he moved towards the sparring arena. the sun had begun its descent some time ago and still he found himself too filled with energy to rest.

he gave a short summoning sound to those who were free.

he wished to test his skills in the growing darkness.
You helped Reyson so he'll help you <3

Reyson had just been planning to settle down for the night, when a brief call sailed across the steepening shadows, the sun setting in it's wake. It was almost magical the way the sound came just as the world began to descent into quiet and the vibrant sun was slowly fading.

He pushed back to his feet and loped towards Maxim, eyes beginning to grow accustomed to the dim lighting. Soon darkness would be upon them. IN darkness one must watch for white teeth, and white claws, for the whites of the eyes to roll. That was when you struck.
can either do spar method like before or a simple who wins roll <3

it was the noble reyson who arrived, prepared to offer himself up for the task as usual. maxim found no surprise in this.

be my offense, scutarius. i must learn to defend in the night.

he squared himself off, prepared for a hit the best he could be.
I'm fine either way. Just let me know what you prefer. 1

Reyson was trying to do better, be better. He was still brutish and a bit stand offish, but he was learning to converse and help and exist for more than fight or die.

Reyson Narrowed his eyes, watching for teeth, claws and eyes. When Maxim squared off he saw his claws show off, momentarily, but it was enough for Reyson to rush forward, shoulder checking Maxim as he went and snapping near where his shoulder would be based on the white claw s how.
rolled for winner here <3

reyson moved at once, shoving and snapping his shoulders. maxim felt the need to stir into offense, but remained a defensive stance.

prepared to play shield, not sword.

he rammed his shoulder up into the man's neck, while reyson was over his shoulder.
Reyson misjudged his friends size and brunt force, using his former knowledge of Maxim and overstepped. Leaving his throat easily open. Not thinking for a moment that the wolf would do something he would've done, until the shoulder hit his windpipe and he gagged.

Reyson stumbled away gagging, and closing his eyes. Counting to ten, breathing through his nose and finally he was able to breath. He ran a paw along his throat, a twinkle in his eye.

well done Maxim.
he heard it. the gag and the movement away from him. hard breathing followed by an eventual return to normal.

oh shit, i killed the guy, he thought for a brief moment.

then reyson's voice met his ears and relief washed over him.

i didn't get you too bad, did i?
Reyson didn't hold it against Maxim. And he had deserved what he got. He was the fool to leave his throat open for such a hard hit.

Reyson chuckled. You got me well enough. It was a fair shot and I was the fool to open my guard enough for you to get in. You just added the knowledge you already knew and made the situation work for you.
i appreciate your help. he admitted, offering his shoulder in a much softer bump to the man now.

do you know i wish to learn to be tactician? it felt fair to discuss such things with the man.
Reyson nudged him back, a smile on his face. Though it could hardly be seen in the darkness.

Reyson made a soft hum of a sound. So you wish to be behind the scenes, helping everyone do what they need, yes? Rook was that way. He was particularly good with silent strategies. And Renaud, was very strategic at getting me to do as he wanted me too, with a few finely placed words.

There was a calmness to Reyson this evening. He hadn't felt as burdened. I think you will make a brilliant Tactician.
he laughed a little, warm and tired. a cozy kind of thing. it felt good to hear reyson speak freely to him, to not be so burdened by his own words.

do you have any advice before we part? you have experienced things i have not. it would be a tactical advantage to have your advice.
Reyson smiled. A swift, fierce thing. There are many things I could impart I suppose. You should have an idea on how to work with any terrain. At night for instancce you look for the whites of their eyes, claws and teeth. So you must be silent and observant and close.

Reyson took a deep breath. You must be flexible, you cannot be in the midst of something and have what you planned blow off and have to come up with a plan on the fly and be out of your depth. And you must be patient. No rushing.

Continue to learn. You will never know everything my friend.
gonna wrap this <3

thank you. your knowledge is more valuable than you know, reyson. he chuffed warmly, tail offered a few slow sways.

with one last respectful nod, he moved onward. ready to wrap up his evening.
