the rise had many new scents.
augur hunted. there was another mother he had not met. he had smelled her upon the wind but had stayed far away. her mate was a dark and lethal-looking wolf.
today he had found carrion and carried it up the side of the rise in his belly. if pressed for it, he would supply whoever asked. but for now the great grey wolf searched for a place to rest.
