Any aspiring healers out there? ^^
Dante's agility is +10000 if you can't tell XD

Hot dang this little guy was quick. Dante had tailed the stoat from the edge of the plateau into the trees, but as soon as it scented him it took off lightning-quick. The Alpha was currently trying to cut it off before it could go to ground, but his eyes lit on a hole in the roots up ahead, the seeming target for the fleeing creature.

Determined not to lose out on a (somewhat) choice piece of prey, he dug in, a last ditch effort to catch the thing. Two things happened; the creature disappeared into the roots beneath the tree, and Dante crashed into the same area a moment later. He managed not to faceplant into the trunk, but as a result tripped himself up on the surrounding roots. He ended up flipping over to land flat on his back on the other side, the wind effectively knocked from his lungs.

Rolling over slowly, he gulped in air, shaking his head. If he had any breath he would probably be laughing right now. That must have been a rather graceful sight to behold. A stinging cut in his leg, where one of the roots had slashed through, was dripping blood onto the forest floor. It wasn't bad, but deep enough that it wasn't immediately stopping. Sitting down, he set to cleaning it out as best he could, knowing he should probably at least do that before hunting down someone who actually knew what they were doing.
stealing this :) I love me healer threads

Blue was walking around the forest in search of game for the caches. Especially now as winter encroached upon them. As she walked she sniffed at small openings in both the ground and in the trees. She smiled softly as she tip toed among the leaves, their pretty colors a striking contrast against the back drop of dark ground. She heard a loud thump followed by a gasp and she trotted towards it. Her curiosity winning over as well as the fear that she may need to help heal.

She strode forward and into her green eyed view was Dante. She chuckled at his splayed position and spoke softly. Are you okay Dante? Do you need some assistance? She fought hard to tamper down the laugh that wanted to bubble up, more joy on this day than she had in some time.
Dante started a bit when Blue Willow appeared, surprised that he was not alone out here. It was a small mercy that she hadn't witnessed his blunder, though honestly his pride could have taken the hit. He didn't have too much of it. "Blue Willow, hello!"

She looked happy, happier than she'd seemed in days, and it gladdened his heart to know. Her chuckle made him smile, and he let out a small one himself. "Actually, I seem to have gotten myself a bit." He looked down at the gash on his leg. "What do you think? Tell me straight, doc, will I live?" He put on a pained expression, mock worried. He knew the injury wasn't a bad one at all, but he still didn't want to take any chances on infection. Her good mood was catching, though, so even with his botched hunt he couldn't be too upset.
Blue Willow gave him a small smile, as each day passed she gained a little more of her broken heart back. Granted there would always be a small space that was fractured, and she would always miss Atticus. And she hoped that some day he would come back, whole and healthy and ready to love her again. However, she also had to admit that regardless of how much she loved him, how much she wished him here he was gone, and he had been for a few weeks, he probably wasn't coming back this time. Her luck wasn't that good.

Blue smiled and her lips twitched I just don't know Dante...it looks pretty serious....you may never walk again. Then she couldn't do it anymore and she laughed ,No it's fine just some aloe and some leaf binding and it should be fine. You may not even need it bound it may just be fine with the aloe. She smiled again and chuckled.
Blue Willow went along with his jest, speaking with a mock severity before laughingly giving him her real opinion. Dante looked at her askance, brows raised. "Are you sure? I dunno, I think I might have to take a second opinion." Then he too laughed. "Thanks. I was chasing down some food a little too enthusiastically it seems. My momentum got the better of me." He did build up quite a bit of it with his size.

Even though this situation probably hadn't required her attentions, Dante thought again how lucky they were to have Blue Willow among their number. He imagined many packs probably were without a healer's skills and wondered what they did when injuries occurred. Probably they handled it as his birth pack had... you tended yourself and, if you were lucky, you recovered. If not, well, not much to be done.
Blue willow smiled kindly If you can find someone else for a second opinion by all means. She chuckled then, as far as she knew there were other's with her skill set. She shook her head in mirth I think that gravity got the best of you Dante. She shifted her weight and looked him over, he would survive it was mostly a shallow thing, would heal in a few days, but she would take care of it anyway.

Blue Willow did not think the pack lucky to have her, but rather she was lucky to have the pack. She was lucky to have a family and a home for the winter, and all she needed to do in repayment was what she had always done. Take care of everyone. I don't have any aloe with me, but when you get a chance come to my den and I'll fix you right up. Did you at least come close to catching the prey? She teased him gently.
"Well, there isn't much arguing with gravity, is there?" He returned with a chuckle of his own, shaking his head. He stood, feeling a sharp sting of pain as the cut stretched but nothing unbearable. He'd need to go wash the blood from his fur but the wound was already closing. "I'll come by soon. And honestly? Not very. I wasn't much built for the sprinting chase." He smiled wryly. Next time he saw it, though, it wasn't getting away. That little tidbit had a bounty on it's head now in Dante's mind.

"Not for lack of trying, obviously." Well, win some and lose some. If he didn't have agility then at least he had a bit of luck. Putting himself out of commission wouldn't have been the best way to start his tenure as Alpha of the plateau.
Blue laughed outright No there is no arguing with such a heavy prescence. She shook her head in mirth. She did wince along with him though, Please come to me immediately, you want that cleaned and herbs put upon it, so infection doesn't set in. Even the smallest cuts can cause a fever that can kill. She grew quiet a little worried about it.

Blue laughed again Well then you get an A for effort friend. She shook her head again. It was a pleasant day with a wonderful friend, and she would do well to count her blessings rather than dwell on the past and those she had loved and lost.
Dante wasn't going to argue with that. He'd had countless injuries of his own, but always been lucky that they were of a superficial nature. Fortune had also always favored him in preventing infection, but coming from a pack where healers were scorned he had seen many succumb to the fever that arose off wounds not well tended. It was not a pleasant way to go.

"Why thank you." He said with a smile, looking back beneath the roots. Maybe one of these days his effort would pay off. It seemed he missed more hunts than he was successful these days. Perhaps he was getting lax and needed to work a bit on his footwork. "Next time I will have to pick prey that isn't protected by an aggressive tree."
Blue had seen wolves with nothing more than a scratch, but it got infected and soon after they succumbed to the delirium that the fever induced and many died. It was hard to keep things clean, they lived in the wilds, but she had noticed that seemed to be the cause of infection in open wounds.

Blue chuckled You are welcome. She laughed at his word about an aggressive tree and spoke jokingly. Well you know the tree was just protecting itself from you, you big meany. Running into it like that.
wrap this up of just close? :)

"You got me. Dante, terror to trees everywhere." He appreciated her jesting, something so far he'd only really done with Finley. "I'd think it'd be decent enough to simply ask for an apology though. So rude."

He would stop by her den as soon as he was done out here. For now he planned on sticking around a bit. Perhaps his missed catch would come out of hiding and he'd get another crack at it. Couldn't hurt to see, even if it was a long shot.
Blue chuckled and dipped her nose to his head. I'll take my leave and get what i need ready for you. That way you don't have to dawdle at my den unless you wish too.

Then with one last chuckle and a small nudge to his forehead she turned and trotted back towards her own medicinal caches and the search for what she would need.
