Rodyn wound his way through a thicket full of trees. The early morning son painting the tapestry of color in shades of gentle orange. His tail waved happily behind him as he maneuvered through. His paw steps light and carefree. This was what home had been like. And though he enjoyed the mountains around. There was nothing quite like forest for the youth.

He kept away from the brambles in the thicket. Knowing all to intimately what they could do to a pelt and your skin. It was most unbecoming. He stopped a moment to watch as a bee lazily lapped at some of the fruit that had fallen. His ears tweaked forward and his gentle gaze searching, searing, enjoying.
Void scented another male wolf in the area. Though he'd been looking for a potential mate in a female, he'd be down to fight another male. Or perhaps make an alliance. I'd be nice to have someone he could go to when he needed something, or when he was ready to make a pack. The 2 year old stepped out of the shadows, making himself visible to the other male, and getting a good look at the other wolf.

He seemed to be about the same age, nearly exactly Void's age from what he could tell, and he almost looked like a dilute version of Void, being he was a browner wolf and had warm yellow eyes, while Void was black and had sharp yellow eyes. He looked friendly enough so Void held a semi-dominant stance before barking at the male.
Ro heard soft footfals and lifted autumn hued head to peer at the other youth in front of him as he stepped from shadow cover. Rodyn didn't particularly like fighting, but he could do it. He much preferred geniality to cruelty.

Yellow eyes peered out of blackened face. Limber and young near Rodyns own age. Rodyn took notice of the stance and put himself in a similar one. He was not for a show of dominance, preferred neutrality, but he also wouldn't submit to a non-pack wolf.

Hello there. I'm Rodyn.
The wolf showed no hostility so avoid relaxed his stance a bit, showing dominance still but his muscles were no longer rippling under his fur and he had much more of a passive appearance.
“My names Void.” The black male replied. Rodyn seemed like a passive wolf and Void had been lonely lately so he thought instead of fighting, he’d try to be nice and perhaps make an alliance. “You live here?” Void said, more a statement than a question. He nodded his head, taking in his surroundings
Rodyn stayed in his current position. Though he kept a wary eye on the strangers stance. He didn't seem like he wanted to cause any issues, but the stranger still kept an easy dominant stance. For now he'd watch.

Well met Void.

Rodyn moved closer to better hear. His hearing was good, but he didnt want to shout at the poor guy. He stopped a way aways and shook his head, a wag of his tail.

No havent decided where I'm settling in yet. I have stuck close to here, but i roam. Spoke with a few packs that lay claim.

"I'm pretty much the same." Void replied. "I have a place up in the sunspire mountains but I often don't stay there." The black wolf replied. "How would you feel about having an alliance? Or a neutrality between the two of us at least, meaning we could help eachother if needed?" Void asked. He wasn't sure if he was pushing this conversation too fast but he didn't think Rodyn would attack him unless he provoked.
Rodyn tilted an ear forward and listened calmly. The Sunspire Mountains, was that near Moon Woman? He wasn't certain. The wind whispered across his fur.

I don't even have a set place I den in right now. He admitted quietly. He wasn't ashamed of it, just hadn't gotten around to it. The point was to find another pack, settle down maybe.

The next question got his mind working and instead of answering right away. He studied the young wolf next to him. He seemed decent enough, he hadn't provoked an attack. Been kind thus far.

I'm always up for new friends or I suppose alliances. Do you get yourself in a lot of trouble? He wasn't asking to be rude or not. He just honestly wanted to know what he was getting into. Be prepared and all that jazz.
"depends..." Void admitted. "The first encounter I had around these areas was with a she-wolf, and I was kinda being a jerk to her, but only after she started off tart towards me, and we had a fight." Void replied, gesturing to the bite wound on his shoulder that was still healing from the she-wolf. He had other nicks and scratches from her, but the bite was the most prominent. "I had another encounter, shortly after, with a young shewolf, not much more than a pup, who was on her own near a pack territory, and I tried to help her out, warn her, but the pack came, and one of the 2 wolves talking to us had a problem with me. I think she wasn't comfortable with lone males or something, because she was soft towards the shewolf. She didn't attack me and I left in peace though." Void told Rodyn. "So if you call that getting myself into trouble a lot, then yeah, I guess I do, when all I really want to do is create an alliance and eventually start a pack..." Void admitted. "Just haven't really met anyone that didn't want to kill me, other than you." He added.
Rodyn listened without judgement. He knew well how hot blooded youths could be. It bothered him a bit that he always seemed to get in trouble with she-wolves, was he mean to them first? Rodyn was a respectful type when it came to femme's always had been. Partly cause of his mom and sister. They would kicked his rear from here to kingdom come had he treated anyone less than respectful, more so if it was a she-wolf.

That's two encounters. I can't judge you on that. I wouldn't say you incite trouble, as of yet. I'm looking for a pack, but haven't decided on one  yet. But i'll be in your alliance for now. Though i'll warn you. You do something I think deserves a call out. I will call you out that is. Respectful like, but still will.

Rodyn twitched his tail. You looking at the mountain for your pack? There's already about three packs here you know if you were.
Void nodded. He completely understood Rodyns reasoning. "The same shall go for you then." Void replied.

When Rodyn mentioned packs, Void nodded, but replied "I am aware of the many packs around here, but I am not one who likes to be told what to do..." He said. "I think for me to be able to be in a pack that is good for myself and others, I would have to be the alpha and founder of the pack. I'd want to build a pack off of my young, not join the pack of someone else's, if that makes any sense." Void explained.
Rodyn let out a breath he hadn't realized he was holding. He realized he was still a bit wary of the stranger, as friendly as he was thus far. He was matter of fact, something Ro could certainly respect.

Rodyn shook his head. No that's not what i meant. He furrowed his brow trying to realize how to say what he meant without causing offense. Though truthfully it wasn't offensive what he was trying to say, he just didn't know how to say it.

I meant that if you wished to found one around here. You need to be careful of encroaching. As you well know we are a territorial breed and I'd rather not have your hide get screwed up or have you get a severe wound. I know a little of healing, but not enough to save anyone.
Ohh. That made more sense. Void nodded his head, understanding now what Rodyn had meant. "ah, that makes more sense. I will take that into consideration. The mountains have always been my home, but perhaps I could find another area with less packs." Void thought aloud. "Thank you for clarifying." He added.

"Would you ever want to start your own pack? Or join one? Or just be a lone wolf permanently?" Void asked.
Rodyn chuckled kindly. Sorry about the confusion to begin with.

He listened, his eyes toward the mountains. Mountains are new to me. I was a forest wolf. But I am trying my hand at the mountains they are beautiful and dangerous too. But they fascinate me. And they did he looked to the peaks again.

I don't want to be a loner for the rest of my life, no. I actually know of the packs around because I am searching for one. So I would join one yes.
Void nodded. "I don't want to be a loner my whole life either, but it seems all the shewolfs I meet have an attitude and want me dead." Void chuckled. But his eyes were serious, and full of loneliness. The days conversation with Rodyn was the biggest positive social interaction he'd had since he was a pup. He tried not to let Rodyn see into his feelings, but his eyes gave his thoughts away. "I wish I didn't have to be alone..." He sighed. All he really wanted was a family.
Rodyn studied the wolf in front of him. He wondered about him, did he want a friend or a mate? Did he consider only family to be those he fathered pups with? Where had he grown up, what had his parents taught him?

He wrinkled his snout. Well, what did you say to them? This isn't a criticism. I just am curious so I can see if there's a reason?

Rodyn shifted and ghosted forward then backed up, unsure how the other would take a gentle bump to his unwounded shoulder. Well you're more than welcome to travel with me if you'd like. Though I don't know where i'm going.
"To one shewolf, one who surprisingly got aggressive then fled, I said *I do not expect you to take my word for it, but I could hope you would. I can sometimes be a deadly wolf, but certain wolves, like you, give me the feeling that I do not have to be. honesty, I just want a partner, even if it's just a platonic friend.* That was after me telling her I posed no threat." Void told Rodyn. "To the other, it was kind of my fault. I started off our interaction by mocking her and ignoring her when she told me to back off and not move. Then we broke into a fight and yeah...." Void explained. "but the first wolf, I don't know what her problem was. She could've just said 'no'. She didn't have to get aggressive and then just flee the second I defended myself?" He was confused on that one.

"I would very much like that." Void replied to Rodyn as his offer for the two to travel together.
Rodyn listened calmly. It didn't make much sense, but it sounded as if it wouldn't unless he had been there. Because Void sounded confused himself. Well some who have been hurt before are on guard more than others.

Rodyn smiled. Yea I'm pretty laid back most of the time. I can be a fighter if the occasion calls for it. I just try and avoid that. Rodyn frowned at the next part. There shouldn't be any mocking.

To close to her borders? He had accidently passed over pack lines, but he tried very hard to be respectful. If Void made that a habit, they may need to have a conversation about that. But the youth seemed kind enough. They could get along, he figured.

Alright it's settled then.
"if you want, we could go back to my den to spend the nights, then travel wherever during the day." Void suggested. "If you'd rather just wander and sleep as we go, thats fine too. I've done that before as well." The wolf added.

sorry this reply is so short, didn't really know what to add!
Rodyn thought about it. He looked up at teh mountain and around. Then with a nod, he motioned for the other wolf to lead the way back to the den. They could start traveling tomorrow.

Sounds good to me.

No worries. From now on you can slightly PP Rodyn like he's with you or hunting or something, but please nothing major and tag him for important stuff. We'll have to have another thread soon :) Thank you. I'll fade and archive this.
