Reyson stood on the outskirts looking in. Always watchful, wary. He did not know any here, but those he had arrived with and the princess and now this priest Senmut. He shifted large body and began to slowly lumber around the outskirts.

Eyes shifting from body to body and the food and meals. There was a loudness he was unused too, and it kept him moving his ears. In this instance, it was his other senses he relied on. Smell, though it was muddled with food. Beneath his feet the feel of many pawprints, some things that he didn't wish to mention, squishing between his toes, from food discarded or fallen to the wayside.

He finally found a spot where he could see almost the entire area, he was in, and he watched silent.
Was Reyson working!?

Tierra stared at him for a moment, then came his direction. She'd been en route to get more berries (and was quite a few too many in already) but this was a call for help she couldn't ignore.

Thankfully at this point she was only tipsy. It was enough that she immediately tugged at his nape when she got to him, though, then grinned and shook her head.

C'mon! It's a party!!! Leave standing around and looking all boring for home. She made a face, then gave him a nudge. You don't have to be lame here. That's the fun of it!
Okay so imagine something like this here. here However, I can delete this assumption if you like. I just wanted to see a little of Reyson's playful side.

His eye was caught momentarily by a reddish tinge. Burnished russet with golden eyes Tierra. The young fighter. To young to be messed with, but then.

She approached him boldly and with teeth against the ruff of his nape. He grasped her paw if she didn't move, tilting her backward and to the side and leaned forward.

Be careful whose scruff you bite upon little Tierra. His voice a low growl. He met her golden eyes with his own ice blue eyes, and slowly lowered them, then back to her maw again.

He frowned and looked around. I am not being lame. This is not my normal routine.

He frowned again. I didn't know i came for fun.
Tierra just smiled and stared as she was pushed away, undeterred. His warning was cute but totally not something she was going to worry about. Why should she? When he said he didn't know that he was here to have fun, she giggled, swishing her tail carelessly.

I don't see anyone here who says otherwise. She made a show of looking around the gathering, then laughed a little louder. That's the problem. You aren't supposed to ask. Asking was the lame part. Parties were for fun, and since they'd been invited, there was no reason to think they were here for anything less. Actually, if it looked like they weren't having fun, that'd totally be worse pr in Tierra's estimation. Imagine, throwing a party and seeing your guests lurking in the corners! Rude af!
He met her gaze again and quirked the wolfish equivalent of a brow. Reyson stared at her harder.

But we came under orders. So we are in capacity of our soldier mission, yes to guard?

Reyson really thought they were there to work and the thought of having fun in the party and enjoying or imbuing himself with anything, was almost leave to give him hives.

But it is polite to ask. You don't come into my den and just make yourself at home.

He wrinkled his nose. Did you eat some of that stuff that is fermented?

Though he had no want to enjoy such things, he couldn't deny that the smell wasn't a pleasant one.
Tierra rolled her eyes as he explained. Ohhhh myyyyy gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawd. Seriously?! No wonder we never throw any parties. It's even harder to hide how lame soldiers are when you don't have, like, routine and stuff to hide behind. She groaned, then shook her head. Hopeless!!

It really didn't matter that much if he did what he wanted, but she was trying to do him a favor here. He was going to stand in the corner and waste the entire party, then spend the next month or two regretting how he'd let such an awesome night go to waste, right? The least she could do was try and prevent that.

Obvi. You should try some. It's amazing. Unless you're afraid the Imperator is going to show up and, idk, give you patrol duty for it. Now she was making fun, just a little bit.
Reyson shifted uncomfortable as she drew out her words. HE laid his ears flat to his skull, unsure what to do or say. I don't need routine. I just like it. I don't have to think to hard on what I have to do and what my past is colored with.

Reyson snorted at her and nudged her hard in the shoulder. I am not worried of that. I don't like things that inhibit my mind and body. But I have had it before. It was a common staple for birthdays and celebrations at gatherings. Fermented fruit will get you the same reaction, though perhaps not taste as well.

He stared at her and dipped his head. Well take me to it. I will try a bite of this, this honey and berries.
Her smile just grew as he shoved her playfully. See! She knew that he totally knew how to lighten up at least a little. Clearly he just needed her totally rad influence to help bring in the party spirit. Tierra had few callings that she loved as much as this one.

I bet you worry about a ton of stuff. She answered with a wave of her paw. But that's the best part about it. Parties are for forgetting all of that junk and just having fun. Then she bounced excitedly and started to take off for the place where the fruit was. C'mon! It's this way! She was stoked he'd taken her up on it!

She grabbed a bit more for herself as well. Fortunately she wasn't past her limit (yet) and it would be later in the night when she reached that point. Even just a bit would help him at least not stand so straight in the corner.
Reyson was not as stiff as everyone thought. He hadn't been before at least. Granted only in certain company and when he was sure there was no threat, but here and now. This place, he wasn't certain that it was free of enemies. He knew Germanicus trusted these wolves, and such, but Reyson didn't. He trusted no one truthfully, but he had learned once upon a time that places of such revelry, and with politicians and kings, there was deep seeded evil in the roots often.

Reyson chuckled. Sometimes, perhaps, but not as much as you might think.

He didn't reprimand her, or argue. Parties were not his forte, but he stepped into follow behind her. She was excited and he didn't wish to ruin her day. She was young only once.

Reyson took a bite of the stuff she gave him and he immediately felt the small buzz at the back of his head. Because he was not used to imbuing. However, it was nothing for the cloying sweetness of the berries and honey. He wanted to spit it back out, but he obliged and swallowed, licking along the seam of his muzzle to get the offending stickiness off. His face did not give away his displeasure.

He could certainly see why she would like it, but he was not a fan of sweet as much as tart.
See!! Tierra took more herself, and over the course of the night would visit more times than she could count. Her fun was only getting started. She laughed happily, glad she'd gotten him to at least enjoy one part of the party! Then started to sway a bit.

I'm dancing. You can join or go back to the wall, I guess. But I can't let them think this party's no fun. She bumped against him lightly, inviting, but wouldn't pressure him (too much) more. There were plenty of other wolves to dance with! And the night was young.

fade this out? Since it's a bit past <3
Of course. Thank you for the thread. <3

She continued to grasp some and he wondered if he shouldn't stop her. Then realized this was not his place. Yet. He was not much higher than she on the hierarchy and he didn't wish to cause her distress at a time, when she normally didn't get to just live.

Reyson would give her one turn around the dance floor, only because it was the nice thing to do. He wasn't great at it by any means, but at least she would have fun. Then he would return to his posting along the wall and watch quietly.
