@Bahiti I hope this is not too soon for you! ^^

There were whispers of news; new, but relative.

Sokha did not miss them.

Soon, the figure of Sayf appeared within the door of her chambers. She had been laying comfortably upon her furs. But the news of an arrival drew her upward with curiosity.

It was by the coyote's word that the nebet should expect sight of them soon. And so, as it was spoken, she would wait for them to come to her.
They were bathed, curried over by teeth combs, until they glowed like a night jewel, the deepest shade of obsidian. Travel had been swept from them, and without it they were just as they had always been. An ink black void in space.

They followed in the other’s footsteps, slipping around him when he drew to a halt and entering the room of the noble one. They did not speak, though they did bow low once more, clean and renewed.

Perhaps this might permit them a rest, before they would begin attending to the wants and needs of those around them.
The nebet was not made to wait long. For soon, a figure of darkly fur arrived, bowing low before her.

You need not be so formal, dear Bahiti. Rise, and sit. Perhaps they were fellahin, beneath her. But she was once in their prints. To serve is the purpose of all, not just the lower in status. So, in reality, they were all equal.

How do you find the palace, newly fellahin? She questioned softly, stance relaxed and eyes full of warmth.
The fellahin would raise their head after a moment, resting it on the ground with wide eyes, before standing. It was easy to push up to their feet, sliding across the room to sit nearby to the nebet. Gold eyes flicked from the woman to their surroundings and back again.

Quite a bit larger than I am used to. They mused, tail giving a faint stirr.

My home was mostly shifting sands and camps.
They joined closely beside her.

As they spoke, she smiled.

It is a grand place, Something they both once shared in common: the awe of it all. You will grow accustomed to it with time.

She took a moment to watch them, observe their body language and where their attention was placed.

You were cleaned well. There is little else I can do for you, other than prepare you for what will come. The pharaoh would make it all known to them soon, but the nebet felt it in her rite to share what knowledge she had.

Soon, once after the divine pharaoh sits with you again, you will be an often visitor here. I have been delegated the responsibility of teaching all fellahin the ways of servitude and how to best please their masters and mistresses. If there other tasks by means of service; whether it be song, dance, worship, and the like, I am able to teach these things as well.  Many words, she spoke. She waited, ensuring all had been soaked in.
They listened, nodding along, as the Noble explained her role here. A teacher for those like her.

Bahiti tipped their head.

I have been trained in the ways of courtesans, at least the ones of my home. But I will be never turn such lessons down. There is plenty to learn, always. Surprisingly scholarly for the little coyote who had never shown interest in such.

They blinked gold-mint eyes.

Nor do i know much of this land and how to act in it beyond the most basic of courtly graces and manners.
fade here after your next reply and start up with a new thread?

These lessons you have learned will not go to waste, She assured them. We will pick each of them apart and expand on them.

But she was getting ahead of herself. This would all come later, in due time.

Enough speak on this, for now. Rising from her bed, she waived her tail towards them; a gesture to follow. Come. I will present you once more to the pharaoh. After, I will show you where you may get some rest.
Good with me!

The ink black creature watched the woman rise, then begin walking out of the room. They would watch her for a moment, ink spread across the red sand, before they would slip to their feet with catlike grace.

They slid across the room, an puddle of nothing, and followed in silence to be presented to the pharaoh. Then, they knew, they could finally sleep for a time.
