figured we could go a few rounds, just them & babies if u want <3 tasha lmk if aquene would join! <3

tamar's pregnancy drew to a close far later than she had anticipated.

the children swelled her hips. walking was near impossible.

through her husband, word had come that @Aquene and her family would not be joining them. tamar could not think upon this too bitterly, and sent word back to invite her friend, and to ask her to stay for the birth. perhaps it was selfish, but as time closed upon her heels, tamar grew more and more nervous.

it was a day of warm rain. she had been near the willows, in the place she had come to think of as an oasis. and there the pains had come upon her, and had broken her waters upon the mossy shore. for @Arsenio she had cried, and with his help she had returned to the den in the maples, a place of green-wrapped stones and fern-leaves lining every inch.
and here she lay, and here she moaned and cried out. the pain was almost immeasurable, and at last tamar began to cry for her mother, in the words she had only ever heard spoken in the sand — and by jawahir.
in the midst of her prayers, her body bore down, and @Antigone was born. the maples moved their rainwet branches in a whispering song. tamar pulled the boy closer and called weakly for her husband.
It was time for them to see the world.

Through the great efforts of Tamar, Antigone was the first. He felt his world shift drastically before he was met with the soothing touch of his mother. She tucked him close to her. A mixture of warmth and cold. That touch of air had never been known. The world heavy with the fall of rain on the trees.

All was dark for the pup. He shuddered and pushed a weak arm out. Until his mother had cleaned him, there would be little that he could manage. Remnants of his former habitat clung to him protectively. Antigone squirmed against the unfamiliarity of it, shocked. His body needed something and he was not sure how to get it.
Tamar’s call spurred his heart into a rapid thrumming. Arsenio did not dally in his movements to her. The man had been pacing anxiously from many yards away. Though he hated not being near her, he knew that birthing was a difficult enough task without the father anxiously checking to make sure she was safe, that their children were all healthy.

Arsenio wavered. His eyes shifted frantically. He had hoped that Aquene would have been there. The healer was knowledgeable in her arts. Having the security of her skills during the birth would have given the father some peace of mind. He fretted for the safety of his wife and children. He prayed to the Gods that they might find their entrance to the world a peaceful one.

Tamar! Arsenio’s voice broke as he called to her. He did not know if he could approach her, touch her. He did not want to strain his wife during this time. Are they… safe? Do you need anything?
Took the tag as an open invite to pop Aquene in as on a visit but let me know if that's not the case <3
While ultimately decision had led her to remain with Mereo, she could not ignore her friend’s request. When word arrived asking her to visit the Vale, and to be there for her own delivery, Aquene would not deny her. Instead, a small deer hide bundled with all kinds of plants and herbs was tucked in her maw, making her way towards the marked borders of the newly forming outpost.

She would be escorted inside, and it appeared that she arrived just on time, arriving to her friend in the throws of labor as she did not hesitate to nose her way into the den. “Tamar, I’m here. I came as fast as I could.” She assured her friend in a clam tone, a softness in her eyes as she quickly surveyed the situation. The first child was born, a boy and she would gently nose her. “Lick him clean… it will help his blood move and his body function.” She encouraged softly, knowing the bonding moment that took place from when she had bore her own children.

Children who were now to train with soldiers. She would let Tamar answer the question that came from the soldier outside the den.
all good! <3 we can keep going as accts are still being set up! tagging everyone w pacing bc of that

when tamar returned to herself, aquene was there.

her breath hitched. her eyes shone with tears. tamar pulled her son closer and began to clean his fur until it dried to down.

the pains began again, and she looked at aquene with fearful eyes. but then she shut them, and lay her chin upon her paws, and began a long low breathing that carried her eventually into stifled cries.

a second; a daughter; @Zosime.

and she was not alone.
she was sung into the world.

a symphony of blood and tears and pained sounds. it was a song that, despite all its parts, brought beauty into the world.

zosime followed her brother and to follow her closely was a sister. none of them had names to her, but she knew them all the same. the same flesh and blood and spirit!

from day one, her soul would weave tightly around those with her.
sorry to post out of order! getting the last tag up <3

there was a daughter.

tamar fixed her eyes upon aquene and then arsenio. she shut her gaze hard; the pains came and came.

but little zosime was not alone. @Zulema was with her, sliding redly into the world. tamar panted weakly but there was laughter, wonderment, tears.
so sorry it took so long for me to get this up, things were unusually busy T-T

It was then little Zulema's turn to join the world. Everything had changed from what she knew, the comfort of her mothers womb. The only familiar sensation was the bodies of her siblings around her as she was drawn close to her mother, being cleaned from her journey into this world.

Little Zulema would have nothing but love for the world she would grow to see.
Aquene would assist with helping the children out, nudging them closer to her mother and looking them over as she did so. She was glad she had made it in time, even if she had missed the early stages of labor.

She would nudge fenugreek towards the woman, encouraging her to take it softly to help with her milk supply in the coming days as she was allowed a moment to bond with her children. Aquene took a step back, allowing the family a moment before she would need to step in and give each child a check-up to ensure their breathing and overall health was good.
