Rodyn traced footfalls over the pack lands he had been gone from for the last couple of months. He had cleaned out his den, got rid of the dusty items, and brushed his broad brush tail across the floor. He had settled the extra otter pelts and seashells in the far corner. They were for Samani if she chose to accept his proposal at a later date to do what she wished with.

Then he had found himself down near the river. Staring at the water beneath his paws, cooling and swirling. The salmon jumping and spawning. He was debating on filling caches or calling @Kukutux.

Finally, he waded in, the icy cold water pulling a gasp from his lips. He bent to the task of fishing. Already catching two or three fat salmon. They simply leapt into his mouth as of late. Soon enough, they would be done for the season, and he wanted to fill the caches before then.

I think this is when the spawn. Tail end at least.
moonwoman watched rodyn for a time and then she came to join him there.

"these water brothers have the name of kavisiliq," she said of the salmon, approving of his skill. "and those that return to the sea, they have the name of aijaupiak."

her eyes were warm. "your journey brought many things."
Rodyn had felt eyes on him, but he had largely ignored them. Reintegrating himself back into the pack, was a bit hard. Especially with so many changes. It wouldn't be impossible, just take him some time. That was all. Just as traveling largely alone, had been an adjustment at first.

He saw Moonwoman and offered her a wag of his tail and a lick to her chin in deference of her. Kavisiliq and Aijaupiak.

He tried out the names, they were hard to say, but not as hard as they would have been months ago. He furrowed his brow at her next comment and nodded.

I bring news from all over. If you'd like to hear it.
kukutux welcomed the words of the trader. her springjade eyes shone bright. "speak to me."

the red and yellow leaves moved in a wind that was cold. she felt the sting of snow in its teeth and knew it would not be long.

kukutux was silent, waiting.
Rodyn settled to his haunches, closing his eyes as he tried to remember his journey. And all that he knew.

I met a she wolf in the mountains, Heph. Who seemed interested in the ways of trading. She spoke to me of such things. Helped me hunt brother otter.

Rodyn hummed. Oy Kryfoi is gone from the deepweald, even their scents are stale.

Rodyn shifted, his tail working it's way between his paws. I came across the wolf Void. And counseled him against violence. He also helped me to hunt. I do not know if he took my words to heart.

Rodyn smiled as he remembered his next stop. I met a she wolf named Meerkat, of Sapphique who asked after Sialuk and you. We shared pleasantries and she showed me how to walk in the sand and find seashells. Though i bring grave news from her. One of their pups had gone missing. A great eagle took him. His name is Requiem. I tried to ask after all teh villages i met, but none had seen him.

Rodyn frowned in thought at his next one. I met, a pack near Natigvik, near a place called Redtail Rise. I approached their borders far enough away. I even had a gift. A youth met me. He spoke with me politely, but then he suddenly called intruder and I was set upon before i Could even realize what had happened. That is where this is from.

He motioned to the large ropy scar that took up a jagged place in his shoulder. Remembering the hpain and the absolute betrayal and his loss of trust.

I hunted with a family in a pack known as Paleo, they have a healer as a patriarch. He is very kind. Mahler.

I hunted stag with a wolf named Germanicus of Mereo. He asked if we would be interested in a large spar type of training with his shoulders. I told him I would bring an answer after the snow was gone.

I met a pack of tutors and teachers, known as Epoch. They are interested in trading. Run by Arsenio.
the trader spoke and she listened. she locked away all words and names given to her.

oi kryfoi was gone. void had been given good words. she brightened to hear of meerkat, then sobered as rodyn spoke of a lost child.

mereo she knew through towhee. and she saw the name of natigvik, but not of epoch.

her voice was proud. "you have been many places, rodyn of village moonglow." he was fit for her daughter, she felt. "which was your favorite?"
Rodyn spoke the words he had wanted to for so long. He wanted to tell her of the pretty water by the ocean. The otters playing in teh swamp and surf by the rivers. OF the trees and the forests that dappled the landscapes, the music that played and lulled him to sleep, but the words wouldn't come.

It was beautiful and flawed, but perfect. He whispered, hoping she understood what he meant.

He chuckled. Home upon Moonglow is my favorite.

he tilted his head in thought, But I like Epoch too. To simply exist to learn and teach. That seems wonderful.
moonglow was his favoured place.

she thought of samani.

she thought of the words they had shared about this man. it was good that the village lived in his spirit.

"maybe they will share teachings with us. and we will share ours with them."
Moonglow had worked it's way into his heart. He loved it here. He loved the wolves that made their home on this mountain. He loved the peaceful existence they all had. It was nice. It gave him solace, peace, happiness.

Rodyn smiled. I think that would be a grand thing. To share our knowledge with others. To learn.

How have you been Moonwoman? It is good to see your face, by the way.
she decided. "then we will do this." and she thought of the man beside her as trader of things he had given.

kukutux was light. "i welcome the snow. and i have eyes for the warming-time."

for then perhaps, her time as grandmother moon might begin.
Rodyn offered her a smile. Shy and boyish, but kind all the same. He enjoyed speaking with the leader of Moonglow about all things. He had a eager willingness to learn, which he doubted would be tempered with time. And though he knew they were a land of hunters, he felt that were they to build bridges with others of knowledge and training. To teach other skills. They could really start something great.

I like the snow, but I stick out quite readily in it.

He looked around them and bent to move the fish. Shall i take these to your Ulaq?
moonwoman smiled. "yes. i will walk with you, rodyn."

kukutux would step beside him back to the place of their homes, and speak of many things as they went.

among them was samani.
