoned with so many other important things too painful to think about.

One day she'd come back and reclaim them.
