With the arrival of the whale on the beach, food was apparently not going to be a concern...Not that it ever had been, for Suzu. The grotesqueness of blood spilling still made her feel upset and woozy- so the whale on the beach appealed to her as the majority of it seemed to be encased in a super thick layer of blubber. It was tough to chew, but it wasn't gory at all- and it became the place that she went to often in the day for a snack.

She wasn't the only one, either. As she tugged at the corpse, so did the sea birds which wisely chose to give the wolf space. Both scavenged in peace- there was so much that the birds wouldn't be competition, and they were just gulls, anyway. Gulls didn't frighten her.

Among the flock was a gull that seemed particularly interested in the section she was working away at. She noticed it seemed more bold than the others, and when she took the time to eye the bird, she realized it stood on one foot- the other one was crooked. She gasped. "Is you!" She blurted, and the sudden draw of attention made the bird lift off- to land a bit further away from her. She wanted badly for it to let her get closer, she wanted to feel how soft its feathers were against her nose, but she figured if she bounded for it, it would just fly away.

The best course of action was inaction. So she lay back down, and continued chewing away at the strip of blubber she'd pulled from the whale, and continued to watch the gull out of the corner of her eye.
