For two days Rodyn had been traveling caches made and food shared. A few pelts to his expanding number. He needed as of yet more otters and it was this thought he began the trek through the adder trees, easily picking out their tracks and their chatter.

He settled himself in a hidden copse of trees and with warm yellow eyes he watched and learned. Their habbits and their needs. He watched as the sinewy creatures twirled through the watershsrp teeth grasping at the slippery bodies, little feet reaching and parting. The wiggle of their noses as they sniffed the air. He would need to watch those terrible claws and teeth. They could rip his face.
Void had scented Rodyn nearby and had begun to track his friend down. It had been quite some time since the 2 saw eachother and Void missed him. He spotted his friend hidden in the trees, watching some otters. Void padded up silently next to him. He hoped he wouldn't startle Rodyn, hoping his scent would alert him who it was.
A scent teased his nostrils and he turned downy head towards it. A smile broke out on his face and he chuckled.

Heya Void. He whispered hia tail wagging once, twice.

His friend had new scars and Rodyn studied him. It is good to see your face friend.
"Good to see you too." Void replied, smiling as well. "You seem well." He said. "I have been myself, with the regular skirmish or 2." Void added, leaving out the pretty big fight he had with a she-wolf, and then a male that was related to her or something attacking him the next day. He had gotten pretty beat up but the marks were nothing but other scars now.

"want help with the otters?" He asked.
Rodyn nodded. I am well. I like my place among Moonglow

Rodyn chuckled. You do have skirmishes. Glad to see you are healthy none the less.

Yes please. I need 4 pelts. I know we probably won't get that many.
"Alright." Void said. He assumed it was some sort of quest for his pack or something. "I'm not the best with hunting otters, but I'll try to help you as best I can." He said. Void left out the fact that he'd never hunted otters before and hoped to just lead Rodyn to believe he wasn't good at it.
Rodyn shifted. Otters are fast and if they get in the water, we won't catch them. We want to catch them on the land, before the water's edge. They are strong and hearty. So becareful they don't harm ya. I'm sure you know this, but just to be safe.

Rodyn bent to the task of feeling the ground beneath his paws. He hoped they could each catch one. That would be the ideal thing.

He waved his tail forward and motioned with his nose at the few otters that played near the water edge. There were two he had his eye on, one to the left and oen to the right. He dipped a shoulder, and was readying himself for the one on the right.
Void listened to what Rodyn said and nodded. "Got it." He replied.

He saw Rodyn focus on an otter to the right, so Void focused himself on the one to the left of it. He readied himself like Rodyn did.
Rodyn leapt forward, his paws churning. The otters made a loud squeal, but he managed to make it to it before it could disappear into the water. He grasped it and a paw scoured at his face and eye, it left a long scratch, but he managed to get behind the creatures neck and bite down. He gave it a hard shake, then the creature hung limp from his jaws.

Rodyn lay it down gently, throwing a small thank you to Sedna for allowing him to catch the otter.

He'd split it and take the fur in a moment. He watched to see if Void would also catch his.

rolled to catch the otter. <3
rolled and caught otter

Void acted as soon as Rodyn did, because if he hesitated the otter would hear and notice Rodyn, and probably run off before Void could attack. So as Rodyn leapt foward, Void did too. Except the ground was slippery and he couldn't keep his balance very well. He grabbed the otter but it was also slippery and escaped his grasp. He struck at it as it made a break for it and managed to snag its skin. He pulled it to him and snapped its neck with his jaw. The creature was slashing its own claws though and caught him on the chin, chest, and above the eye. He killed it though and panting and bleeding from the effort, brought it back to where the ground was less slippery.
Though Void was rough around the edges, he was also a good hunting partner and always had treated Rodyn with respect and kindness. As he caught the otter next to Rodyn, Ro felt a sense of companionship with the other. He hoped he could lose some of his attitude towards others someday, it would make him an easier wolf to be around.

Rodyn moved closer. Some cobwebs will fix that right up. Mine got me too. He motioned towards the long thin slice down the side of his face.
Void nodded. "Yeah, doesn't hurt, I'll be fine." None of that was really a lie, though he felt the cuts, he didn't feel pain. "I'm just glad I caught the otter." He said with a chuckle. "I've never done it before." He admitted.

"How have things been though?" He asked, wanting to know how Rodyn's been.
Rodyn frowned in thought. Well I'm sorry you got hurt anyway.

Rodyn didn't understand Voids ways. He found nothing wrong with saying aomrthing huet sometim3s, but perhaps it was based upon where amd who he came from.

I don't normally like to kill otters, but this is a task from Moonwoman to prove my hunting prowess. So i will do it.

I've been alright. Hunting a lot spending time with Moonglow members. How about you?
spelling lmao

"Yeah, I've never thought about killing otters, never seemed do-able or something I'd want/need to do." Void replied.

"But anyway, glad you've been good. I've been alright myself, I found an old man after I got hurt and we talked peacefully for a while. I think it was one of my only peaceful interactions with someone. But then after that there was a pretty big fight I got into, with a shewolf, then a male. They were related or something and the two overpowered me. But I'm fine now." He added.
Rodyn listened making no comment about the fights. Just heard what was said. He wondered briefly of they were unprovoked attacks. Or if Void had done something, then decided he didn't need to know that.

I'm glad you got out of it okay for the most part. I've not fought often.
"Yeah, it must be different in a pack.." Void said. The thought of having a pack made him sad. Its all he wanted, he just knew he couldn't follow under someone elses rule so he needed to have his own pack. "I miss you." He said to Rodyn. "Having someone else around was nice."
Rodyn shifted and lifted a shoulder. It is, and it isn't. I mean I still do a lot of things on my own, now I just help out others, and i have friendly faces to speak with when i'm lonely, and a sense of belonging.

Rodyn frowned. I miss you too. I've been around, but every time i'm near your spot, you're not there. I figured you were roaming in search of something. Or Hunting.
"yeah I've been roaming a lot. Still looking for potential pack members, just its probably not working out since I approach almost everyone I meet aggressively.." Void said with a smirk.
Rodyn nodded his head. Probably. Why don't you try to be nicer Void. You'll make many enemies and wolves will fear you. Why have them fear you. That just seems not okay.

Rodyn did not appreciate the smirk one bit, but he said nothing. Void could do what he wished, but he felt that it was foolish to approach any and all with anger in your heart and cruelty in your paws and teeth.
"I like wolves fearing me though. But I also like wolves liking me. Its weird. I want to be liked and feared. Well known by everyone for being good but also scary." Void told Rodyn. "Does that make sense?" He asked, not sure if it was all just nonsense.
You got my 350th post with this guy

Rodyn listened and his stomach dropped like a stone. Fear was awful and it could get him killed. However, who was he to say Void was wrong.

Not to me, but if it does to you. Rodyn lifted a shoulder. He was a gentleman, a kind soul to his core.
Void nodded. "Yeah, thought so. Doesn't seem to make sense to anyone I meet. I always feel better with you though, because you give me that 'liked feeling'. I can get the 'feared' feeling from anyone." Void said. "Can I maybe hang/travel with you for a bit? Or do you have to go back to your pack?" He asked
Rodyn nodded. You can come with. I am to travel for a few moons. And return to my pack when winter comes. I plan to do a lot of hunting. Hope you're up for it.

Rodyn gave him a small grin. He may not understand Void, but he had always treated him well, and maybe he could rub off on him a little, make him see things a little differently.
Void nodded. "I love hunting. Keeps my blood pumping and gives me the adrenaline of a kill, in a less brutal way than if it were another canine." Void said with a smile.
Rodyn smiled. I like hunting. It's like a religion.

Rodyn dipped his muzzle. I need to hunt some stags and ermine and just general skill level. So i think you should come with.
