Shey is approaching the border of Redtail Rise, interested in joining their pack. He (and myself) is not quite sure how pack joining works though

Shey traveled down from the mountains, where he had left Dusty, towards where he was told the Redtail Rise pack resided. He made sure to keep his nose alert for pack scents, and when he started to scent them sharply, stopped where he was, very much aware to not cross any borders, since he didn't want trouble. He decided it'd be best to approach them with a peace offering, so he scented around the area, catching the smell of some rabbits, before hunting down 2 of them. He brought them back to the spot he'd originally stopped at, and sat, hoping someone from te pack would come by soon.
augur had not returned to the marsh since he had dragged the dead woman through it.

he was superstitious in his own way, or perhaps the memory of death unnerved the hunt-leader.

with many children in the rise and the caches low, his patrols had doubled. his yellow eyes watched the stranger who bore meat.

augur knew he could take it. but he showed himself in a casual way, head lifted and expectant against the wind.
Shey noticed the wolf and stood, dipping his head in a respectful greeting. "Hello." He said. The wolf was a male, like himself, and if Shey had to guess, not much more than a year older. He hoped he was some wolf of authority, or at least a wolf who could bring him to one. "Are you of the Redtail Rise pack?" He asked. "I am interested in joining the pack. These rabbits are an offering I have brought. I know they are a small token, but I am only one wolf and I caught them in my time in this area." He added. "My name is Shey", he added, introducing himself politely.
the other spoke. augur sorted among the words, mentally choosing those he knew.

the stranger wished to join the strength of the rise, and he offered meat. their caches could use the offering. the hunter loped closer, reaching to exchange breath and scent with the other man.

could he fight? that was what blood eyes and red woman would wish to know. he growled, tossing his head in indication he wished to spar.
Shey nodded in agreement, setting his stance. He gathered the male wanted to test his strength. Though he preferred peace, he could fight well. His skills were a little rusty though, the last thing close to fighting he had done being that wrestling match with Dusty.

He started to circle around the other male, hoping he would follow.
augur turned as he was circled.

eventually he stopped. the great man gave a bull's snort and then charged the other.

his wide jaws were controlled as he went to seize.
Shey jumped out of the way of the lunge and quickly countered by snapping his own jaws, with control, but quite a lot of speed, towards the other males flank. He made sure to not use too much power as to not hurt him if contact was made.
the little man was fast.

augur yet had no name for the stranger. the other's teeth plucked through the tangle of fur at his flank.

the hunt-leader brought his tail up to sting the stranger's eyes, pulling away.
Shey gave his name in the 2nd post, when he talked a lot

The move the other male threw was one Shey had never seen before, and it caught him by surprise, catching him in the eyes. He stepped back, blinking, knowing the hesitation could be his downfall. A moment later though he lunged to the right side of the man, faking a bite to his shoulder but catching himself just after a point that would make it look realistic, before in reality snapping towards his left leg instead.
yes! <3 but bc augur doesnt speak, he assigns wolves a name based on their characteristic, like avicus is red woman, prophet is blood eyes <3

the spar was becoming more playful. that was augur's nature.

the other bluffed. his teeth caught but did not hold.

augur snapped for the stranger's ruff in a bite that would not draw blood.

he swept away and threw his tail up, signalling the end of the spar.
oh i thought he was saying he didnt hear sheys name or something

Shey allowed contact on the bite to be made, and then when he saw the mans tail raise, stepped back. "was that good enough? anything else you want me to do?" Shey asked.
gonna start a new one for him to intro him to the other leaders <3

the other's eyes reminded him of a pebble glinting in grass under a misted sky.

sky stone would be augur's name for this one.

he had passed the hunt-master's test. the silent creature gestured to the rabbits. bring.

they would set off now to the rise.
Shey was fairly sure he was being brought to the pack, and as the gesture towards the rabbits was made, he picked them up and began to follow the male.
