The temperature was climbing steadily and that made life almost unbearable for Sanja; she had kept to the forest as much as she could, but it was not enough. All she wanted was to soak herself in the coolest water she could find - and the creek that ran through her home was not enough. It had diminished a little more each day, leaving her wanting.
The woman chose to venture further afield. She left @Bjarna in the care of @Inkeri, and kept an eye out for @Taktuq as she made her exodus from the circle. The scent of @Colt had embedded in to her skin, and each time she noticed it she felt her belly churn with regret.
Her mind drifted as she crossed the hillside. She was hot and dizzy, and sought the shadows of another forest. It was as much a leap-of-faith as she could manage. As soon as the thick green canopy crossed overhead, Sanja expected a breath of relief to settle across her body - but instead it only felt more oppressive, surrounded by foreign trees and scents.
