Ash carried in her maw, the life giving herbs she had found. Things that helped to stave off death and sickness, things that cured aches and pains. And some like mint that tasted lovely. She would have the taste of the creamy coolness for hours to come, and she didn't mind. She was in search of a cliff or a hillock. To throw to the sea. The herbs for her gods. Atka and Sos. She wasn't certain who she followed just yet, but she was enjoying the journey to learn.

She had found a home with a new pack. Though she knew no one, it was safe and in the forest. So it made it a little easier, if she was honest. It was nice. She tilted her head and looked up at the sky. Though it wasn't yet burning down on her. It was cool enough.
Asara was curious about the new person in their pack. She hadn't met her yet and she really really wanted to. When she scented her she gave a howl. It was strong, but not quite mature, giving away her youth. She approached her with an eager wave of her tail. Hi! I'm Asara! Dad said there was someone new in the forest, what's your name? Do you wanna go hunting with me some time? She grinned eagerly.
Ash paw, shifted at the howl. They were calling for her. Why? She frowned, deep in thought. She did not know these wolves. They were overly friendly. It was, strange. Comforting, but strange. Even her auntie Thistle who was as sweet as the day was long, was not so friendly to strangers.

Ash studied the girl in front of her. Hello Asara. I'm Ash Paw.

She frowned. I can hunt with you yes. Though I will warn, I am not the greatest I get by. But well.
Ash Paw is such a pretty name! But we don't gotta hunt right now if you're doin' somethin else. What're you gonna do with all those flowers? The girl had yet to be introduced to herbs of any kind, having spent her life thus far dedicated to the pursuit of the hunt.
Ash wagged her tail. and lay the herbs down gently. A small smile on her maw.

it is the month of autum. I am sacrificing herbs to the great bear gods Atka and Sos. I will garner their favor if I am able.

She shifted her head and pointed out the herbs. Bergamot, Aloe and Mint. All help with different healing things. And Mint makes your breath smell better

Truth be told she didn't have anywhere to be other than to sacrifice these herbs. She could have hunted for a brief moment in time.
There are bear gods?! Asara's jaw dropped. You're my newest favorite person. She declared. She moved to sniff the herbs curiously. Bergamot? What's that for? And why do wolves need to have good smelling breath? The girl giggled curiously.
Ash Paw's ear went forward and back, unsure what to make of this overly friendly girl. She supposed it wasn't a big deal. So she nodded.

Yes Atka and Sos, essentially a good and bad bear in simple terms. SHe sniffed. But they are much more complex than that.

Bergamot is for fevers, it helps to get rid of infection in wounds. Her auntie had used it often on the uncle she had never met, but she had heard about him, almost her entire life.

They don't, but some like it.
She realized her new friend seemed uncomfortable and she backed away to give her some space. She was very curious about the great Bear Gods Atka and Sos that she'd never heard of. She wondered if she'd get to hear more. At the explanation of Bergamot she nodded intrigued, sitting still, uncharacteristically still.

Asara decided she did indeed like the smell of mint. She wondered where she could find it so she could try it for herself. She decided to make it her next adventure now that she had a nose for the stuff. Is there anything that smells like mint that could be bad?
Ash Paw wasn't entirely uncomfortable as much as she was just surprised at the level of affection coming from the younger girl. Not that it wasn't nice. She hadn't touched another in sometime. Even just for a gentle hug and preen that her auntie and father had been so keen and quick to offer. She found a small part of her missed the affection of family.

Ash shook her head. Not that I am aware. There are some poisons that taste sweet to your tongue though. You must be careful with those.
